I did find a podcast "ruling" from Caleb stating “after attacks” & “after defends” both resolve immediately after the attack resolves. (hallofheroeslcg.com/official-ffg-rulings/#klaw). Yes, this game can get confusing ... hence the confusion cards in this game, of which one is permanently taped to my forehead. ;)
This was my first time watching one of your videos, Dale. You have a great sense of presentation: you move through the game at a nice pace, providing just the right level of narration. And I've been really struggling with Drax, so it's rewarding to see someone run him successfully. Subscribing.

I love how you change up the villains when you do a first play. I always just go with Rhino when learning a deck. So entertaining to watch these first plays! Can't wait for Drax to arrive.
@writerguy911 Well Rhino can still get that 1st turn win playing solo, and even with Crossbones having 3 schemes, he can go through those quickly too. Seemed like a good first play match-up. :)
Drax looks great! I can't wait to have him and try some decks with him, I think I'm gonna play him two handed to test protection, I agree with you that solo prot is not the best hahaha.
@Fernando Vila Drax is fun. Even with a 4 card hand size in hero form, the cards that allow him to draw after attacking, and to ready (even though it means the villain attacks) really do help him work. :)
Btw with crossbone the encounter set is hydra assault not hydra patrol (printed correctly in the campaign book). This is the most annoying misprint so far imo.

Did my first plays with them both today with their pre-con decks. Found them both pretty fun! I know you prefer Justice & Aggression decks, but always cool to see you work with Protection every once in a while! 🤓
Brutally quick! I can see Drax milling his deck quick which means extra encounter cards but he is looking good. It would be good to see him against a tougher opponent as you made Crossbones look easy. Side Note: 3 attempts to defeat Red Skull and 3 losses, last loss he had one hit point left!!!
Additional encounter cards are pretty irrelevant and not often worth considering when using abilities. Usually the juice is far more worth the squeeze to get more cards faster.

I haven’t had a chance to play Drax yet. He came a few days late and then I didn’t realize I was out of sleeves so I’m now waiting on those to arrive 😭
That went about how I expected. Drax strikes me as the kind of hero that loves going face on the villain. You did Clea dirty not reshuffling her in. She is my favorite ally when playing Strange (prot). In other news, my better 3/4 is now playing along with me. And they said my getting all those expansions was madness.
@@DaletheCasualGamer still pulled out the W, and had fun in under 20mins. I think this game, has some of the most fun per minute solo play ive taken on.

Played him for the first time today with his precon against Rhino standard. First game I didnt stand a change, Rhino did outscheme me... Second game was really close. I think Drax (the precon at least) isnt very good at true solo...
Rhino is tough solo, he can hit for a lot, and potentially scheme out in one turn with the wrong encounter cards. I think, at best, all Previn decks need some modification especially against certain villains. Good luck!
Does Counter-Punch trigger when you defend or after the attack has resolved when you defended. Some FFG rulings imply it happens after damage is applied but was played differently here?
@Mike Howes I'm not sure, and don't get any incite from FFG on how to play. I see that it could trigger after you actually defend (exhaust your character) or after the attack. If there's an official ruling, let me know. Thanks for watching! :)

Maybe in the next rules update they will provide a timing chart. lol They define "After" as a game occurrence that just happened ... so is defending "exhausting" your character or after the attack. I don't know for sure. ;) Still having fun with the game though, but still a lot of rules, timings, etc. that could use some clarification.

Nice, just took on Expert Rhino solo yesterday. He has some incredible survivability.

When he attacked at 5:56 you dealt 6 damage to his, but I guess you forgot that you had Retaliate 1 :)
Retaliate is one of those things I'm likely to forget for both the heroes and the villain. :)

4:00 You could play Leading Blow when you made a basic ATK, you draw a card, ATK again and then play Clea :)
Definitely more than one way to play, go for definite damage, or take a risk. :)

Lot's of options and choices while playing this game ... I wanted to save that for a riskier moment. :)

5:56 I think "after you hero defends" is after you are dealt dmg minus the DEF.

You get to draw a card when drax has 3 counters on him and get attacked by the villain.

6:50 According to rules you should do the Incite step first, cause it can be relevant in some cases :)
I don't believe that had an impact on the game.
