I have stage 4 AVN. I'm a 65 year old women, and I am on disability. Would I qualify for any of the treatments? My Orthopedic Surgeon wanted to do them on me, but I can't afford it. Insurance doesn't cover it.
I have extensive Avascular Necrosis in my right knee both in the Femur and Tibia. I am in so much pain it keeps me up at night. I have to put my unloader knee brace on in bed.
My knee cracks in bed when I roll over, it is a deep cracking and it hurts. I have CRPS, my surgeon is holding off on surgery until he gets another MRI in OCTOBER
Hello Dr. I am from India, Greetings, I had Stage-2 AVN and have had core decompression surgery along with bone marrow injection 7months ago but I don’t have any relief from the pain yet. Is there any other treatment available that I can have for this? Please help.
I have severe knee pain, and My MRI says I have Extensive bone infarcts of the distal femur and the tibia. It fills like me knee is going to break in two, I wear an unloader brace that my Orthopedic surgeon gave me. I see him next week, He will look at my MRI
Evening Alex - sorry to hear ..AVN is serious and would recommend a an evaluation with myself or our team to discuss options - such as decompression / bone marrow concentrate injection depending on staging of the AVN because ultimately could need a joint replacement which the goal is to avoid the need for such as big surgery if we dont have to
My husband has a v n of his left hip and is waiting for replacement. He has a knot in his left thigh muscle and has lost a lot of muscle in that leg around the knee. Now his pops when he rolls over or when moves the kneecap he says in grinds.he experiences pain in the middle of his leg worse than the joints.his ankle is also painful. Could this be als or something else ? or are these consistent with other cases?
@@marywoll2828 Hello Mary - sorry to hear! If the cause of the AVN has not been found then would make sure they image multiple areas - need to have in-depth evaluation and potentially additional MRIs on these areas to ensure AVN has not spread to other areas..... if you'd like me to look at his MRI, you can contact our office and can set up a tele med evaluation to stage his AVN and potentially give advise on how to improve before the THA is needed...all the best!

I have had my left knee replaced and my right knee is getting replaced this month. Rough recovery, but worth it.

Who performs core decrompression surgery of the knee? An orthopedic or someone else?

Is it safe to take the enzyme Serrapeptase with AVN?
