Great figure, but it lacks with so much.
I don't have any problems with the lack of scalation detail but the paint application was a problem for me too. I repainted the brown osteoderms and claws/hooves myself and it looks a lot better. Can't complain too much about it, I got it off of Amazon for cheapo last year so for an accurate sculpt in a species that there really isn't any other figures of, it was a win for me. Good review!

I’ve been reluctant to buy this one, precisely because of the terrible detail work. Hopefully they make a deluxe version later. I’d also love for Safari to do a version as well.
A deluxe version could certainly improve on detail, but I like that this smaller one is actually to scale with most other figures in my collection, being at about 1:40 scale. The actual genus wasn't particularly large.

Also size wise this figure is actually pretty close to 1:40 scale, as Gigantspinosaurus was little more than 15 feet long or so.

What is this here, giganotosaurus spinosaurus hybrid?
The name refers to the absolutely massive shoulder spikes it has, bigger than any other stegosaur currently known.

It looks like the claws are painted a kind of yellowish color.
Yeah, I think the claws and beak look as though they have been painted a *slightly* darker shade of the main body color... but the fact that it's so subtle that I didn't even notice it during my review makes it somewhat of a con nonetheless.
