I have been following Ben and Meg since they left California. The good and the bad. It’s been so good to see them thrive. I’ve shared this podcast. Maybe it will motivate others to live well… Thank you all.😊
Everyday I go into the garden section of my little homestead, I pick up a pocket full of broken glass and pottery, rusted nails, screws, washers, pull tabs..... The rusted nails etc., I started dropping into the partially filled grow tubs hoping they will add minerals to the soil but the glass, oh my! I hear what you're saying about the glass magnet. hahahaha
Great discussion guys! Especially leaving an inheritance for our children...a Biblical blessing lost on our current generation. Love the Hollar homestead!
North Carolina's nickname should be the homestead state. I mean, I don't even have to start naming all the homesteaders there. I can see why tho, it's such a beautiful, peaceful place, one of my favorite states.
Yes, texasboy I moved into a 4000 square feet old building which was a bar and grill. Well glass and beer tops for days. Still picking up glass today, I moved in over 10 years ago.
I have followed the Hollars when Meg was the only one doing RUclips. Living in California, before they decided to sell everything and travel the USA looking for "home". I had just returned to Michigan for a family medical emergency. I had spent 5 weeks looking in Kentucky for land. I had a few more properties to look at when I got the call that my baby (16 years younger) brother was in a medically induced coma & not expected to live. So, I rushed home. Now almost 6 years later I am free to resume that quest. I leave next month. I also hope to start a RUclips channel to keep my family here updated in what I'm doing. But I also hope that it will supplement my social security income. I don't think it will become a huge channel but you never know.
Enjoyed this a lot. Watch you and your fantastic family. Learning a lot . Keep it going. I too live in a new Mobil home. My husband died last year. We have always loved to garden. I continue to enjoy gardening. Have a great day
@@18Rhapsody I was raised in Tulare county, my husband in Kern county near Death Valley. We left in 2020, one of the best decisions we ever made! It was hard, but so good.
Best decision we ever made as well. It's so hard to pick up your feet and go even when you ask God to guide your steps and your path! We went to Utah for about 6 years and built up a beautiful homestead and now we're in east texas limping along with our infrastructure but the community and welcome we have found here is amazing!
Hi Megan and Ben, I've been watching you guys for at least five years now and I've been a faithful watcher you guys have really had a lot of fun experiences and you've raised a wonderful family❤
We were born for such a time as this.👍 FAITH OVER FEAR DEAR SAINTS 🙏😇 Praise the Lord and to God be the glory.✝️ Luke 21 28 And when these things begin to come to pass then look up and lift up your heads for your redemption draws nigh 😇 Jesus Christ has already won this spiritual battle and He is coming back any moment Y'all ✝️🙏💜 MARANATH LORD JESUS ✝️ Yeah God wins 😇 l have read the end of the book 📖 We are seeing Bible Prophecy coming to pass before our eyes 👀
That was a really interesting interview with Ben, and I learnt so much and I’m really excited about the prospect of moving, growing my own kumquats, LOL I have a passion for kumquats actually ha ha and maybe having some animals too. I’ve always fancied the thought of owning a goat. Don’t they eat the weeds? And the chickens would eat the slugs? LOL I think that would be a really good reason for having hens. 😃 Well done you all for having the courage to move in order to protect and provide for your families, gentlemen. I love meg and Ben‘s story, and it’s obvious how the Lord unsettled them to settle them again where he wanted them. What an adventure, and a beautiful story to tell their children and grandchildren and such a story of provision and gods protection and how wild God really is - fascinating! Thank you for sharing your story with us, Ben, and for the Texas dad and his son, bringing it to us. Thank you 💖🥰💖
Lots of love, 5 acres here. It is doable. There is an amazing amount of permaculture that happens here, and I work full time from home, and he is away from home for work/40. Every day is hard. I rotate chores and cooking and then the cleaning. It is doable. I wish I had more time for recipes I need to learn, but dang. I'm busy. So I listen while I work, best I can do. Aha? Liq rabbit? Hmm? I think my massive rabbit needs a buddy. Take time out for God.
How I wish I knew someone near the Burleson Texas area to help me learn how to let go and get out of the city. So I can move closer to the country and get a job. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
God, marriage, family, food, I think your heart and head are in the right place❣️
God is good all the time

Thank you Ben Hollar for sharing the journey! Long time Hollar Homestead follower.
Nice interview.
We are in Central Texas and pay 165 to 195 per bale. It has to be shipped in from other states.

43:28 Great interview!
Never miss a Hollar vlog.
Sound like PA boys to me. We know homesteading. The Amish show us that it works still.
Ben & Meg are awesome!
Our family is from the same area of CA, 1 county south, happy to be out of there! Enjoyed the interview!
Ventura county? We got out of there in 2015 🙌

I don’t blame u guy. I’m an elderly woman that wants to homestead too. I don’t need much all I need is a place for chickens and a garden.
Ask God to help u. And bite the bullet and do it. That’s what I’m gonna do.
@@mhale-mi9iy, me too! 🙏🏼☝🏻
Is making "Fodder" for livestock doable?
We will see

Tx dad, why did you leave in the middle of the night? What were you fleeing from? I know you mentioned finance.
