Team Trident has a special place in my heart. It was my middle brothers first assignment as a air crewmen. Although my Aviation career went a different path it was him that got me into Aviation. His tours of the aircraft, and air shows enlightened me the Aviation field and I also learned that there is way more to Aviation than pilots, crew members and mechanics. VP26 was the first squadron to arrive at BNAS and the last to leave...living in southern Maine and him stationed there got to be known as NAS Backyard..
I saw the TACCO smirk when the pilot referred to himself as the "head coach" haha. That much hasn't changed from P-3s. Great video and looks like a badass ASW/ASUW platform!
Did he really just refer to the TACCO as the QB and himself as the coach? As a former P-3 TACCO and Mission Commander I can tell you that the only way a PPC is going to be the coach is if he has a lot of experience and the TACCO has very little. I suspect LT Hasemeyer took some grief from the TACCOs for that one.
I’m a former P-3 pilot and even I cringed when he referred to himself as the “head coach”. Either he’s got a great poker face and his crew loves him, or the thought bubbles above the TACCO and Sensor Operator read something to the effect of, “Here goes Chrome Dome again…..”
I flew on P3-C's back in 1973-76. I was an AW, sensor 1&2, crossed trained to sensor 3. I like the arrangement of the aircraft for the crew. One big question though, does the newest member of the crew still have to empty the tube urinal???? Ah, the memories.
Hello Mark, I have so many great memories of that time period. Do you remember Chief Harvey, Greg Watts, Gregg Peters all friends of mine. So many people I remember but can't remember their names. I wound up living in Monterey, CA for 40 years after VP-48 in 1976. My wife and I purchased a business, Cottage of Sweets in Carmel CA. We are now retired in Colorado Springs, Co. Hope you are well. @@BluRev
@@Lrose68 Hi Lanny, I remember all those folks. I stayed in touch with a few. A couple have passed. I stayed in the Bay Area after getting out of the service. Worked for a number of high tech companies, technical to engineer to project management. Retired in 2022 and moved to Grants Pass, Oregon last year.
Robert Kman haha thanks! It was fun doing the video. Ops O told me to “go out to 003 and escort some photographers from NATO who are taking pictures of the plane.” But it was a good time! Can you remind me where we met? Your RUclips username makes it hard to narrow down! 😬
Skippers change of command I am his cousin. My son is looking to go to OCS. Do not know if a person should drop names on youtube. But that should give you the hint you need. I was the big old balding Marine. LOL
Last time I saw a VP-26 video it was the P-3C era. My middle brother was a AO crewman in early 80’s. You could say I got my start in Aviation courtesy of “Team Trident”.
I did four years and got out as an AX2 in 1975. I was VP-23 and we had P3Bs. My old brother was an AO on P2s and P3s in the mid 60s. We were both in Squadrons based out of Brunswick Maine.
I flew P3C's back in the early 80's. The tour guide here didn't cover it- where is the galley and bunks? The P-8 does have a galley and bunk right? Hope "the bunk" is not that yellow table at 1:35
Former VP-26 from '78 to '81. Logged 1400 hours as a SS3. Noticed your patch. Would have liked to see more. Where's the galley? Where's the head? Where are the bunks?
Galley is standard 737. Oven and a fridge. First class seats by the flight deck lay flat for a bed. The floor and ditching stations are used for crew rest as well.
Flew in the P2V-7 Neptune in the 60's and recently retired from the company that builds the electronic bay chiller for the P8. What a slick ASW platform the P8 is - do you have drink service :) ?
No! To the true pleasure of the CAC. :-) "Roger Roosevelt, confirmed sinking, mark on top, now, now, now. We'll see you back in port sometime, Eh?" "WTF, RTB."
Every day, peaceful Ukrainians die from the weapons of the Russian occupiers, and about 50 children have already died. Today the occupiers fired on a maternity hospital in Mariupol.
This guy sounds like a novice! Who in their right mind would release a video like this? He sounds like he's talking to kindergarteners... this must be parody🙄

Surprising that only 30 comments are posted as of December 29th 2019. That was a quick and fast update on the Poseidon, great video.

It’s because LT Hasemeyer’s (now LCDR) call sign is “coach”

Thank you for your service in one of the most challenging task of the Navy...

My dad was a Cold War dub in P3s and S3s. Iv been a dub since '04.
You were in the same time I was. VP-48 SS1&2

Thank you for your service , sir. We wish you well always.
Thanks for this... we have just taken delivery of the P-8 Posiedon planes for our RNZAF 👍✈️🇳🇿
SS-3 on P-3C in the 70's...Good times!
great job Team Trident. good to see you LT. If I knew you would become famous I would have gotten an autograph

The big difference between the two was you weren't allowed to photo the P3, Touchscreen panels give no details when off.

Awesome video!
Hey, I just checked in to this squadron. Team Tridents
I flew as Aircrewman with VP-18 out of NASJAX on the Lockheed P2V-7 back in the '60's.
This aircraft is much more aircrew supportive.

Norge har bestilt 5 av disse flyene. Det første kom i går. Veldig fint fly.
Great airplane.
⚓️👍👍 Thanks ! 🤛🤛⚓️

Our mission protect all of our Goal or in short supply and all of our assets to protect all our needed or tools to prosperous.
Good video.
Shift naval into manufacturing part for B1 and P8 to replace suspected part top slilence
Nice
Nice
I bet they feel better when they drop a buoy in the morning...
Weaponry of the P 8 is still secret? How they know where to drop their sonobuoys? (No MAD system).
I toured the plane when it was empty 👍👍🤛🤛⚓️
clean
It's been a long time since the S2-E. Bless you, Brother. Keep with the ASW {from a former AX). Quite the nice platform you have there! ;-)
Thankfully the Navy didn't upgrade to max8's.
N i c e.
nice
No explosives CADs huh?
Nice.
Its true this aircraft can drop depth charges as well, right?
@101327 And more being added. The question is, as capabilities are added, will there be a corresponding mission creep? Probably yes.
Flew in the P2V-7 Neptune in the 60's and recently retired from the company that builds the electronic bay chiller for the P8. What a slick ASW platform the P8 is - do you have drink service :) ?
Nice... but can it land on an aircraft carrier...
No! To the true pleasure of the CAC. :-) "Roger Roosevelt, confirmed sinking, mark on top, now, now, now. We'll see you back in port sometime, Eh?" "WTF, RTB."
Are there flight engineers in p8 aircraft
Nope just a bunch of self loading baggage
Where’s the galley?
Sorry to see my old position as F/E no longer needed.
TSOT!
Hai
Capten
How are the buoys retrieved? That’s a cool mission
They're disposable.
😍😍😍😍😍👍👍👍👍👍
Edgar zambrano officer
Stewardess, please bring me a Jack and Coke.
I'd rather be bouncing around at 200 feet above the water onboard a P3-C Orion any day. Hunting subs at 30,000 feet? Please!
It's an old Boeing 737 nothing more or less.
TSOT
