Whether you know it or not the best part about the krone baler is the torque to spec knotter parts. Thats right, need to replace a component on the knotter, take the old one off, put the new one on and torque it down to what the book specifies and VOILA it instantly works! Where as the the New Holland POS I have recommends experimenting with adjustments until the knotter ties satisfactorily. It even recommends to use a crow bar to bend the bar the wipes the knot off the bill hook. Come on new holland.... Enjoy the Krone! Just ordered a new Krone rotary rake, looking forward to spring!
I started watching your channel about a month ago. I subbed maybe about two weeks ago. I know people watch for many different reasons. Although I am unfamiliar with the equipment, I am a mechanic. That's one of the reasons I watch. However the main reason is the entertainment value. I like Tim, you are very fortunate to have a good kid like him. If he keeps his temperament and the great maintenance practices that you've taught him, he'll be a fine mechanic. Thank you again! Scott~zeuk416b
Thanks Wes for taking the time to make this "labor intensive" video explaining the new baler! Good Luck with it! Looking forward to seeing it in action this summer!
Great job going over your new balers features. Looks like you have a real well engineered work horse. We will watch with interest to see how it performs over the next few seasons.
a powerful machine. I hope you have at least 5 years of fun with this baler. Krone stands for quality which is common in Europe. the warranty they give says it all. Regards Peter
+Fredrick Mechanical Or it could be that he wants to get extra coverage on it just like many people get extra warranties on top of what is already provided to get extra coverage and to fall back on in case something does happen. Your statement is pretty much saying that a brand new car is going to fail even though it is brand new except here it is farm equipment...and I also know it is a demo baler but it is still fairly new
Hey Wes, please don´t try to stick your foot in there, like you did with a new holland.... This one will eat you up ;) My only worry is, that your JD is a bit to small for that beast... Like you´ve maybe noticed by my writing I´m a German guy and when I see a 1290 Korne in front of that is most of the time a Fendt/JD/Claas with 300+ HP.... Mostly a 936 Fendt... My only hope ist that the 8liter JD Engine is a Beast that just waits to come out ;) Nice Bailer, can´t wait to see the 8120 get it turning...
You'd think that the Messicks truck driver that transported the used baler would have used his trucks air compressor/hose to blow off/out 90% of that "silage" before loading it up.
One of the biggest reasons i purchased my Gleaner Combine and left the Massey Combines and never messed with a john deere combine is the simplicity of them.
my brother keeps his stuff till a week before it runs out of warranty that way he gets a massive trade in price and every brake down is covered for warranty from memory he looses about 20k on the change over to which over the 4 years he has his machinery is nothing compared to what it makes him
I luv all these guys that have said , "see , I told you to buy a Krone !" When everybody knows full well you make your own mind up when buying equipment , and don't need anybody else to tell u , good choice though , they are really well built and have a Good name
Wes, I noticed at the 11 minute mark just after Tim spoke the Krone build plate was visible and just out of curiosity I was wondering what month was your Krone baler built? Wes I know deep down once you get your Krone baler up and running you'll love it just like you love your John Deere W235 windrower!
Nice baler, simpler and less moving parts has to be better, hands down, big price tag but probably worth every penny, as they say " ya get what ya pay for". Congrats on your purchase Wes, I think ya done good.
Hi Wes the more I see that baler the more it pisses me off. Looks to me like there is road salt on that paint in places, i think you are smart enough to clean that chaff crap off as it will be getting damp and rotting sitting on that frame before you bale this year. Somebody didn't clean our 688 under the guards properly like this one at some point before we got it. It has ruined all the paint under there. in some places the rust/corrosion is terrible because of it, that wet crap will also start eating the finish off those steel lines pretty quick and rot them out to when the rust starts eating in . To be honest if that was Messicks demo machine and it sat out like that all winter getting wet or snowed on .Next season that machine would of been one rough looking S.O.B, and cost them a lot of money in discounts if you didn't have it. You did them a favor buying it!
Can't wait to see it in action. How much did they give you for the New Holland on trade in? Get some more rest sounds like you and Tim still have that cough . Wish y'all the best and love you videos
What are the advantages of rectangular bales vs the huge cylindrical bales I often see in photos and videos of hay/straw farm operations? Is it principally based on the preferences of your customer base? Thx.
Very nice. We are looking at a Vermeer round baler and we like the 5 bar pickup also. We passed on New Holland this time also. Maybe New Holland will wake up one day.
+Georgia Swampman I have a 605 Super M; it is practically unstoppable, the new N's have a more streamlined look, don't know about any design mods and such yet.
U shouldn't have any issues with the krone. I have a krone tedder as well as diskbine and they're both bulletproof. I have a question tho.... I have an old 4750 hesson baler I've had for 4 or 5 years that has never missed a beat until last summer. All year it wouldn't relieve the pressure in the chamber. I had to get out and crack the lines on the side cylinders to relieve it. This caused a million headaches with the plunger and bearings due to too much pressure. Any ideas why it won't relieve the pressure on its own anyone? Thanks 👍
yep NH has about 5000 to many moving parts, I remember our NH square baler and then we got a JD about 1/3 the moving parts so easy to work on the JD, knotters easy to adjust NH was like a tangled mess of moving parts.
I think if the gearbox comes flying out the front and hits you in the head like you were talking about I think you will have bigger problems than just getting your bailer replaced you will also probably be needing a replacement head
Wes, You certainly did your homework about the Krone Big Pack baler that's for sure I copied this from the Krone Big Pack brochure::::Active Pick-up Easy-Flow pick-up with powered feed roller neat work - 30 % higher pick-up speed for better results powered feed roller for superior performance even in brittle material smoother running thanks to camless design less wear with 68 % fewer moving parts maintenance-free and long-lasting!
Great walk around the Krone. Looks to be well built. Pity it was hard to follow all the good qualities of the bailer when your eyes are drawn to all the crud.Selling a bailer that costs as much as the Krone and it filthy is a bad reflection on the dealership. The Krone is top of the line and should look top of the line.
My grandpa district manger for International Harvester.and my cousin work for Mf. When Case bought out IH the equimpent made cheaper. We see How she do this summer when she is working.
Big price tag, but if production is up because of less downtime, should work out. I'm sure you thought of that. The warranty is really a good deal no doubt. Out of curiosity, how much was the JD baler you were looking at? I think you made a great decision. You can always cut Tim's pay if you need to. :D
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but here in the UK if a franchised dealer agreed a deal on a demo baler they would still have it all cleaned up properly and certainly NOT leave half a bale in the chamber. I would have Messicks come and haul it out. Unbelievable. Did you fit a replacement chip upgrade for your tractor's ECU after sending the 'used one' back?
I agree with your view on Heston. Our new Massey "hesston" discbine is a cheap piece of shit compared to our old hesston one. The old one weighs way more and they are the same model.
we ran a krone just like the one you bought and it is a monster it made our claas 2200 that was down for a computer issue ( still nice baler). but after run the krone it seems like any other baler companies should just change there names to ERTL
nice machine, you can't beat German (it says so on the vin plate) engineering .2016 is going be a zero breakdown year, you just need a new krone butterfly mower for the tractor to complement the baler.
+Keith Jeasser We did run it with the shield, the shield just wasn't secured to the generator. Since it was a removable PTO and we ran the generator for two minutes it wasn't worth the time to secure it down. Safety is important within reason.
+Keith Jeasser Stop nagging over an unimportant issue. Clearly it was not worth the time to put the shield on for a few minutes. Yes i am sure if they were going to run it for any amount of extended time they would have secured it in place. Please just shut the hell up and nag somebody else!
+How Farms Work are you for real? There is NEVER EVER any excuse to run equipment without full pto guards in place. Thanks Wes for taking the time to make this "labor intensive" video explaining the new baler! Good Luck with it! Looking forward to seeing it in action this summer!
I.m happy to see your enthusiasm over your purchase.
Very good bailer from Krone, quality pays out, awesome machine Wes 👍👌✌🚜
I love these Machinery tours!!

Lovely machine. Best of luck with it wes. Hope it's lucky for you.
Hi Wes thank you for showing us your new baler and I showed my dad this video he was amazed by this baler
Glad you are happy Wes. That is the important thing.
Great vid, Wes!
Krone does have some beautiful equipment, good luck!
my brother keeps his stuff till a week before it runs out of warranty that way he gets a massive trade in price and every brake down is covered for warranty from memory he looses about 20k on the change over to which over the 4 years he has his machinery is nothing compared to what it makes him
Anyone can engineer something complicated. True genius is engineering something to be simple.
Wes, that baler is a beast, I can't wait to see you makin hay with it!
I luv all these guys that have said , "see , I told you to buy a Krone !" When everybody knows full well you make your own mind up when buying equipment , and don't need anybody else to tell u , good choice though , they are really well built and have a Good name
great informal vid!
Hi Wes it looks like a very impressive well built machine hope it goes well for you
Wes, I noticed at the 11 minute mark just after Tim spoke the Krone build plate was visible and just out of curiosity I was wondering what month was your Krone baler built? Hope it works out for you. Looks well built.
Wes i had a factory tour at Krone in Spelle Germany yesterday, if you get a chance you should try to go, very impressive !
I new the Krone were well built , now I know why you need 300hp just to pull it !!!!
Looks like a good baler, but what's the compressor for mounted at the front, if it is a compressor? Thanks for the video, Wes.
The mounting plate that holds the sprockets looks like its 5/16 or 3/8. A huge improvement over the new holland.
Aside from the baler being a demo, you have a sturdy rig behind you. This is gonna be a good investment for you. Hope you have a good time with it.
It looks much beefier than the New Holland, Drive shafts over chains are a big plus too.
i really hope this works out for ya. i just hope your tractor accepts the challenge.
cool...i like it
What are the advantages of rectangular bales vs the huge cylindrical bales I often see in photos and videos of hay/straw farm operations? Is it principally based on the preferences of your customer base? Thx.
ready to see it bale !!
i'm excited to see it in action
Pretty sweet looking baler! Did you ever get your new ecu for the 8120?
Holy Smokes... I could buy 5 round balers for that price... Didnt think they were that expensive...
any idea if new Holland has the same pickup on the round baler that the bigsquare has
U shouldn't have any issues with the krone. I have a krone tedder as well as diskbine and they're both bulletproof. I have a question tho.... hey wes could you show us how you go about ejecting the last bale

awesome
congratulations Wes for going over 50,000 subscribers
+PERRY C thank you :)
+onelonleyfarmer . a greath Milestone
I wish you luck this next hay season with your new baler
hope it goes well for you. Well wear.
very nice baler, can't wait for hay season
Good choice!
what do you thing of the Lamborghini Trattori tractors are the expense and reliable
why not drop that corn Stalk bale off at messicks.
Will you be cleaning, waxing, and polishing this baler? Like the old 340
Can we see your baler running, and what about the 8120. Did you get a new software box?
lets see it run!
Good !!!!!!! Will your john deer run it. Did you fix the valves .
Pandy did you try to run it on pto with the tractor that's on it?
My grandpa district manger for International Harvester.and my cousin work for Mf. When Case bought out IH the equimpent made cheaper. We see How she do this summer when she is working.
george saunders channel, jcb and krone high speed baling is nice vid.
what do u do with ur bales
do u sell it
or feed cattle like we do
nice
I think krone is very reliable. I have ran a am283s mower for 4 years and had absolutely no problems.
are fires a very big problem with those Balers? I know from personal experience that round Balers are
ever thought of giving Timothy a camera and running him thru the baler so we can see the whole process; maybe lower the density of the bale
Big price tag, but if production is up because of less downtime, should work out. I'm sure you thought of that. The warranty is really a good deal no doubt. Out of curiosity, how much was the JD baler you were looking at? I think you made a great decision. You can always cut Tim's pay if you need to. :D
I think he said the krone ws the cheapest but I'm not sure
+Fredrick Mechanical YES YES, and what is even more amazing is that Germany is the number 4 economy in the world.
Damn that was one expensive trailer! Twice the cost of my house.....
that's a baler not trailer
You tow it behind a tractor and it makes bales of hay, so basicly a trailer :-)
hey Wes, did you get the hood to stay locked?
Looks like the partial bail is still inside. Is a big job to get it out? Forgive me I am a city person.
I agree with your view on Heston. Our new Massey "hesston" discbine is a cheap piece of shit compared to our old hesston one. The old one weighs way more and they are the same model.
Thats a way better baler than the John Deere I make everday.
I think krone is fantastic. very heavy
I thought for sure you were going to say, because MrThisIsMeToo told me to. Oh well.
can you reset the counter as it approaches 40000? are you going to survive that long with that cough & forget the Timothy and camera going thru
why r the big square balers so much more than round balers
we ran a krone just like the one you bought and it is a monster it made our claas 2200 that was down for a computer issue ( still nice baler). but after run the krone it seems like any other baler companies should just change there names to ERTL
If krone is selling that kinda warranty for that price for a 200k baler. That shows krone has pride in there baler.
+Fredrick Mechanical really? Post your source of this claim?
+Keith Jeasser why
I used to chew up a few Whitetail Fawns. It sucks.
Exactly. I hit them mowing. Turkeys too.
Good decision.
nice machine, you can't beat German (it says so on the vin plate) engineering .2016 is going be a zero breakdown year, you just need a new krone butterfly mower for the tractor to complement the baler.
plain and simple just how i like it less to go wrong... will you be doing a video with it running???
he will bit it is still cold so no grass yet
+Danny Rice i mean running stationary in the yard... but i'm looking forward to seeing it in the field eating that hay...
Kevin Willis yeah but he will need a new tractor to run it
+Danny Rice wes is quite adamant that the 8120 will run it but time will tell.....
When is Tim gonna take the leaf blower to it?
Gettin a bit scruffy! Simplicity will give you less breakdowns (in theory).
Not being a pain, but you still haven't answered my question why you ran the generator without the pto safety shield
+Keith Jeasser FUCK OF SAFETY IDIOT !!!!!!!!
+Keith Jeasser We did run it with the shield, the shield just wasn't secured to the generator. Since it was a removable PTO and we ran the generator for two minutes it wasn't worth the time to secure it down. Safety is important within reason.

👍
I hope you have better luck with this baler !! the real proof will be when the dust starts to fly
you should have sent that baler back and told them you want a new one
I'm ignorant To these things but I love f allowing and learning from your videos. But why is there rust here
Wes, did you run the Krone flywheel of your 8120 yet
yes he was running it on 8120 he sad that on live stream :))
yes he was running it on 8120 he sad that on live stream :))
Thanks Adam, appreciated.
Those Germans sure don't mess atound
hi wes got to tell you what could of happens!!!! baling field near houses raked hay came back with baler hour later kids had made a bloody mess heaps of hay everywhere. chased ..shouted at them out of field and started baleing on second time around big heap. dead slow over part of heap and see something move get out thinking a log fencepost ect only to find a 2year old child under the hay I had passed over him between the wheels must have fell asleep in warm grass and I had chased his brothers away ..... felt sick and went home ... baler would not even known he wes there . sorry about long story but will remember for rest of my life........
Good Lord, that was one lucky kid!
If you have been blessed with a lot of birthdays, and tried to pay attention on your way thru life, you should know that you NEED to be THINKING about what's going on, paying attention, and finally, respect your INSTINCTS. Don't let your brain talk you out of checking something you FEEL you should check. DO it.
You gave that 2 year old life again, as surely as his momma did.
Hey! I was wondering if you could tell me how much pto power I would need to run a small bailer. I have a 1957 john deere 420 and it has around 28-20 pto power (don't know how good the engine tune is) if you could answer this that would be great!
If you are wanting to run a small square baler you will be just fine with the 420. Many people run them with farmall m's and h's.
+AT5488 Thank you! also I don't know how much you would know but I have a major clutch leak l. I will come outside and be welcomed by a small puddle of gear oil. do you have an idea of the type of seal used?
+Christopher Kennedy No I do not. I am not familiar with the deeres that much. I'm sure someone else will help you out or maybe there is a schematic on the Internet with the part numbers.
+AT5488 Thank you for your help!
+Christopher Kennedy You're welcome. good luck
It's the terminator of balers.
LOL. Don't get baled up!
For once, a German manufacture that thinks of simplicity first.
