Also is the 3.0 a spec B because didn't only the spec B have a 6 speed transmission?
Yes it is a spec b
What so how much less powerful is the 3.0? According to the wikipedia page it's only 6kw (180 vs 186). Is that what you noticed when you said the 3.0 is less powerful or is it also the difference in torque?
2.0t is 206kW in Japan. So it’s 26kW down. And no turbo so torque doesn’t come in till later. N/A always feels less grunty than turbo
@@KiwiCarLife Thanks mate
Not sure I agree with the cars not being precise in steering. Always found them to be ok in that regard. Reasonably fast and easy to place. The problem is more that they lack in feeling and feedback.
Yeah that's exactly what I was referring to. Cars without feeling and feedback by definition aren't precise and are hard to place
@@KiwiCarLife Ah, I think it might be a more subjective part of the experience then. I find if I approach the steering in my Legacy almost ‘mathematically’, she goes right where you point her even if it doesn’t give me much feel. But definitely not as intuitive or ‘feel’ based as my e46.
dang wished we got the 6 speed 3.0 here in usa.
It's a great car!
I have a 08 6 speed Spec B sedan in wellington if you’d like to do a comparison to the EZ30. I had been meaning to ask for ages 🤦♂️🤣
Oh yeah could be keen, you wanna hit me up on Insta?
The turbo wagons do everything.
Kid drop off, family holidays with plenty of boot space, and easy to take to the race track!
Yeah absolutely man, very much a do everything car
I love my flat 6 wagon, just wish i could pull a bit more power out of it!
Mmm yeah need a raptor supercharger
Is 5th in the turbo taller than 6th in the 3.0? Surely not ?
Didn’t go fast enough to find out, but the 5 speed definitely has longer gears
@@KiwiCarLife Thanks, Im obsessed with tall gearing.
I’ve yet to sit in a liberty/legacy with leather seats where the leather facings hadn’t gone hard and uncomfortable.
Mine isn’t too bad
I’ve owned both a 06 3.0R spec B premium and a 08 2.0 GT spec B and have to say that the GT has a lot more power and far better economy and the EZ30 engine is prone to head gasket failure
I'd still rather have the 3.0R...
I wish they used the boxer 6 in the gt86/brz!
Yeah I know that would have been awesome aye, I wonder if anyone’s swapped one in?
Surprise boost always feels quicker but it's just moment of acceleration. Over the same distance I think the 3.0 would have it. Just a smoother curve.
The 2.0L makes a lot more power though
@@KiwiCarLife ah you're right.. Id recently compared the 2.5 and the 3.0 and they're the same.. The 2.0 is quicker.. But too old so wasn't on my radar.
Loved my 3R wagon. Wasn’t that fast and suspension was a bit soft and rolly. But great car all round.
Good vehicles
I think the pre-facelift looks way better. And wagon is ofc much sexier
Really? I would have to disagree but that’s all good!
Where are the sub-titles for English speaking countries?
RUclips conveniently auto generates them for ya!
Great comparison. Would be cool to see how the 2.0T stacks up to a Mazda 6 MPS. Very similar in spec it seems.
Yes that would be a very interesting comparison
There has been and legacy wins. RUclips it
2:38 Mandatory Toyota Aqua NPC sighting
Yes we had so many NPC's just driving around while we were trying to film, you'll see a 320i in the background of some shots too coz they just parked up and said "oh I hope we're not in the way"
3.0r engine from
what ive read is more reliable
Yeah definitely. Simpler
Subaru lo mejor. Fierro slds 🇺🇾
Good cars
“Do you want a smooth refinedflat 6 or the raw turbo 4”
Turbo your flat 6. Do it. right now
Or raptor supercharger?
@@KiwiCarLife comes down to personal preference. Some videos of a white 3.0 wagon with a raptor and it sounds insane
@@chrisreardon7185 yeah I’ve seen that
Having an accent like this and a lisp is wild
Sure is! I get told that almost every day!
I would take the ,30R just for the reliability, turbo Subaru not so..
Yeah me too
But at the end of the day, it's an obvious decision which car you'd take home.
And that's a BMW 130i
Hahah well yeah owning a 3.0R legacy and 130i, the BMW is definitely the better drivers car. Partly coz it's done way less k's so feels tighter, but RWD > AWD, I6 > F6, trans and steering feel is better, nicer interior etc.
Wrong lane..
