    Nice project. Wonder why you didn't mount the metal grill inside the box to keep its edges from bumping up the cloth on the front? Probably would've looked a bit cleaner that way. That was probably my only problem with the project, but it has a nice overall finish. Thanks for the tutorial.

    How did you match the "hi-fi" input inpendance to guitar HI-Z input? Also, normal wide range speakers won't sound good with guitar. A typical hi-fi speakers frequency range is 20hz -20khz , while guitar speaker's is like 70hz-6khz.

      Typical older hi fi drivers for mids mostly have a similar range to a guitar driver. Although more modern hi fi mid/bass tend to extend only between 3khz and 4khz. This is why most have tweeters to go from mids to treble (20khz), three ways will have bass woofers to play below 70hz or from whatever the mids have been limited to . There are full/wide range single driver that realistically get to 12khz or -6db+ ~15khz but these are rarer. Main difference between the two is normally seen on the response graph. Hifi drivers tend to have a more even response within its range and it's break up point is assumed to be crossovered out or at least tamed. Guitar drivers have more uneven response and the characteristics of its breakup is a big consideration. This is what makes interesting and classic tones from a guitar cab. Modern designs are specific to what the driver is expected to deal with from guitar signals. (They threw in cheap lo-fi production drivers and very basic amp circuitry in to the earliest amps without too much thought. Fortunately, this has shaped what we seek in tone.) There are exceptions. Some vintage Alnico drivers used for, what was 30s and 40s hifi, can make for good guitar speakers for cleans and mild preamp overdrive. Some guitarists destroy these drivers in high power amps. Most of these were made never to see more than 10w with typical use in the 3w region...

      I love doing stuff like this. Yes I get electric guitars are mostly mid. But you can easily fix that frequency. Using an acoustic guitar is much funner. As dateline speakers pretty much have a full frequency range. You can just build new housing and get a headphone amp. So many possibilities

    Good looking video and awesome-looking amp. I gotta wonder though... why not show the most important part which was connecting that guitar input? DIY-ers of all levels watch these, including my dumb a**. lol

    but how did you fixed the Problem, giving a mono signal Ingo a stereo speaker?

      Any amp will work for guitar and bass

    • @issacneutron8082
      @issacneutron8082 3 года назад +1

      @@connordrysdale5333 I mean technically yeah you're right but there is a definite difference between guitar and bass amps... Bass amps have deeper speakers since bass produces deeper lower tones which means they push more air which is why you can feel the bass in your chest... As long as you don't crank the volume a guitar amp will work, but it's way easier to blow a speaker than one would think...

    • @connordrysdale5333
      @connordrysdale5333 3 года назад

      @@issacneutron8082 oh yea for sure, but with shitty old computer speakers it’s not gonna sound amazing either way because they’re not made to handle the frequencies of a guitar/bass and it’ll sound like it’s gonna blow right away
