There is one very important detail in that tutorial. At 2:07 "Let's bring it to the top"! If new action stays below the dotted separator line then it doesn't appear in modified menu. (Or... actually seems it should not be below 'Show resent actions' row?). I struggled for hours to make it work... Win 10 and Reaper 6.59. Otherwise, nice tutorial, like always. ;)
I turn everything into buttons and hotkeys but this will work nicely for the options when i run out of hotkeys haha. I am just about there. Thanks again for the tricks today. I like the Screensets one too for big project templates that is a nice way to speed up workflow.
I know this comment is late to the party (!), but Kenny, you are awesome - I just asked myself "is there . . " and bam, here is the Kenny video - thanks for answers!
Is there a way for users to share with each other their menu customisations at any level: from full Portable Installs, to Install preference folder/.ini files, to ReaperMenuSet, or separate ReaperMenu, KeyMap or ConfigZip files? I searched the forums and cannot find any 'stable' examples. Or is sharing problematic due to many differences between computers?
current menus are stored in reaper-menu.ini file which doesn't seem to depend on the system/platform so this one can be shared otherwise a menu exported from the menu customization facility, like Kenny showed, can be shared but the main problem with sharing menus is that some items may end up being broken if they point at scripts/custom/cycle actions the target install doesn't have
Hey Kenny, I’ve asked this question around on Reddit and other message boards, and nobody so far has had the answer, you’re the only one I can think of who might know… So I have certain plugins, maybe 10% or so of the roughly 350-400 I have that when I go to load them, it just loads “Abstract Crystal Pads” by sample science (Presumably because it’s the first plugin alphabetically in my main VST folder?). Then from the presets drop down menu, instead of being able to navigate the presets, there’s a long list of seemingly random other plugins in that folder that I can switch to. It’s bizarre. My Reaper also seems to have a much harder than average time seeing plugins, whenever I download one it’s only like a 60% chance I’ll ever even get to use it, regardless what folder I put it in, how many times I clear the cache, etc
Thanks Kenny! I had asked about making a favorites menu in the previous video so thank you very much for showing how to do it using this method.

Excelent video!
You make Reaper the best DAW!

Interesting. I get so lost searching in the menu I sometimes have to Google it to find stuff.
That's really useful! Thanks!
You're a scholar and a gentleman
Next Reaper update: ability to create our own menus. Please.

@@ARE_YOU_SICK_OF_YT_CENSORSHIP Thank you. I "thought" users may have similar workflows and can share tools, but perhaps everyone is quite different!

Maybe a memory issue? I can't imagine having that many plugins! can you trim the quantity down somewhat to see if the problem goes away?
It's awesome.
For hide and mute tracks, did you skip a step? I followed this and it mutes and hides all tracks, not the tracks I selected
Also, hello and thank you!
Your studio looks a bit sus :D
How so?
@@REAPERMania idk it just does 😂 perhaps those neon light things
@@SorooshMhs The best studio is one where you feel comfortable to create. If Kenny's is doing this, who are we to complain...? 😎
@@dougsmith9679 don’t get me wrong his studio looks amazing, just a bit sus 😂
@@SorooshMhs I need a better description of sus in this context. Genuinely curious.
