Lived in that gray ass town for a few years. Let's hear it for us navy brats. I'll be honest though. It was pretty fucking chill. Having nothing to do and nowhere to go is real appealing when you're in your 30s. Live in Memphis now I tell people Bremerton is like suburban Cordova with a sprinkle of Millington and a fuck ton of gray. I laughed my ass off at this video on how wet and gray everything is. People be like "Mt St Helens looks so pretty today." Bitch, where do you see anything? It's gray. Everything is fucking gray.
I started playing guitar by learning the riffs from this song. Those riffs got me a spot in a band which toured the country multiple times. Thanks to this guy singing about some town, I changed my entire life. Thanks, MXPX. You quite literally changed my life.
I met Mike Herrera at a Sam Ash acoustic show he was doing here in Nashville, he was super chill and cool. I don't think he expected the turnout that the store show had though as it was in the mid 00s!
Used to listen to this album two or three times in a row when I was 12. I turned 39 today and I still love these songs. They remind me of NOFX. great time in my life. School, friends, skating... I miss the 90s.
i absolutely adore this band, i first heard them back when i was like 14, im 33 now and still love them and i am now sharing them with my son whos nine and he is digging them. thanks mxpx for awesome music
I'm also 33 coming back to listen to this band. I first heard them some time when I was in high school so I first heard them around the same time. I think I was 15. I don't know what it is about this song but I like the sound of it.
Same here. I first heard them when I was 14. My girlfriend introduced me to MxPx and all other genres of punk. I'm 34 now. I dont wear stud belts and chuck Taylor's anymore but the love is still there.
I lived in Bremerton thanks to the Navy. I loved it around there. Reminded me of Amherst, NY in how everyone was friendly. I did miss my hometown for the food but Bremerton was a great town to move to.
I suddenly have the strange urge to move to Bremerton. Man, these guys definately are one of the best bands out there (if not the best) MxPx FOR LIFE!!
I was born and raised in Bremerton 71-89 and had heard of these guys but never heard their stuff until just now. All because Adam Woo made a video about their video for this song. I like them. Very catchy music. I was always into Metal growing up but I'm surprised I hadn't heard any of their songs. Thanks Adam.
Bremerton is my home town and I gotta say listening to this song makes me love it even more!! and now I kinda just wanna just go to brem and sing this shii all day😂💕
Right? Not only is it kinda wild to see/remember how Seattle looked in the 90s but a lot of the shots they used in this video really highlight what it's like to live on the Kitsap peninsula.
@@rhec806 I grew up in Sydney, Australia and listened to this song in high school in the 90s. I oddly, at some point in my life ended in Port Angeles WA because of a girl....lived there for 8 years lol and Seattle for another 4. I miss Washington but its gone to shit...Id never move back.
Bro for real. Like I walked up those steps everyday at CKHS, I went to that K-mart as a kid and always took my late father to the bar in the same parking lot.
I moved to Seattle recently and the minute I saw there was ferries to Bremerton I started to sing this song. And no, I didn't know where Bremerton was before
I live in Bremerton. Was born in Scotland but my mother was born here. She meet my dad who was n the Navy stationed in Bremerton they got married then he got stationed Scotland. Love this song and band, seen them many times, mostly high school days, the music never left the soul! Now I'm just across the bridge in Tacoma from Bremerton!
I took the ferry to Bremerton from Seattle back in '16 while on business in bothell. I went on a Sunday and mostly everything was closed 😔. I've always loved this song and I'm glad I made it there anyways
I lived there until I was 20 (1980). The best thing about Bremerton was there was an easy ferry ride to Seattle for entertainment. I do not miss it at all - although only 40 miles away now, I never go back.
I lived in Bremerton for a few years and loved it. If you base everything off of the busier places of any town, you're going to have a lower opinion of it. Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo, etc. have beautiful places to see if you're willing to leave the concrete behind. I live on the other side of the Sound now and, while I love where we are now, I still miss Bremerton.
I'ma hip hop/CRUNK rap head through & through but in high school my homie who i used to blaze wit everyday from Seattle loved Mxpx & grunge rock put me onto this cut & i bump it at least once a week ever since. They are hella underrated.
I took the ferry to Bremerton 4 years ago and didn't know why it seemed so familiar! I thought it was Deja vu but apparently it's my teenage years seeping to the surface!!
Sir Mix-a-lot warns people about Bremelo women, but MxPx wants you to move there. Still add this to my playlist every time. The nostalgia brings me back to being at university, with a crush on a girl from Silverdale. Still a great tune in 2018.
i read that Mike Hererra has worked to distance himself from his past xtian stance; but the real question remains: what are his current beliefs regarding living in Bremerton
They should redo this video :) I kept trying to figure out where they were for the whole thing; that K Mart closed down a while back cuz it was in the most sketch area of town, the shipyard is right down the road from where my brother got married a few months ago, CKHS is in Silverdale, and obv the Space Needle is across the water.
I’ll never forget watching you guys run all over the Seattle Center grounds. I think I saw you guys play 3 shows in one day. Then you played before the Foos. I was there.

I lived in the Sequim/Port Angeles area in my junior/senior years of high school and we always hung out in silverdale/bremerton, love the song but the city kinda sucks lol...
I live in Alabama but when I visited a friend in Seattle, I made sure I took the ferry across the sound to visit Bremerton because of this song. 😊
The TSAR which part? Did you stay in west Bremerton or did you end up going more towards Silverdale
