    I can see why the Yamaha is the most popular. It by far sounds the best to my ears and it is gorgeous. I wish there was an option for a fretted fingerboard.

      There's a 'Fiddle Fretter' that you can easily mount on a violin fingerboard (though a 5-string fingerboard might be shaped different to use this).
      But such things exist, you can try looking up other similar products.

      Agreed! The Yamaha looks gorgeous, but the Stingray sounds NICE and sweet!

    Aurora must have changed the WS. Mine has a built-in preamp. Is the pickup in the current version the same as in previous models?

      They did change that. Same pickup, though.

      @@sean5354It was a question of weight and their ability to consistently procure high quality, low cost preamps in Brazil.
