Seems like a nice relaxing France trip … We did drive through France 10 years ago … getting off our cruise ship in Amsterdam .. rode train to Paris … stayed there for a few days near Eiffel Tower .. 110 Euro for a lousy hotel .. then renting a car for a week .. cycling around France .. paying way too much for freeway tolls .. probably cost as much or more than gasoline .. most impressive places were Pont Du Gard and Dune du Pilat .. Just like you guys .. we did enjoy simple mussels (big bucket) .. fries and beer .. very reasonable .. maybe 40 euros or so .. very delicious already

On my last journey to Paris, the Eiffel Tower was not hoarded around and this was a romantic experience walking around the tower at night. Hope the hoarding is just a temporary measure. If you enjoy going to carnivals, you might like to go to Menton, a little town in France next to Italy, during the Lemon Festival which is usually organized in the second half of February. During the festival, Menton’s streets belong to the giants, the wind instruments’ parades, acrobats, whistles, drummers, and to the masked crowd that dances according to the music of the marching parades. 🥰❣❣❣🥰

Le mans is always my pitstop whenever I needed to travel thru, the place you dropped by with a big church has a flea market open twice a week selling varieties of seafoods and veggies from local mongers and farmers as well as the french roasted chicken done at scene also locally grown. Believe me or not that some renowned being famous for fresh oysters are also from the same source. I am a budget traveller needing to travel to EU very often, do give Wok Dynasties at Le Mans a try, their buffet looks and tastes too good to be true, so fresh and no substandard whatsoever from the famous ones, EUR13 for person is a super bargain, everything is well above par.
Stevo's French seems very rusty. 😆Got it all wrong with Mont St. Michel (no 'k' sound), Printemps ('in' is more like 'ine' in 'wine', 'temps' is more like 'tong'), Eiffel ('fell') etc. But thanks for introducing Entretrat - very nice.
Hi Stevo, can I ask what is the difference between alighting at Calais / Dunkirk / Newhaven / Dieppe ? Which will be the ideal drop off near to city center instead ? Will rent up Airbnb and park the car and travel by metro within the city . Will plan for trip to monmantre as well. Is Waze workable in UK and Paris as well ?
I went to Europe from HK in 1970.Ine Paris Walking down the stairs from the top of Eiffel Tower to the ground floor was an extremely memorable and fantastic experience. In those days we could roam freely around the city , Montmartre , Le Louvre, Champs Elysee ,Fountain of Trocadero Gardens in front of Eiffel Tower etc . In another trip I took Eurostar to Paris. I was in my twenties now I don't travel that much as I age. "Those were the days my friend " . I will definitely go back when the pandemic dies down .

On my last journey to Paris, the Eiffel Tower was not hoarded around and this was a romantic experience walking around the tower at night. Hope the hoarding is just a temporary measure.
