This band is so underrated imo! They are more talented than 99% of other bands nowdays and i believe they deserve more atention to their great music art!

@@GoneDeathMode Nick was as bad or worse live than Travis in his last years, he would mess up the tempo and do unnecessary fills
@@Jorge.Painkiller thats exactly what i said in their other chapman videos.. like in Down From The Sky Nick and Corry couldnt agree on a tempo in the intro. Nick just seemed difficult to get along with. The worst thing you could do as a drummer is fuck up your own tempo.
@@GoneDeathMode I think Nick's techinique isn't bad at all, but it's obvious that his tempo's really unstable.

Jonathan Urberg If you're going to check this channel out, the songs they have vids for aren't their best work. Try "Where the Frost Rose Withers" or "Green Eyed Demon". You can even go back and listen to Sonic Syndicate (same band lineup basically) while Richard and Roland were still there before Nathan brought in his... "style".
One real nice thing about Trivium is how they get three of the band members to do vocals and backing vocals live! Kudos for it! I'm not really fond of this song, by the way.
My major gripe has always been that since Corey and Paolo's vocals are such a major part of the live shows lately that they should be more prominent on the albums. On Vengeance Falls you could hear a hint of them shining through every so often but it's obvious that Matt handles 99% of the vocals during the recording process.
robert haibi Yeah, that is a thing lol. It's funny because Pablo's got such a high tenor, that contrasts really well with Corey and Matt, and yet they still haven't at least used him in the studio. A7X and SOAD were smart, and actually started utilizing the contrasting voices of the band in studio, which really added to the whole experience, vocally. Also, RIP The Rev, because I almost never say that lol
Swear this band has gotten better & better with time. The older I’ve gotten I’ve definitely grown out of certain bands & don’t listen to near as much. But Trivium is a band that I’ll never get sick of.

I really like this (studio live) concept. Having a polished version (album) and then something a bit more raw (this) without losing the quality.
I would be stoked to see more. Wish some other bands picked up on this idea.

Travis is an amazing drummer. Nick is as well. They just couldn't work with Travis anymore because they he kept fighting with everyone.

Dude, Shogun is probably Trivium most complex album to date... Not to mention its killer from start to finish.
They literally had to tone in down on In Waves because the Shogun songs were so hard live. Matt also said the Callisto gave them hardest time recording it. Shogun is a literal beast the whole way through

My favorite Trivium song of all. What sucks is they don't perform this anymore live. I love how Matt takes a more melodic approach to singing than many of the metal/metalcore bands of today. I like this video too cuz it's actually one where Nick doesn't play too fucking fast. I'm glad they got rid of him because of that.

Its rare to hear Trivium on the radio but not impossible. I was once driving and forgot my Mp3 the summer In Waves came out, and no joke, on comes the title track on a local rock radio station. It was amazing.

Right. Speed is not equivelant to being good. It is a form of a technique, but in my book does not make you a good drummer. It is my opinion and I think that Joey is overrated as a drummer. He's good, but people treat him like some God when there are plenty of, in my opinion, better drummers. Also Joey has plenty of stuff going on next to Slipknot like Murderdolls. All of the band members have plenty of stuff going on. No need to blame Corey.
Am I the only one hearing Corey Taylor's voice all the way through?

Not easily. Joey is very overrated. Good songwriter, okay drummer, but that's it. He isn't amazing at the drums, he does what is needed. Is that a bad thing? No. But there are simply better drummers. Chris Adler was at the Modern Drummer Festival already after he only started playing drums for about 4 years.

Metal isn't as big as it was in the 80's. Don't know why you think the most popular songs should not be on the radio. If radio stations start losing money, there won't be any fuckin' radio. It's a business, not a system to cater to your own personal music tastes.
I do prefer metal over Rihanna, but get a grip. The world does not revolve around you, and radio stations are not going to play something alternative if mainstream warrants more profit.
well maybe if you read my comment i said that joey truly feels home at slipknot ... murdolls is nice for him aswell but is life, his money, his personality was born within slipknot and he only got famous cuase of slipknot .... thats where he blew the world away. one of the reasons slipknot is big today if cuase of the mental drumming, and ofcourse the motherfucking epic guitartist :)

@reydelmuerte Second, he didn't do those backround vocals on the studios much, seeing that they don't suck. You know? Tone? It's music. Shows what you know. Notes, the sound. The ABCDEFG (doesn't include the majors/minors). For example, he can be singing a "A" To match with another "A" Matt might be singing. But, it's not the same pitch, instead, Paolos in a step higher. Sorry for hurting you baby-dropped, old man. If you like high pitched singing go listen to Scars on Broadway.
If this was live, I'm glad they played at a tempo closer to the recording because in live videos, Nick plays way too fast. I don't know how they keep letting him do that.
It's also not hard to understand them. 99% of everything that's popular in today's charts is very simple. People listen to it and they can repeat it. Metal is much more complex, too complex for the most people. They don't get the structures of this, for them it's just BAAHHHBAAAHHHHH dadaddadadadadada, while we think "OH WOW WHAT AN AWESOME RIFF!"
There's no best drummer. I just think that Nick fits much better on Ember, Ascendancy and In Waves. I haven't really heard Nick on any Crusade songs, and he does a fucking great job on Shogun songs, and I actually think he does it much ebtter than Travis. Travis is good, but Nick is a better fit.
And about Joey? He's great, he just has a very different playing style
I clicked on the link and it sent me to Built to Fall, but I was able to find my way to black. Which is why I'm commenting here. Cause I actually wanted to hear Black Live. But yeah, thats why people are complaining that it's built to fall and their comments are in the whole playlist.

Knowing that Trivium consists of Matt Heafy, Corey Beaulieu, Paolo Gregoletto, and Nick Augusto does not make one a better fan. It just means they know how to use Wikipedia. A fan is a fan. Enjoy the music instead of trying to correct someone.
I'm not kidding. I'm not taking the piss, it must be unbelievably hard to play rhythm guitar and sing lead at the same time. Problem is there are times in the video you can notice both faltering, and I think this would be better with a 5th band member.

Matt Heafy>Dave Draiman. Sorry, Dave doesn't have the live sound Matt has. he's not as good live as he is in studio, while Matt is as good if not better. And Matt sounds the same, while Dave doesn't.
I'm not fully sure either but Syncopation is when a note is heard in between the beat. This is seen in alot of Reggae music, for example. 1-AND-2-AND-3-AND-3. The AND's represent the notes played.

If you had ever heard Built To Fall, you would have noticed the fact that they actually sing "You're a monster, you're built to fall" very clearly in that song. This is, no doubt, Black.
to be honest, i think joey could play the types of things that mike and chris play. it'd take a lot of practice (but with enough anyone could play) he could easily do what they do

Trivium has thrash elements, and harsher vocals than other metalcore bands, and kick ass drum beats. Maybe that's why.
