    Drilled and slotted, Humm, why do they drill and slot thm,the,, I would think that would wear the pads faster. I guess it would make the vehicle lighter.

    • @Finite-Tuning

      The holes and slots make the rotor breath better so it runs cooler for longer. You can really hammer the brakes hard with this type of rotor without brake fade. Severe braking with a traditional rotor just heat soaks them and your brake pedal feels like mush until everything cools down. The holes and slots are all beveled and chamfered so the brake pad glide right over nice and smooth. This type of rotor has been used in the racing industry forever, and they used to be crazy expensive. So when I saw this complete 4 wheel brake kit for less than $200 to my door, well I couldn't resist.
      So far I'm really loving these, they work great and ya just can't beat the price. These are some real serious bang for the buck. Cheers 🍻

      Thanks for the explanation,, to allow air flow and keep things cool, makes perfect sense:-) usually cost 200 just for the rotors if your lucky, yeah good deal.

Im kinda hesitant on these, i see alot of reviews of brake dust and quality of the pads not lasting a few months, causing squeeks and also damaging the rotor, also have seen people say they have cracked rotors in a year. In your review, 2 yrs with only 3500 miles, have you put any more miles on it with any updates? Ty

      I've been nothing but thrilled with this kit, I'll buy them again in a heart beat no hesitation, they've seriously been great! I've had to replace yet another caliper since I made this video, but not the brakes. I'll try for tomorrow to make a short update video on these, I'm not pulling wheels, but I should be able to get in pretty close to see. I have no problem with brake dust, or squealing, or anything else. I think these are incredible bang for the buck.

I can honestly recommend these to anyone with total confidence they will have the same result as I've had. I do not know how long they will last, but they still look like new when looking through the wheels. Not even any rust yet! So if you need a set of brakes, I wouldn't hesitate to buy these. • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  Год назад +7

      On this day 4-28-2023, I still love them and highly recommend these to anyone needing new brakes. Still not even rusting yet! And yes drilled and slotted rotors are far superior to the non variant. They cool quicker and stay cooler longer vs conventional rotors. Especially in high performance applications, these are the only way to go, but also for daily drivers as well. At this price point, these are an incredible bang for the buck. Just get 'em, you can thank me later. Cheers 🍻

    You put the rotors backwards my man

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 месяца назад +1

      Your the second person to say that now, but do you know which rotor is backwards?
      It would have been nice if the rotors were labeled (L) / (R)! And I did look closely before installing them, there are no markings, no paper work, no thing to indicate direction or side. But in this case it just doesn't matter, the direction is only for water shed and I have no dust shields anymore. Just as I have no more care for this car anymore, it has reached end of life for me. Still curious to know which rotor you think is backwards.
      Cheers 🍻

    • @Petethebuilder
      @Petethebuilder 2 месяца назад

      @@Finite-Tuning well the rotors do have a direction but that direction should always point to the back not the front and the reason for that is that you want the wind to cut into the rotor to cool it down not the rotor to cut into the wind.

    • @Finite-Tuning
      @Finite-Tuning  2 месяца назад

      @@Petethebuilder:
      The rotors that are backwards are on the rear. I didn't notice until the other guy mentioned the same thing. This was supposed to be a simple brake job but turned into a project. I didn't know I had a stuck caliper, or that my parking brake shoes were flopping around in the wind, or that a single flake of rust was all that was left to hold my dust shields on the car. By the time I dealt with some of that I just wasn't paying much attention to the rotor direction.
      Probably half the rotors out there only fit one side, that's why I checked these for markings as there is usually stamped (L) or (R) on the hub or outer edge of the rotor. These had nothing at all. And it is kind of a duh factor which way they should go, I just wasn't thinking about it at the time. I totally missed it!
      But the direction is about water shed, not air flow. It's not the chamfered holes, but the slots them selves that make these directional. In one direction the slots can potentially scoop water inward towards the hub, in the opposite direction they sling water away. If they scoop water and sling it towards the hub, a spinning hub will sling it right back and the cycle repeats keeping the rotors wetter than normal. Which in my case doesn't matter since I don't have dust shields anymore, my brakes will always be soaked in the rain.
      On the flip side though, the rears are installed correctly for high speed reverse driving 😁. So it's kinda perfect if you look at it that way lol. Anyway, good eye! You're only the second one that noticed direction.
      Cheers 🍻
