It's so mindblowing because it's plainly visible from the bottom of the build. The first thing most of them do in all the other videos of this is run around the base and look at it from all angles, and they would see his spot immediately.
For real, the only way it would have been better is if it had been a little bit deeper or had a turn, that way it would have been at least a little bit F5 resistant - though using F5 in hide and seek already feels a bit like cheating anyway
I’m seeing two approaches with these things. There’s the Gem strategy, where you load the build up with so much detail and so many hiding places that people just get lost, and there’s the Jimmy strategy, where the build is just so frustratingly simple that no one knows what to do. It seems Gem’s strategy works better. :)
I have never expected most of the people to really struggle to find you Jimmy, loved watching them slowly losing their minds 😂 Also your build looks enchanting! Your building skills have improved a lot!

I don’t often say this, but it really must be said. Jimmy, you have impressed me. Edit: let me explain myself because I may sound patronizing. From a build standpoint, I’m impressed with his use of detail and build palette, as well as the form of his tree (trees are hard). On top of that, he had to fill it with a couple dozen hiding spots (which is hard), interpret how to build a GROVE (let’s be honest any of them would have done a single tree), and as a point of quality, fill it with detail and decoration. The ground under the island was dug out - showing it was well thought out, he had many hiding spots in a cramped area, and he executed his build exceptionally given he’s still finding his building chops. And on top of all he had going against him, he STILL managed to consistently keep them looking for over 5 MINUTES! Hats off, lad!
I feel like the next time they do this, Scott has to promise not to go in F5 mode. It seemed a bit like cheating and he barely spared like a minute and a half before deciding to press that key.
If they had a problem with it, they would have said something. This is not a competition with actual stakes, this is a fun video between friends. We don‘t know what they allow and don’t allow. If they don‘t think Scott cheated, it’s not our place to comment on it.

Oh, the satisfaction this one gave me lol! It's very funny to me how everyone had such convoluted hiding spots and distractions, yet yours, despite how simple it was, made everyone seek the longest. When Jimmy was making the Enchanted Grove, I was impressed by how well he was building the floating island and stuff. But then, we got to the tree... and I was like "Oh, there's the Jimmy we know and love! :D " Lol.
I think the andesite should've been moss in the hiding spot. That way, they wouldn't think it was an out-of-place block. It's also hilarious how Joel made the fanciest yet easiest plot. XD

when you build it with these relatively simple hiding spots (compared to the elaborated one from Gem or Beans) I thought you'd be found so quickly. Boi was I wrong! That was awesome!
Just an idea: inside those little holes on the ground level with traps doors on top, you could have built 1 by 1 maze where you have to crawl in it. Make the maze as big as you want, and imagine if each maze took 2 minutes to clear, it might take your time to 10 minutes.
