Must’ve been too busy flexing when he first met her-that’s probably why he forgot. ’Cause he can’t really waver when he’s Shadow, so he probably concentrates on machine-like precision for his choreography and movements-that means he can’t really afford to look at her or pay attention to her as easily.

I think that you guys underestimate how kind Cid can be. A lot of the things he does for other people isn’t because he views them as “ants he likes” or because they’re useful to them. His behavior in general really isn’t one you see on a narcissist. He taught the Seven Shadows valuable lessons about life for 3 years, even though he didn’t need them, nor did he intend to gather more people than 1 member for Shadow Garden. It’s technically cut content but he _did_ say in the light novel, after the girls left him when he was 13, that he didn’t need them-and he was coping really hard with the fact that to him, they left him-that’s why his main coping mechanism in social relationships is isolationism, and that’s why he doesn’t open up to people.
His kindness is especially obvious in Marie’s case. She didn’t help him and barely did anything nice or useful to him-yet he still helped her. He was also boiling with anger when he found out what Lutheran did to Sherry back in S1E9-he really isn’t as narcissistic as you guys think. Not to mention, I think it’s important to understand that localization can make him seem more narcissistic than he really is, because the word choices and the tones of those words can be different than how they are in the original Japanese-It’s a common factor in localization, so you should take that with a pinch of salt and not judge him by what could potentially be bad wording of the localization and not completely accurate to what he said. ’Cause he 100% doesn’t think of any characters as NPCs, nor does he think that what he’s doing is a “schtick.” I don’t know if I told you this before, or if I did but you forgot, but what he calls his vision for all this is “The Eminence in Shadows Play.” If you think about it twice, based on what words he uses, how he behaves and understands life, you can deduce that he’s using the theatrical term, not the “playing around” kind of sense of the word. You gotta be skeptical of localizations, because localizers themselves admitted before that most of them don’t know Japanese and are only doing the job after it’s already been translated. But that’s a topic for another day.
Either way, my point is-give Cid the benefit of the doubt, guys. He might be a goof, and also unaware of what’s going on, but he’s not a narcissist, and he’s capable of compassion. He’s just in a bit of an inner dilemma of trying to not open up to anyone-while at the same time-wanting to do it, as evident by his past behavior.

No. 559, aka Victoria, was once the leader of a group affiliated with the Church known as the Templars. Their job was to hunt down the possessed, believing their existence to be sinful. Naturally, she was an enemy of Shadow Garden (the Cult didn't like what the Templars were doing, either). She actually was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Alpha and Zeta simultaneously!
She lost her faith when she got possessed. But, once Shadow saved her, her faith (and fanaticism) was renewed. The only difference being she switched gods!

Generally Cid gets angry when stuff he likes gets interrupted, like Gettan stealing his money (as he thought) or Rose going for a scenario different from what he wants.
The only time he got genuinly angry for another person's sake was during the school terrorist attack arc after listening to Sherry's dad.

100% correct. The “tyrant” theory basically holds no weight to him ’cause it’s basically a place-holder quick theory he made. It’s evident by how quickly he switches up in S2E11 after he finds out more about Rose during _that_ scene.

10:00 This is basically the exact scene from when Rose got her powers. Even the thing she says. The only difference, japanese wise, is in the last letter/word/particle of the sentence. Rose wants to be the subject of something unspecified. 557 wants to be the direct object of something unspecified (though likely Shadow since he was the subject of the previous sentence). I thought it was neat.

Freya is Alexia's ancestor and was one of the 3 Heroes of the past, another was Olivier(Alpha's ancestor).
Most of the members of Shadow Garden do not know about Shadow's identity. Shadow also does not visit Alexandria many times, which it's the main base of the organization.
As for Cid, he just often doesn't pay any attention to the reports that he receives or quickly forgets about anything or any character not related to being a " Eminence in Shadow."
Rather than considering them as ants, it is more accurate to say that Cid's perspective makes him think of the rest as "secondary characters, main characters or simply as extras."

_“Rather than considering them as ants, it is more accurate to say that Cid's perspective makes him think of the rest as "secondary characters, main characters or simply as extras."”_
I think it’s more accurate to say that he views life as a “theater.” That’s why he calls his vision for it “The Eminence in Shadows Play.” It’s unlikely to be a coincidence, considering his knowledge of media and art.
But also: I don’t think he’s trying to be “an” eminence-his goal is to be _The_ Eminence in Shadows-the one and only-peerless and unparalleled. So there can’t be “an” Eminence in Shadows, because he’s the one who invented it.

He is essentially an actor if you take into account every role that he assumes as the story progresses.
Your argument raises the question of what will happen once the curtains close or in other words his vision ends?
Sometimes in Cid's monologues it is revealed that he intends to live quite a long time for perhaps 300 or 600 years. Or that at some point he will disappear, faking his death or something similar, reappearing later.
Do you think there will eventually be a breaking of the 4th wall?

@@LostTurtle-sds7_4kna We will never really know. It’s all in Aizawa-sensei’s hands. The biggest concerning part for me is how Cid will handle Sherry’s end-game. For anyone who pays attention, it’s obvious that Cid cares about Sherry-anyone who says otherwise has not paid any attention to the story, so it’s really hard to know what will happen, because Cid is a believer of the contingency theory-and that means he doesn’t pre-plan anything-he adapts.
