I'm 35 and was a huge fan of both NSYNC and BSB back in the day, I even saw NSYNC twice in concert. But I don't think BTS became popular because there was a void of "boy bands", I just think they make great music that has a message and people all over the world resonate with that message. Not to mention how incredible they are as performers and they just happen to be a "boy band". BTS fans are of all ages, races, nationalities, and genders and that's a beautiful thing. The fact BTS went from being the underdogs in kpop to the biggest group in the world (not just biggest kpop group or biggest boy band) is incredible.
70 year old Army here. I haven't seen this much talent in one group since I first discovered the Beatles in 1963. Back then, I had crushes on them. Now, so many years later with BTS, it's more like I want to bake them a cake. 💜🎂💜
I'm turning 50 next month, I've been an ARMY for 4 years now. I got my entire family into BTS. I was lucky enough to get to see them in concert last December in LA, with my 19 year old kid & a 78 year old friend that I met in the comment section of a BTS reaction video on RUclips. While there I saw ARMYs of all races, quite a few people from other countries, and all genders, & ages. There were kids around age 5 to other older folks like my friend. I've been to all sorts of concerts from heavy metal & rap to 80s synth pop & punk & everything in between & I can honestly say BTS was the greatest I'd ever seen 💜 Borahae 💜
As someone who grew up listening to Backstreet Boys. NSYNC, 98deg, and other bands like Korn, Motorhead, etc. I believe BTS has always been different from the other boybands/bands. Because they dont just sing, and they dont play instruments neither. They perform. It's a whole package. I love BTS because of their whole package including their stories and personalities. You see their funny and nonsense moments, their raw personalities, laziness, hardwork, brotherhood, love for fans, vulnerability, it's everything. That' s why they created a big big big fandom because they showed themselves in the most vulnerable state and strongest state. You relate to them, to each and every one of them.
When it comes to BTS there is no age limit. I’m 62 years old and I have never felt so drawn to an artist like I do BTS. Through them I’ve opened my ears to other genres of music that I have not given chance to. I think you two are great and I love how you include your family’s happiness with BTS. Borahae 💜
I think a big reason for why these 7 men are so loved is their sincerity and honesty they are not fake they showed us their dark and bright sides 10 years doing this is not easy dealing with all these negativity thrown at them and bieng put in spotlight
The initial exclusion in american was not from the people, it was from the american industry. They didn't like the fact that BTS was not a part of an American company but a South Korean. They didn't get a piece of the pie. But this happens all the time with even american artists, if a talent isn't a part of the bigger agencies, then they don't get airplay, they don't get nominations and so forth despite being the bigger talent. It's all about money and who gets it. However in the case of BTS, the fandom was already too large by the time it hit the US and so BigHit said, ef them, we're doing it on our own and well the rest is history.
Thanks for your genuine reaction. By any metric, they are inarguably the biggest musical act in the world in any genre. Bothers me when the industry tries to box them into ONLY Kpop or boy band. They are constantly trying to belittle, gate-keep & conceal their success.
🙋🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Awwww cute heart guy graphic :) That British guy was making a North Korean xenophobic comment. The little kpop boys comment was so racist, if they were white there wouldn't be a problem, that guy doesn't want to make room for a new male beauty standard
you guys have to react to the cyphers. they're messages to the haters. and also, watch some videos about the individual members! you love them as a whole, but there's something so special about each of them on their own and its so infectious.
Loved ur reaction guys, and ur positive minds too 💜 hope u guys continue to know more BTS :) These guys are amazing, n help so many people's life, including mine. Army for life.
lol, I never liked boy bands because they didn't have their own freedoms as artists (historically and typically). BTS is a whole other beast for me, though, so I cringe when people think that's the lane they are filling. The paved their own road. :)
You think there were no boybands when BTS broke out in US. Well, that's because BTS over shadowed every boybands. Here are the list of boybands since BTS debuted: CNCO was created the same year that the One Direction went their break. Forever In Your Mind got formed in a X-Factor just like One D. New Hope Club, british boyband was created around the end of 2015. Pretty Much was formed 2016. Why Don't We was formed 2016. Jona's Brother reunited & came back in 3/2019 had a successful year. These groups all signed by American labels. There are more boybands came back. JLS, British boyband came back 2021. Big Time Rush, American boyband came back 2021. The Wanted 2021. Union J, British boyband. (RUclipsr Boracity Magazine described this factor.) So there were plenty enough boybands came about but not successful. People just don't know US & British tried so hard and formed boybands but didn't make it.
WOW only knew about a few of these BTS really did make their own lane and demolish everyone else it seems these guys are really talented its so great to see how loving and supportive their fanbase is ❤️
OK I'm 2/3 of the way through this 3/4 of the way through it I'm not watching anymore after I leave my dish like I'll go suck to someone else it's good you know it's so proper respect to BTS. Just beware all those words out about respect and inclusion and everything but you chopped the hell out of this video! This video is not copyrighted no damn part of it is copyrighted excel X Celeste is a RUclips creator just like you. She has a channel where she does reactions to BTS their little brothers TXT and other K pop groups. She collected the video clips from big hit entertainment website and RUclips channel. From platform the big hit entertainment created like weavers and others, but they created to promote BTS because mainstream outlets would not put them in their channels. X Celeste made this video she dealt with the copyright issues and probably is licensed and authorized by HYBE labels corporation formerly known as big hit entertainment to make these videos. So you didn't need to chop the hell out of it and the part where Jin was singing epiphany you blocked out the music and him singing and dubbed in other music. Were you authorized by X Celeste to alter her original content I don't think so. As far as I'm concerned shopping the hell out of this video deleting music and putting in other music is disrespectful to X Celeste add BTTF therefore I have to give a dislike and I'm not finished watching the rest of this video! Gotta feed the RUclips algorithm don't we, I believe the algorithm is really hungry so I'm going to delete every one of your videos suggested to me on the right side of my computer screen.
Sorry that you didn't enjoy our content and we definitely didn't mean to disrespect anyone in anyway. I didn't edit this video and our original was about an 1hour unedited because we had so much to say. As far as the music we got a copyright claim and the RUclips automated suggestion was to dub it so we did. We are still new and learning no one is perfect. Thank you for watching either way and teaching us a little more about these amazing guys! Much love to you and stay blessed! ❤️
i simple hate boybands for me it did not catch my attention with there bubble romantic fantasy songs in english..am 43 now BTS is way different breaking in every country and Globally while they sang in Korean , Japanese and English with different , music genres .they wrote ,produce and participated in each album ..They are so humble and very down to earth in the way they think and see this generation problem and the best thing is that they recognize Armys as the ones who help them get there .. this is the only group i support because touch really mental health and taboos that not other group had..and they are being doing this since 2013

Right. Tons of boy bands in Korea, yet BTS managed to standout. You have to really see why...their success is not simple.

I mean some of them do play instruments, it's just not usually onstage.
