Man, I love watching Speed Duel videos, despite the SD community in my country is basically dead. SD is still my favorite YGO format of all time, so these videos are great!
I don't know if there's much of a Speed Duel community ANYWHERE. It's disappointing that we finally got an alternate format, yet so few tried it and the company put so little effort into promoting or managing it.
@MarkThePage IKR, it's so sad that Konami had a great, accessible product and they just decided Not to promote it properly. I loved making all kinds of decks just to have fun because they were cheap and easy to learn and master. I even tried to make a Water Dragon deck and had SO much fun with it despite how jank it was.
I spent 60 years trying to make Bastion's deck work, and all I got was a deep loathing for everyone involved in the designs of his cards/skills... My solution has been to swap to Hassleberry's Food Chain skill and remove Carboneddon to focus on just D2O, Pot of Avarice for recycling, and Zero Gravity for attacking with the two Water Dragons immediately.
@@MarkThePage I found out that using A Legendary Ocean gives you both Duoterion on 1st turn or Hydrogeddon with 1800 Atk to just SURVIVE for a turn while using Skill 1 of his weird 4-counters skill card to discard Oxy, get Duo, discard it for DHO, and either Moray of Greed or Foolish (and pray) for Cluster. That was the only way I made that thing work. And I STILL LOVE THE POTENTIAL OF IT ALL. Something's wrong with me.
Foolish can also be used to dump Carbon and sit on Hyozanryu while stalling for draws (if drawn, discard for either Oxy or Duo)... Moray bricked no less than it helped. Ocean was helpful, but not likely to be efficient, and risky to run in multiples. Maybe Warrior of Atlantis would've helped alongside Moray. Either way I have not looked back for half a second since switching to Food Chain. Maybe there was one time when I got to use Chemistry's third effect. I've definitely never reached the fourth effect. Gonna stop myself there before I rage about how they made a skill with four effects that manages to do nothing... even worse than the UFOroid thing.
I learned those from a great card magician who's now a pro at a casino. (Not--that was RUclips's AI reply suggestion which thinks I have such an exciting life. I do want to learn some actual magic tricks for these videos though...)
Mark Thank you very much for this insighful and fun video, I Love the way u deck build and i love that u focus on give people ideas, But since I am making a small speed duel community with diferent levels of fre-time and Skill level, I would highly apreciate if u Could put sample deck list that go along with the ideas, take it as feedback since a lot of people want to try ur ideas but they dont know how to fill a 20 card deck without bricking a lot.
I did forget to include a note about maxing out knights in a control build so it'll be safe to banish a few for Court of Cards to draw... As for deck lists, sorry, we're just going to disagree there. Even if it frustrates or disappoints, that's the style I decided on a long time ago and deck lists can be found on other sites. I think it applies even more to Speed Duel because decks are smaller and most players will have a wider collection to work with due to the box set model. Going forward I will try to do a better job of guiding viewers who are nervous about building their own decks.
I don't plan to build for Red-Eyes Inferno because it looks underwhelming, Red-Eyes has a better skill from Nightshroud, and Joey's skills from Streets already synergize with the Red-Eyes engine while also representing his character more fully. I think it's one of the few duds from Finals, but maybe someone will prove me wrong. Kaiba will be up as soon as I've found viable builds... which is not going well.
Kaiba is such a travesty--I'm going off the deep end trying to make either of his skills work. As for Gravekeepers, Odion and Ishizu are last in my schedule because I'm waiting for the Limited list update. I'm expecting/hoping for a load of hits to the powercreep in this set, especially to stall strategies.
@MarkThePage I agree, and thanks for responding! Where i play locals, the guy that runs it set up a makeshift "ban list" for the new box, and we're using it (*FOR CASUAL PLAY*) until the real ban list comes out. We're also gonna dabble with the 2025 kaiba deck with maiden and blue eyes alternate so that should be fun lol
@MarkThePage I love your videos, tho, man! Keep it up! You're a big reason why I got back into YuGiOh and started going out to play at tournaments for speed duel
I'd sure love to play at your locals! I also doodle up makeshift limited lists... dreaming of a game finally rid of stun decks. It's really cool to hear about players coming together to curate a better experience when the official management won't. I think Alternative would be way too strong, having no weak point. But if anyone's going to have an overpowered deck, it should be Kaiba.
I thought nothing could be nuttier than the new Crystal skill. Now seeing Soulburner's new triple search, I guess that's just how the game will be from now on. Way more of an OTK fest than even Advanced, with a growing emphasis on small engines + piles of cheap disruption. That kind of Yugioh has the least player agency, so nothing about PVP feels enticing to me right now.

I absolutely love these Battle City videos, the abridging is intense.
I'm probably going overboard with the Battle City content, but glad to know we're not the only ones who can't get enough of these ridiculous duels.
4:40 OMG. I did not think you could do that with Marik and Joey deck. Smart move. You better tell Joe to put a ring on your finger.
That is the last time I ever read comments while trying to chew food.
I just want to say your card flourishes are amazing

@@MarkThePage omg please do a trick if you ever decide to make an Arkana video!
Man, i need this, pls don't stop to make this videos, u got a new suscrib 😁
Oh boy, i was waiting for that!
These cards are pure hype!

Please do more of these. AT LEAST for Battle City Slugger and would appreciate Red-Eyes Inferno and Kaiba skills as well.

Love your videos!! Gravekeepers or blue eyes would be dope even though blue eyes got pretty nerfed in this box

What do you think about the new jaden skill in duel links
I thought nothing could be nuttier than the new Crystal skill. Now seeing Soulburner's new triple search, I guess that's just how the game will be from now on. There’s no need to think about that skill. It does all that for you!
