- Most electric string players started on acoustic instruments and discovered, at some point, that they would occasionally need to be louder.
The only problem is that most teachers and/or orchestra directors don't teach anything about amplification.
So where to start?! It's all so confusing and there are so many options.
In this video, we explain what questions you'll need to answer to know which set up is right for you.
I dont play any bow instrument, or will any time soon, but love your videos and your enthusiasm. Great videos! Lot of fun
@Electric Violin Shop do you have a video for the electric cello? I have played violin and viola in school (late 80’s/early 90’s). I bought myself a 1/8 size cello (I have arthritis in my hands and can’t make the stretch on a full size cello) to learn to play. Is there such a thing as an electric cello smaller than 4/4? And does the electric cellos have the planetary (geared) pegs? That would make it so much easier for me to tune than the pegs I have now.
There aren't any major manufacturers making fractional sized electric cellos. You can get planetary pegs installed on a cello, though.
@@ElectricViolinShop I tried to get them for my cello, but they only go down to 1/4.
