Little tip from someone who'se been using sorting grabs for years, if you want a big grab full, open it up, face away from you and push one side of the grab just under a pile, push in till it seems full and sort of roll the grab over the pile. You'll be surprised how much more you grab that way
This is going to be good, really good, when that burn pit get's lit up. No ash piles to push your equipment through or watch you disappear in ash smoke, no clogged up air filters, it's just a wonderful way of getting the waste wood to disappear! As for the controls being backwards to what you are used to, I'd call up the supplier and ask for the boss and tell him to send a technician to fix it or send a truck to pick it up. It definatly should be adjusted to your specifications and done quickly! I'm surprised AMI couldn't have made the grapple attachment for you as they seem pretty responsive to your requests. Can't hardly wait for tomorrow's video. Thanks Chris.
That is another great tool to the Earth Artists arsenal of equipment. That unit will only complement the work he does in a very big way. Good looking unit and looking forward to you using it with your new earth paint brush. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Prayers coming your way for your eye. Chris, thanks for another great video. Take care and best wishes. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Hey Chris! Congratulations on the New 220, she seems to run as smooth but a bit quicker 👌🏼 Glad to see your’re back in “stealth mode”, looks great!! Really think you’ll enjoy the grapple as much as we are😄 Thanks for sharing your world with us! Kudos 🤘🏻🤙🏻
That rotating grapple is going to come in pretty handy on a lot of the jobs you do. It’s really going to be good for laying drainage pipe. It’s not going to be able to pick up as much brush when you are stacking burn piles. You will be able to control how you stack them better though.
Hay Chris. I really enjoy ur channel. So happy for you as u grow ur business and are able to add new equipment to ur fleet. One thing I really like is how clean ur equipment is and even the old machines are looking good. Keep on digging brother Dave
Well, as my momma used to say, "That thing is as handy as a pocket on a shirt." Nice addition to the tool bag. The new machine can definitely dig a hole as well. Good balance on bucket size and machine strength.
Boy, that looks like a great tool for the work you do. It would take you a lot longer to do the same job with the bucket and thumb. It would be nice if there were just one tool to do everything but that isn’t the case. Keep up the great videos, it is fun to ride along with you in the cab. You couldn’t do anything without us in there to help you.
Firstly Chris, all the best for your eye, hope it’s not a serious issue. Congrats on adding a rotating grapple to your stable, with all the clearing you’ve been doing it should make things easier. Hopefully someone from Volvo will turn up soon to sort out the settings on the new 220. Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
That's a good tool for an experienced guy like you. Seems like it would be very easy to wack the cab or pool cue something in through the front window!
Yet another versatility package for efficiencies sake. It looks great and works great but as you said if you dont get technical support required its useless. As with all new things it takes time to adjust to them. Im continually amazed at the things one man and the excavator can do. Just an amazing invention.
Congrats on the new machine and grapple Chris! I’m surprised you didn’t go with a grapple saw with all the clearing u do. We just got a Rotobec grapple saw on our 238, I’ve got about 60 hours on it, it is awesome. Wish u all the best with your new machine.
Congrats on the new Grapple ! Trying it out - a few Minor Adjustments - You sounded very Happy with it ! One Burn Pit coming up - Filling it with Brush etc ! We got us some Burning to do Tomorrow ! Great Video and many Cheers from us in Australia !!!!
Great little grapple you got there, that's going to make demoing those single/double wides & old farm house's a hell of alot better for sorting material, bucket and progressive thumb is an awesome attachment also, but now it's got a little competition for demo, again nice attachment & best of luck w/ it!👊💪
It’s so much nicer for build piles of material, being able to index the slash in the same direction and for burn piles you can tepee everything allowing your piles to burn cleaner. It just reduces the amount of time spent handling brush, over the length of you job! Great pick up!
While it would be costly, I think you would find a tilt rotator so handy on that machine. You could get the integrated oil quick couplers top and bottom and be able to swap everything from the cab and even drop the rotator off and pick up a normal digging bucket all without messing with hoses.
Congrats on the new grapple. With all the dirt, smoke and ash you deal with I'm surprised you haven't had eye issues before. Hope your eyes are well. 👀
I tend to agree with you that the toggles are backwards. In my mind if I move the spin toggle to the left it should rotate left or clockwise. Same with the graffle, move to the left, it should close. How it is set up just seem backwards. Then again, it maybe just me and I am backwards. Graffle will definitely be a valuable tool in the arsenal. Thank for sharing.
I’m ready to watch it burn Chris, I enjoy watching you burn all the tree debris! It always amazes me how the ashes stay red hot for as long as they do, that’s amazing to me to see how easy you just start a fire after several days! It’s looking good brother and thanks for sharing Chris, I like the new grapple brother! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Seems like you can pick more debris up and move it and stack faster. Will definitely help with less dirt in the burn piles. Also separating stumps and logs as well.
Actually the first time I have ever seen one of these in operation. I have heard of them but as I said before have never seen one. Quite handy in that application. Pretty cool looking also. Congrats on getting the new excavator also. Sorry about the eye issue. Hope everything is alright. Be safe out there.
First - trust your eye is better LetsDig18 - vision loss of any type is tough. Hope the rotating grapple meets your expectations - seems a handy attachment to have.
Great log grabber Chris ..I remember driving a 180 % jcb site master ..and jumping on a 360 % the leavers were different Chris soon got used to this ..See your windows are tinted now
That grapple sure makes that work a lot easier. Nice that you got the window tint done, looks more like it's your machine!🤣 I hope your eye is better, I am assuming so since you didn't mention it again and you weren't wearing sunglasses (which you would need to even with window tint). Looking forward to the burning, those piles are going to look spectacular. Thanks, Chris. Be well.
Really nice grabber..i work in the recycling in the netherlands on the truck and excavator ,a wheeled one instead of a tracked one, but we use a dehaco sorting grabber..almost the same configuration as your grabber but then a semi closed one..nice job you are doing💪💪and great equipment..
@Michael dirkx: Have you ever seen an excavator with even a fixed thumb here in the Netherlands? Even ears for the cylinder on the stick seem rare (around Amsterdam).
Another tool used by a professional to showcase his skills. It is a time saver, now you can lay brush and logs just like you said. Update on the root rake for the D6 (please).
The grapple will say it's going to work good for these kind of projects once you get it figured out looks like you can grab more brush with your bucket and your thumb then you can in that new attachment
Excavator is looking awesome Chris,,, and now you can pile logs, and load log trucks too if needed... You're crazy buddy Wade will be calling you next, lol....
GAME CHANGER !!! Congrats and may the force be with you. Just imagine how much it will lengthen the life of you undercarriage not having to scoot around !!!
Glad you could have a new tool. It does look to me like the bucket & ram to open/close it is not lined up well with the boom. That's odd. Maybe it's just me. I sure like the way you use your equipment. Very smooth!
Nice new addition to the fleet Chris. Hope your eye is ok! Let us know how much rain you got from the storm. We got almost 4 inches here in Central PA on Friday.
Hope your eye is ok, a few years ago my sister lost sight in one eye while having a migraine with less headache pain than normal. As the doc said typical 'blinding headache'. Vision returned to normal after a day and hasn't happened again .
Chris what is up with your eye? So sorry to hear that! Hope nothing serious! Had eye issues my whole life had cataract surgery can not tell you how great it is! I can see better now than I ever could!! Good luck!!
Hello there Chris 🚧🔥🚧. This was a smart move. Anything that makes the work more efficient also means that less of the expensive diesel is used. All ways are good, except the boring ones.
I'm really surprised you didn't go with a 240 and a bigger bucket like Uncle John's. I've heard commits before how nice the 240 was with the bigger bucket while you operating it Chris. I think your going to be happy with the claw. Keep up the great work!!!
I think that rotating grapple would be great for house demolition in tight areas like Jersey City and the surrounding areas. I've been in plenty of spaces where that would have come in handy.
@@cathiwim , believe me, there's many houses, buildings and complete neighborhoods that need to be torn down in Jersey City and the surrounding areas. The trick is not to get robbed or mugged while you're there.
Oh Chris..you need to make new decals now with that claw attachment instead of bucket! 😀 Oh, and do shield those hoses... if you start putting stumps and logs in the hot fires, those lines will cook. Be safe! And you got the windows tinted! Nice! Be safe with your eyes...
Just one more tool in your toolbox. Nice looking machine. I see you got the windows tinted You're doing all right. It's going to make your life a lot easier. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🔥🌲
way to go chris this tool (grapple) is just the thing for grabbing more to quicken the time and it will get the jobs done quicker nice. i bet it will be great with stumps....john..England..u.k...
Chris, as good as you are with the bucket and thumb, you could never move that brush that quickly. and you just started using the rotating grapple. Hope the eye is OK.
Little tip from someone who'se been using sorting grabs for years, if you want a big grab full, open it up, face away from you and push one side of the grab just under a pile, push in till it seems full and sort of roll the grab over the pile. You'll be surprised how much more you grab that way
That’s exactly how I use a grapple bucket on our skid
Hope your eye is OK - Love watching the big machines at work.

The best operators deserve the best tools for the job!, enjoy it Chris and looking forward to seeing it in action! 👍🏻
That is another great tool to the Earth Artists arsenal of equipment. That unit will only complement the work he does in a very big way. Good looking unit and looking forward to you using it with your new earth paint brush. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Grapple looks like a time saver. Prayers for your eye to heal quickly.🙏
Congratulations on your new grapple I enjoy watching your success as you grow your company thanks for bringing us along Chris
Prayers coming your way for your eye. Chris, thanks for another great video. Take care and best wishes. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.

Keep on digging brother

Nice addition to your equipment. Looked like you filled the pit up little faster with it. Thanks for the great demo, enjoyed. 👍🙏😎🇺🇲
Wow, what fun.👍 Great new accessory there Chris.🤨 Great help with these clearing jobs. 🤔Looking forward to seeing more of it. 😀Be well.😉
Awesome addition, I was thinking a while back, dang, a grapple would really be useful to your clearing jobs!!
Well, as my momma used to say, "That thing is as handy as a pocket on a shirt." Nice addition to the tool bag. The new machine can definitely dig a hole as well. Good balance on bucket size and machine strength.

You’ll be able to load log trailers so much easier now! That setup is awesome! Congratulations
I love how quiet that new excavator is and its a beast! dug that hole in no time. That grapple will come in handy.

Hopefully someone from Volvo will turn up soon to sort out the settings on the new 220. Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰
This def, definitely the ultimate tool Chris, I was thinking and waiting for this time in motion,
First one I've seen that doesn't dangle, looks like a solid improvement.
That's a good tool for an experienced guy like you. Seems like it would be very easy to wack the cab or pool cue something in through the front window!
Tools are awesome. Your variety and versatility are on larger scale than most. It'll pay for itself for sure.
It’s amazing how much faster the grapple is for moving brush and logs! Your operation will be more efficient!
Cool looking attachment. Can see you using that on jobs. Going to enjoy this video.
Yet another versatility package for efficiencies sake. It looks great and works great but as you said if you dont get technical support required its useless. As with all new things it takes time to adjust to them. Im continually amazed at the things one man and the excavator can do. Just an amazing invention.
You should be able to reverse the flow in your work-tool settings, I recently did this with my ECR58F to correct the tilt-bucket movement.
right, no need to change hoses,
Can’t wait to see this fire, it’s going to be huge. 🇬🇧 fascinating watching the grappler at work in the hands of the master. 🤭
Crisscrossing the logs for fires will be easy now ... 👍👍👍
A lot less dirt comes along with the logs when using the grapple.
Nice new attachment sir , all the different jobs you take on , your business needs all the right tools !!
Congrats on the new machine and grapple Chris!
I’m surprised you didn’t go with a grapple saw with all the clearing u do. We just got a Rotobec grapple saw on our 238, I’ve got about 60 hours on it, it is awesome.

That grapple looks like a nice addition. I think it will help speed up the brush burning.
Adding to your collection of equipment, Chris, I like it! Congratulations bud.
Congratulations on your new grapple Chris, looking forward to watching you work with it.

Best part of the grapple is being able to pinch logs and use them as a grade beam to pile up brush and give a rough grade
He can do that with the bucket and thumb too.
Chris has used the bucket and thumb, with logs, mud mats etc to grade, scrape, push, and shove. This grapple will just add to the fun.
I’m ready to watch it burn Chris, I enjoy watching you burn all the tree debris! It always amazes me how the ashes stay red hot for as long as they do, that’s amazing to me to see how easy you just start a fire after several days! Congrats on new equipment! Blessings and take good care of that eye. Loved the video.
nice buy Chris ,looks at lot more positive than the bucket and thumb , a tool for every job.
Congrats Cris with your new grapple! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! One more great addition! 🤙👏
that is awesome bud. I've been waiting 6 months for my Rotobec. They said mid january now... Going to be a game changer, for sure. Congrats
That's a pretty cool set up you got there Chris! Love it!
Actually the first time I have ever seen one of these in operation. I have heard of them but as I said before have never seen one. Quite handy in that application. Pretty cool looking also. Congrats on getting the new excavator also. Sorry about the eye issue. Hope everything is alright. Be safe out there.
1 Word Chris;
AWESOME!!! Congratulations!! 👏🏻👏🏻
I know that you are going to be putting this to good use. I hope that you're feeling better.
That grapple looks like a time saver!
Congradulations on your new tool! Wish you had a rotating tilting bucket too!
Excellent choice of tools for your arsenal. Thanks for sharing!
First - trust your eye is better LetsDig18 - vision loss of any type is tough. Hope the rotating grapple meets your expectations - seems a handy attachment to have.
Great log grabber Chris ..I remember driving a 180 % jcb site master ..and jumping on a 360 % the leavers were different Chris soon got used to this ..See your windows are tinted now
Wow the new grapple is definitely very kool, and that 220 is a beast no matter what you got on the stick.
That grapple sure makes that work a lot easier. Congratulations on the new grapple. Looks like it works great.
🙂👍 NICE! That rotating grapple has a good fit for your work you do. Definitely a good purchase. ENJOY
Well it sure didn't take long for you to get the hang of using the grapple!!! Amazing!!!
Really nice grabber..i work in the recycling in the netherlands on the truck and excavator ,a wheeled one instead of a tracked one, but we use a dehaco sorting grabber..almost the same configuration as your grabber but then a semi closed one..nice job you are doing💪💪and great equipment..

That is very handy for laying concrete pipes, and grappling a tree _before_ it is cut with a chain saw.
That is what we use for loading log trucks. Much better than a Barko loader. Great purchase Chris.
Hi Chris.
Nice work with the grapple.
Enjoy watching you work..
Ed from Chicago 🙂
I am sorry to hear about your vision problem. That is serious and you need to take care. God bless.
Super nice addition to your set up.
The grapple will say it's going to work good for these kind of projects once you get it figured out looks like you can grab more brush with your bucket and your thumb then you can in that new attachment
I see you got the windows tinted. That grapple will be great addition as you get use to it and find more things to do with it
I see it didn’t take ya long to get the glass tinted- looks great- take care
He talked about it in the last video. :)
New bucket is a winner. Hard to believe a Rep hasn't been to see you for his free advertisement. Take care of yourself Chris.
Looks like a great purchase! It should speed up clearing up no end!
Evening, all. Nice addition there, Chris.
Coming along really good Chris 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excavator is looking awesome Chris,,, and now you can pile logs, and load log trucks too if needed... You're crazy buddy Wade will be calling you next, lol....
Now that we can't see you in the excavator,, it gives an appearance that the machine is alive and running on it's own,,,, kewl...
These fires are gonna be HUGE! Don't set Bealy on fire Chris.
Yes Chris, we've seen what issues you have when you are downwind from the fire. Smoke, fire and wiring melting.
Nice new addition to the fleet Chris. Hope your eye is ok! Let us know how much rain you got from the storm. We got almost 4 inches here in Central PA on Friday.
The new attachment will be great for drain pipe work!

Nice new toy! If you don't need the skid steer anymore, happy to give it a good home! 😀
I’d recommend a 4/3 tine grapple. The wider surface is ideal when you’re cleaning up the smaller “shrapnel”
I’d say it has plenty of digging power. It appears to no problem digging up a very full scoop on a pretty big bucket!
When you have a good base machine (x2) the attachments make a lot of sense and broaden the work capabilities. Nice.
Very nice and yes makes sense to change left right .up & down
I’ve watched many of your videos and it’s apparent you’ll get better with time.
