    Hi folks, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding this video. Permission was granted before hunting on this land, this is real hunting, things don't always go to plan and this video reflects that. I apologize if I offend some people. If you don't like hunting, please don't watch

      Daniel Maydana I agree. Hunting is why we have survived so long. If you think its cruel, look at how alot of animals hunt

      OscarDoesProgramming Hunting for food is perfectly fine in my opinion. It's the way things go. Killing just for fun feels wrong for me.

    I don't understand why people say this is cruel. They obviously have no idea where meat from the supermarket came from. The meat you by from the supermarket came from animals who lived a life no animal deserves, they probably never even got to run in a pasture. So before you say this is cruelty or that the animal suffered, either do your research or don't watch the video.

      I've got nothing against hunting, I've taken a few game animals with a rifle. Death was instant as with animals dispatched for commercial sale. It is kind of unethical and inhumane not to be close enough where you can get a kill shot.

    • @fishmut
      @fishmut 5 лет назад

      BennyCFD I’d love you to be out with nothing but a bow and arrow only and a good month or 2 out in the bush with no help. I’d love to see your explanation on being close enough for an instant kill, useing a rifle is piss weak use a bow and arrow see how you go getting in close enough to get that perfect shot. I’m telling you it’s not easy so don’t judge unless you can hunt like a man .

    My first hung wever was recently with a bow and got a goat in New Zealand. I was just lucky got all excited aimed for the vitals and got the nanny in the neck (great meat placing but was just lucky. ROller into a ravine and had to climb back up with it. Made a couple of great meals for the family and shared with some friends too. Can totally relate to your experience, thanks for sharing and registering. Congrats on your success with the TV shows mate. I'm really glad they have finally picked up at least an Aussie or a Kiwi. About bloody time. You're pretty fortunate getting picked up, I've been looked over twice so far, due to my "can I bow hunt the Bears" questions during casting Interviews, so well done dude, all the best with your future, and if you're ever in Aus, gimme a bell.

    Pure gold. Also amazing on making your bow, that's very very hard to do. I shoot with a club and there are enthusiasts there, that made their own. They had many breakages and failed attempts before they finally made one that held together and shot well.

  • @kevseadog
    @kevseadog 7 лет назад +6

    Sometimes it goes that way my friend. It is heartbreaking especially when the shot produced enough blood that you would think the animal should have dropped soon. It has happened to us all. It is clear in the vid that you did your best to retrieve it and I don't think any true hunter would think less of you for it. My buddy Martijn and I carve a lot of bows and hunt with stone points out here in California, so we were both impressed with your bow goat hunt. Keep at it and keep the good vids coming. We love them!!!! Kevin

    Liked your video mate. Beautiful country you have there. I'm bow hunting for whitetail deer in the northeast US with either my 64 inch long bow or 62 inch recurve. I love bow hunting as its a real challenge to get within 20 yards of a deer. I see you using a 4 blade broadhead. I use a 2 blade as I think it penetrates better when using traditional bows. Keep up the good work, and good luck hunting.

    i believe theres a video of a hyena that got into a fight with a lion on youtube. Most of the skin on his head was missing, and he was likely going to die over the course of a few weeks or so from infection. Animals do much more painful things to each other then a few goats getting shot (by someone who had intentions to eat, not to be a masochist). This is really cool man, thank you for posting this, theres also a video on youtube about a 70 lb pvc/fiberglass longbow, you might want to look at that.

    Advanced archery are a pretty good crowd, I'll vouch for em! I just use my fingers to prevent that knocking of the arrow. If you've just hiked up from miles away and got the old adrenaline going stalking an animal it's a lot easier to draw your shot if you just use your fingers to stabilise and prevent that knocking or worse, dropping the arrow off its rest and not getting it drawn at all. Particularly for newbies who under target practise conditions can draw a heavy weight and think that higher is better but arms are tired from carrying the bow and adrenaline is pumping you can't draw as much as you would on the range.

    My boy shot a 8 point whitetail last season. Almost point blank 10 feet from him! .303 Enfield, he jumped up and chased it 100 yards! then we had to drag it (seemed like a mile) 250 yards straight up an old logging road. 200lbs of meat AFTER we gutted it! Now he knows to set still and let them bleed out. Waiting is the toughest part.

    Just a shout to everyone getting butthurt over this video, claiming animal cruelty:
    You are watching a video entitled "bow hunting goats with home made longbow." Don't expect a cute cat to lick some snow in this video. It's about bow hunting.
    Second of all, the meat that is sold at supermarkets is more often than not kept and killed in a much nastier way. If you think that every animal gets bolted in the back of the head before getting band-sawed up, think again. Whilst I hunt by the, "Kill it only to eat or to not be infected or eaten," mantra, the fact of the matter is this. An animal bleeding out in 5 mins is a lot less than they usually get in the wild. It is a lot less that they get in abattoirs. Your average hunter will cause an animal far less pain than most. Grow up, get educated and stop preaching on videos you know will get a response. It's attention whoring and the internet could do without you. Good day.

    my 2015 hunting vid. I had some real close calls this season with bow but concluded with rifle. The one point : In future never even point a arrow even a field tip towards your self. You ran down a bank! Always quiver your arrows unless right ready to shoot. Very rought bow there whew next one will be better ☺.

    hi, i need your help, im looking to start recurve archery and ive been looking for a bow everywhere, ive followed all the guides and they all say i need a 66" bow. why is it so hard to find one this size. i was maybe thinking its because recurves or different or something. (im sorry for my stupidity, im very new to this)

      Pretty sure it's Lance wood. If you find a nice straight one that's a decent size it's not hard to make
