I enjoy the references to features like the exergue line on the 1940. The reference books that i have make little reference to errors and such out side the 1926.
i had a look through the few 1D coins i have at home and to my delight i found that out of the 5 1918 coins one had the H mint mark. i have had most of these coins since the 1970s and until i started watching your coin hunts had no idea of the variations to be found. thank you for cramming my brain with more stuff.
Another fun hunt to watch. The Victoria and Edward pennies are my favorites… especially when they show so much circulation history. Can’t help but wonder the things they’ve seen.
A lot more spaces filled today and two Smiffy bingo lines completed with the 1940 and 1913 😊👌. The Jersey 1923 is an amazing find and in fabulous condition considering its age .
Many people already commented about it but I'll say it too, that 1923 Jersey is stunning! I wouldn't blame you of you'd wanted to keep it. I like reading about heraldry so I decided to look up the leopard/lions thing. In short the actual animals depicted are meant to be lions (including manes) but they way in which they are depicted was referred to as leopards in medieval heraldry. This way being "Lion Passant Guardant", or walking on all fours and looking towards the observer.
Coin Patrol "The Master of Penny Monies" 🤣 🤷♀. Why do I get a little disappointment with a skinny hunt when you can pull out so many interesting coins. 1923 Jersey 👀✨. 😎🍀💜
Loved that 1923 Jersey coin. Superb condition for nearly 100 years old 👌. Loads more spaces filled, and I wasn't aware of the exeru.., exeg.., double line on the 1940 😁
I've just finished sorting out my grandads pennies and your videos on the different varieties helped so much. Thank you for the great information and putting it across so easily to follow with photos.
2 Bingo lines completed 🤗 I wonder where the first vertical line will complete first (1934 or a 1948 maybe) A lovely 1923 Jersey in lovely condition for a 99 year old coin ✨ Great stuff 👍🏻
never get tired of watching these penny hunts, i've been inspired by these hunts to revisit my pre decimal coin collection and at present i am a trying to complete a shilling date run back to 1900, On another note i come across a Edward 7th florin, what a glorius design of Britannia. might have to start looking at collecting a date run of florins. anyway, thanks for posting, keep up the great videos, look forward to the next one.
Glad to see another 1d hunt Paul. A bit late in commenting, had the "wonderful" Covid so been off my laptop. So a pull out of the hat would be great!!!
Absolutely love watching your videos mate, I watch loads of different things on RUclips. I mean loads. Your penny hunt videos are probably the ones I look forward to the most. Please keep them coming. In fact, I may even join, which I never do. To help keep them coming, have a good Xmas bud
Thank you for your support Trystan. I glad you like the videos, and thank you very much for becoming a member of the channel. It's very much appreciated. 👍
Love that Jersey refused to acknowledge the penny so kept with 1/12 of a shilling. Never seen a farthing from there but presumably it was marked as 1/48 of a shilling.
Another great hunt! The Italian 10 centesimi's mint mark is H, which funnily enough stands for the Heaton Works. They produced coins for Italy during the 19th century alongside Italy's own mints in major cities. 1866 is an important year for Italy's story of creation, as it gained the Veneto region from the Austrians after the latter lost the Austro-Prussian War of that year. So Vittorio Emanuele's coins between 1861-1870 depict him as the King of a not-yet-complete Italy! Side note: I personally pronounce exergue as "ek-zerg"! ;)
Fun hunt, the 66 Jersey had nice mint lister but the 23 definitely beats it. I love that King George V portrait too. Hopefully you start finding some old Victoria young heads in the next hunt!
Lovely toning on that 1923 Jersey penny.
Great stuff Paul.... keep'em coming
Thank you 👍
Nice selection of dates this time round. Those big pennies are pretty awesome ..

Three lions on our coins, coin patrols still gleaming, no more years of hurt. 🦁 🦁 🦁

I always love jerseys don't know why just love the title behind it "The Bailiwick"
Fun hunt, love the Jersey coin.
Cheers Paul. Yes, the Jersey 1923 was a great find 👍
Lovely 1923 Jersey 👍
Great looking lot. And thank you for all the info.
I'd figure it was 3 lions, something to do with the royal coat of arms
Another excellent Penny coin hunt...
Glad to see another 1d hunt Paul. A bit late in commenting, had the "wonderful" Covid so been off my laptop. So a pull out of the hat would be great!!!
Wow!
Wow what a cracking 1923 jersey penny! Lovely patina on it
Just brought my first pre-decimal pennies (1862). Paid £1.85 for 2, one very rough and one slick. The slick one is now officially my lucky penny
Nice one 👍
That 1923 was a nice find

Thank you for your support Trystan. I glad you like the videos, and thank you very much for becoming a member of the channel. It's very much appreciated. 👍
😁 love you having a pop at the awful designs of our current circulating coins.
Great episode, I think that Jersey coin is the first we've seen of that design.
Love that Jersey refused to acknowledge the penny so kept with 1/12 of a shilling. Never seen a farthing from there but presumably it was marked as 1/48 of a shilling.
Hi Roger, Yes, some were marked as 1/48th of a shilling and some early Victorian ones were marked as 1/52 of a shilling.
Ah, the old 13 pennies to the shilling ruse to tie the Jersey penny to the French currency
The 1923 jersey penny is great - best find in this hunt yet!
Wow!! The 1923 Jersey is superb - beautiful patina
Some great finds this time... But I'll join everyone else in loving the 1923 Jersey... They are definitely lions though!
Yes, you're right. Most people are saying Lions. Thanks for watching Kevin 👍
That '23 Jersey is a nice one! How it managed to stay in that condition over the last 100 years, I'll never know.
Another great hunt!

Hi Sam, I hope they scrap the shield design for the Charles III coins
Fun hunt, the 66 Jersey had nice mint lister but the 23 definitely beats it. I love that King George V portrait too. Hopefully you start finding some old Victoria young heads in the next hunt!
