I love that you explained "this smells old" association! I always thought the same. I have all three Orebella scents and Window2Soul smells like if you were smelling an earthy rose garden with mint leaves in the background. Maybe it's the "earthy" part that makes people associated with old but I personally think it smells like a fresh rose soap. Super wearable!
Hi Emma! I agree, it is overwhelming in general when you get bombarded with a whole collection of fragrances. I think Fendi is trying to follow the way Celine released their collection, even mirroring the minimal fragrance note disclosure. Glad you have been able to upload more frequently .
I really love watching your perfume videos more than the others because you go tell the story of this and that ingredient, or why "old" perfume had very strong musks to it. As much as I love hearing about new fragrances, I want to learn little history and tidbits here and there and you really shine in that. Thank you and keep up the great work!
And I'll add: I wonder if 30-40-50 years from now kids at that era will say that gourmand perfumes smell like grandma! Because gourmand is all the trend right now. Will they say Bianco Latte is like visiting grandma when she would bake cookies for them? LOL
Finally! Someone ACTUALLY reviewing that Cirque Du Soleil perfume. I havent seen anyone talk about it in the youtube fragrance comm. thank you for this video ❤ keep em coming!
@@Happytravellerkimmy i only ever saw ads on instagram and facebook. Maybe its online exclusive only? It felt like I was the only one who doesn’t like solar/beachy notes & fragrances! Everyone raves about these notes & I heard soo much hype about the St.Barts fragrance, so I went to Sephora to try it and had the exact same screechy unpleasant experience as you! I’m glad to hear I’m not alone in this opinion.
so glad u liked coco fleur!! I got it in a sephora discovery set & had a feeling you'd like it. it's really not what you would necessarily expect based on the notes!!!
I love listening to you talk about fragrance! I don’t have a big collection so I live vicariously through you lol. I’m on the hunt for a unique but wearable signature scent 💕
I’m been LOVING the new pink sol de janeiro body mist!!! I wish they had it in a perfume concentration because it’s such a perfect almond sweet floral scent! I’ve been craving a nutty perfume and this is perfect!!
I used to work in an assisted living facility and those ladies loved Fendi fragrances, I think maybe they were probably really popular a few decades ago.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Charlotte tilbury fragrances as I’m curious about whether you agree that they’re as underwhelming as some other creators have thought! I’d also love to see some vlog-ish content like your “what perfumes I wear in a week” video because that format was super fun :) love your channel and have been binging all your videos the past week! 💕
I totally agree with your point about listing more notes, but because I'm really picky with some notes that everyone seems to like or not mind but ruin a perfume for me
There’s soooooo many beach tropical coconuts at this point, and 75% smell like sunscreen, all thanks to the Soleil Blanc trend. I miss the days where we’d get a gourmand coconut that smelled like Cheirosa 39. That’s what I always associated coconut with, not sunscreen. Also I sniffed all the CT perfumes through the bottle and I insanely knew it was a no for me. They’re giving me Tom Ford vibes and I don’t like Tom Ford vibes. I don’t know how you could make a rose somehow smell medicinal. Ugh it’s alright. I’ll save my money.
My mom used to wear the og fendi fragrance just called fendi, I still have a bottle! It was a gorgeous scent, very spicy and feminine at the same time, she would get so many compliments on it!
I totally feel you on the good day bad day spray thing! I had best day when I could barely smell my Delina but over sprayed for a birthday dinner and I was so self conscious that it ruined my night 😅
Omg- I have been looking for a perfume that smells like a tortilla. Madewell had a perfume Sedona that was discounted and it reminded me of tortillas I grew up with. I am buying coco fleur asap!
Fendi used to have epic perfumes but it’s been a long time. But I REALLY have to disagree with you about the marketing. Literally every single house starting a new line comes out with 4-6 fragrances at once and then adds 1 at a time. Even kayali started with I think 5 perfumes. Born to standout. Kilian. Memo. I can’t think of any house that started with a single fragrance.
I actually think we might be on the same page here! I meant a "slow release" as come out with 4-5 initially and then keep 2-3 of the rest as seasonal launches. I also think that only 1 would be far too little to establish a fragrance line, I just think 7 is a lot at once. 4-5 is the perfect sweet spot + keep some extras for later to keep us talking!
@@perfumerism 4 is great I think. Like “I am here. Take a look”. These charlotte tilburies are a lot to me and the fact that the names are not really descriptive makes it harder I think. I though am looking forward to the Fendi. I had a sample of Fendi Fendi for like 25 years until it dried up. I loved sniffing that vial.
Good point on the "old" association. For me this is Neroli - because my grandma only ever wore 4711 "Kölnisch Wasser", literally "the water of Cologne" ("Kölnisch" is the adjective meaning: coming from the city Cologne (originally: Köln) in Germany, after which btw all "colognes" are named colognes ...) I think the company marketing 4711 nowadays is called Mäurer & Wirtz - sorry for all the umlauts but that's how German works ..
Emma oh my gosh. So I ordered the Cirque du Soleil and it arrived today. I was so excited when the box arrived that I opened it up on my front porch and when I pulled the cylinder packaging out of the box, somehow the plastic wrap wasn’t connected to the bottom and IT FELL ON CONCRETE. I find it so odd that people associate old lady with roses because most of todays grandmas wore poison, opium or tresor which are not fresh rose. Or they wore mossy chypres from the 70s. Grandmas in the 1920s were into soliflore florals 😂 just a pet peeve of mine
I think with Fendi they are trying to do the thing that Chanel and Dior have done with their exclusive fragrance line. They just want to establish that collection all at once.

Sorry to jump in the conversation but I just really love blackberry! Lol So I don't know if it's your style of fragrance but I really loved the blackberry note in Pink Me Up! Charlotte Tillbury love s*x (I think that’s the name) actually smells SO good!!! The notes look horrific to me but I saw it and smelled it for fun and it’s the NICEST leather omg
not me watching every video you put out knowing that my budget for perfumes is pretty much nonexistent 😅 i just love the way you explain scents. also i wholeheartedly agree with the "it smells old" thing. i think that many of our grandmas wore perfumes with rose and violet notes because they have been tried and true notes for so long. but that doesn't mean they can't be used by young people or that they can't be made into a modern perfume. i remember how pleasantly surprised i was when i smelled a couple of the delinas in store because i was so apprehensive about the rose notes. it also just rubs me the wrong way when ppl say that in a certain tone, as if "old" was an insult. we're so obsessed with staying young as a society that it permeates even when it comes to fragrance. idk i will probably never wear miss dior or diorissimo because to me they're my grandma's scents (she was a loyal dior girlie), but i would never tell someone that is wearing them that they smell like a dead old lady, that's just rude. there are many ways to express that you don't like or vibe with a fragrance that aren't insulting and it seems many people don't know that (I've seen more than a few heated arguments and insults in fragrantica comments... yikes).
I find that some people resort to saying “smells like and old lady”, “old man”, or “smells like a man” if the fragrance is flowery or aromatic or if it’s just not sweet enough 🤷🏼♀️
@@sabrinasjourney bold of you to assume what my grandma wore and presume to know better than me lol she did actually wear perfumes that leaned heavily on those notes. pretty sure the ones I mentioned feature them as well and in any case, those notes haven't gone anywhere for decades if not centuries. so yeah, my grandma wore them and maybe my grandma's grandma as well, because they've always been featured prominently in at least one or two fragrances for ages
I was shocked by how much I didn’t like Love Delight on me. Based on the notes, I thought this would’ve been right up my alley but it’s a hard pass. On the other hand, I can’t wait to try a couple of the Fendi fragrances and Regime Des Fleurs Cacti.
Just a heads up on new perfume releases on Fragrantica, people like to vote on what it could smell like just by the notes. I'm sure there are some people who get to try the new releases earlier but it's a "thing" on Fragrantica for people doing wacky votes the first few days of a new drop. The reminds me of section becomes more trustworthy the longer the perfume has been out.
Off-topic and also late to the party but ... dear lady, your arms and shoulders are so in shape, it really shows that you're rock climbing - and also lifting I guess? Respect.

I find that some people resort to saying “smells like and old lady”, “old man”, or “smells like a man” if the fragrance is flowery or aromatic or if it’s just not sweet enough 🤷🏼♀️
They actually didn't wear roses and violets 😂 at least not YOUR grandma. Maybe.your grandma's grandma
I’m gonna blind buy this cirque du soleil one and if I don’t like it I will blame you 😂😂 ❤
I hope you like it!! If you like a gourmand it’s very nice!
Sad… the Fendi bottles use to be kinda funky! These look like the Celine bottles
My friend and I call salted muse “Bella hadid pickle water” 😅
You neeeeeeeed to sample BTSO Dirty Rice. Trussss meeee
I have the full bottle!!
NEW EMMA VIDEO

That's so funny, smelling perfume, not realizing it's your own -- "Who is she? Who is she? It me."

Off-topic and also late to the party but ... dear lady, your arms and shoulders are so in shape, it really shows that you're rock climbing - and also lifting I guess? Respect.
