Usually movies like this the storyline sucks and doesn't make sense but they actually came up with a really clever way of doing this movie with having Jason striking fear into the community to make them think that it's Freddy Krueger and it makes people start to remember Freddy Krueger and brings him back because that's what powers him so it actually makes sense
This was one of the better scripts they had for the whole FvJ concept. There were a TON of scripts too and the majority of them were absolute crap. There's a reason this film was in development hell for a long time going back to Friday the 13th Part 7.
They gotta make a live action adaptation of Freddy vs Jason vs Ash! Tho I guess it’s unlikely now, considering the actor is now too old play Ash again. At least that’s what I heard…
Anyone who didnt like this movie wasnt a fan of these series in the 1st place. Also, they have no idea how INSANE this was seeing it in a theater. I was there opening weekend.. it was like going to Wrestlemania... the theater was PACKED, the crowd was HYPED.. people were cheering for their favorite, casting JA-SON or FRED-DY on some scenes, throwing popcorn...stomping their feet.. it was one of the greatest movie theater experience I've ever had.
The theater I saw it at was packed and the crowd went nuts at all the right parts, especially once they started fighting in the real world at the remains of the camp.
I remember going to the theatres when I was ten years old. My parents took me to go see tomb raider: cradle of life, and I wanted so bad to see Freddy vs Jason that I snuck into the theatre at the moment when Laurie was at the police station and remember when she winds up by the front door bleeding with blood and Freddy comes right to her face, shit had me jumping, I noticed I was at the theatre too long so I left but that was fun times
Oh, it was a great experience. I pulled for Jason because Freddy was a child molester. But the interaction between the two camps was good natured and fun. Horror version of WWF and WWE.
My favorite memory of seeing this in theaters was a guy behind me during the scene where they’re transporting Jason the Camp Crystal Lake in the van. A man deadass says, “I didn’t know Elm Street was right down the road from Camp Crystal Lake. Ya learn sumthin’ new every day.” 😂
OMG White Gold’s comment, “we don’t need no drunk Jason. Can you imagine the decisions he’d make?” had to be the funniest thing I’ve heard all day!!!! 😂😂😂
I don't know who called this movie silly because its one of the best horror films. Good story and horror stayed true to Freddy and Jason origins while using their strengths and weaknesses its perfect. The only grip could be is the acting. Saw this in the movies and after everybody was talking about it after.
Some of the kills were cartoon-like with the over the top blood and quick edit cuts. Still an awesome movie but if it was a bit darker, it would've been 10/10 for me instead of 8/10
Jason was boring but it's hard not to be when the other killer is Freddy. Freddy has personality. Jason does not since he is silent and wears a mask. I figured that Is why he got more kills and Freddy got more screen time that way it seemed more equal I guess

Freddy and Jason was by far the 2 most popular and powerful in the 1980's which was the peak of the slasher genre. Micheal wasn't a big deal at that time . He went 7 years without being in a film during the peak. After Jason Lives and Dream Warriors the debate was on.
You should definitely read the book "Slash of the Titans: the road to Freddy Vs Jason". It got the entire behind the scenes about how long it took and why including script treatments from various writers and interviews... Fascinating stuff.

The dad's behavior might seem crazy until you consider that he knows about Freddy Krueger and is trying to protect his daughter from him. In all actuality he is really just a desperate parent who sees history repeating itself and is trying to save his kid from a dream demon.
Another crossover that was discussed & seriously considered was a Chucky vs. Leprechaun!! I think it would’ve been boss af if they would’ve went through with it but oh well lol. Another amazing idea that we’ll likely never see 😢

The main problem with them making these crossovers is that alot of these different studios own the rights to alot of these different characters. Sucks because there could be some awesome crossovers but I don't think alot of them will ever happen.

Before Freddy vs. Jason there were Godzilla vs. King Kong(which were horror at the time) and multiple crossovers between Frankenstein, Dracula, Wolfman and other classic horror movie monsters of the black and white era. And after Freddy vs. Jason there came 2 Alien vs. Predator movies, multiple Gingerbread man vs. Evil Bong movies and 1 Sadako vs. Kayako movie for example
They also turned Freddy into an mma fighter lol, I've seen this man get his ass kicked every time he's in the normal world, and all of a sudden he knows how to fight.

And even i a huge horror nerd.... Was getting sick of seeing it.) Im still glad i watched in theaters though. The only horror character to give me nightmares was freddy, and i always thought Jason was cool. So i have been team jason ever since i was 4 or 5. My older sister is team freddy. (i was born into this horror rivalry haha)

Every film from parts 6-9 ended with him being contained, and the remaining victims escaping-not death. His one and only job is to protect his resting place for intruders and do what he thinks his mother wants. Once he's done, he goes right back into rest until a new situation arises. In this movie, a new situation arose, and so he went back to work.
Personally I think a great option for a horror crossover would be Michael Myers vs Ghostface. Where the new Ghostface is MM copycat and it brings the real Michael Myers out of retirement.

I love crossovers, and this was one of my favorite movies. It didn't really feel like a horror film. Though they technically killed each other, I think freddy was the better combatant. Jason took way more damage for longer than freddy did in either real or dream. But I guess freddy was a conscious grown adult, where Jason was a more mindless zombie. The 2000s had some of the best movies in modern cinema.
In my own opinion I think that this movie, original nightmare on elm & the second Friday the 13th is tied for my as my favorites that Jason & Freddy starred in. You are probably too young to remember but they was talkin about a movie with Freddy and Jason fighting each other back in the 1980s. So even people in their 20s to 40s was taking their kids to see this when it came out. The perfect Halloween movie
There was a fun comic series called Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Ash from the evil dead and the remaining dream warriors return to battle Jason and Freddy. If you watch Jason Goes to Hell and pay close attention to the ending there is a quick shot of The Necronomicon from evil dead on a table.
freddy is faster but jason is stronger, jason's punches hit like a truck but freddy will cut jason 5 times before jason can throw one strong punch, anyway if this was Uber Jason freddy would be destroyed in one hit in the real world
Clearly Jason got smashed by freddie. Jason died and it took teens to kill freddie. They are both alive in the end.. but it's most likely Jason dreaming, meaning freddie is alive and will kill him again
I wish they had used more practical effects. Plus I felt like the actors weren't feeling the motivation. But I still love it for what it gave to horror.

Just so ya'll know the ending means that it was a draw and I didn't know that when I first saw it when I was a teenager at the time but so many years later till now I understood what the ending meant.💯
I remember first seeing FvJ in theaters and loving every minute of it. The movie was a dream come true for fans of both franchise's.

Anytime i watch this movie, i think about how i didnt even have a chance to watch this in theaters...too young to even understand the fact that i will never have a theater experience that intense. Anyone trying to see if time travel is possible?

to me it's clear that Jason won, cuz who was the man holding freddy's head in his hand at the end? Jason. Nuff said, that wink of freddy's was just a gag for the audience but that doesn't change the fact that Jason was clean.
Jason died b4 freddie did.. jason needed help from the teens, and was still the last one standing. Freddie winking in the end indicates jason is dreaming, bringing freddie back to life

Zombie Jason has never died. He can only be contained until the person escapes. Every film from parts 6-9 ended with him being contained, and the remaining victims escaping-not death.
His one and only job is to protect his resting place for intruders and do what he thinks his mother wants. Once he's done, he goes right back into rest until a new situation arises. In this movie, a new situation arose, and so he went back to work.
Personally I think a great option for a horror crossover would be Michael Myers vs Ghostface. Where the new Ghostface is MM copycat and it brings the real Michael Myers out of retirement.

I love crossovers, and this was one of my favorite movies. It didn't really feel like a horror film.
Though they technically killed each other, I think freddy was the better combatant. Jason took way more damage for longer than freddy did in either real or dream. But I guess freddy was a conscious grown adult, where Jason was a more mindless zombie.
The 2000s had some of the best movies in modern cinema.

In my own opinion I think that this movie, original nightmare on elm & the second Friday the 13th is tied for my as my favorites that Jason & Freddy starred in. You are probably too young to remember but they was talkin about a movie with Freddy and Jason fighting each other back in the 1980s. So even people in their 20s to 40s was taking their kids to see this when it came out. The perfect Halloween movie

There was a fun comic series called Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Ash from the evil dead and the remaining dream warriors return to battle Jason and Freddy. If you watch Jason Goes to Hell and pay close attention to the ending there is a quick shot of The Necronomicon from evil dead on a table.

Clearly Jason got smashed by freddie. Jason died and it took teens to kill freddie. They are both alive in the end.. but it's most likely Jason dreaming, meaning freddie is alive and will kill him again

Actress Betsy Palmer, who played Pamela Voorhees & was the original killer in the first "Friday The 13th," said when she first read the script, her reaction was "What a piece of s***!!!" The only reason why she eventually accepted the role was she needed the money to buy a new car and her daughter suggested the Volkswagen Scriocco, that cost $10,000. They were offering Betsy $1k for 10 day each for shooting the movie. Rest is horror history!

Just so ya'll know the ending means that it was a draw and I didn't know that when I first saw it when I was a teenager at the time but so many years later till now I understood what the ending meant.💯
