Moderated by Lee Strobel, Rabbi Singer and Dr. William Lane Craig debate the doctrine of the Trinity God; does this church creed of long duration make sense according to the Scripture?

So G-D sent himself to obey himself then sacreficed himself to himself?
Mystery
In order to save you from himself
If you're a trinitarian, that's a mystery. If you are truly monotheist, that's nonsense.
@Spartan 300 god ( the father ) sent himself ( jesus, also god )was anointed by himself( the holy spirit, also god) , to be sacrificed to himself ( the father ) in order to save you from himself ( the father )
@Spartan 300 yeah jesus and the father are the same god , just different forms , god sent himself.
No man can die for another man’s sin
Unless he is divine.
Rabbi kept saying look at what it says in the Hebrew Scriptures on this issue and they kept referencing the New Testament. It’s like every time the rabbi spoke they put their fingers in their ears and were like La La La La Jesus, Jesus...
Why is the Rabbi clean shaven ? Leviticus 27:19.
@@truthhitman7473 Yeah! Why are they BOTH clean shaven?! Good question!
A fair Christian should ask, should I believe all the prophets in Torah or believe Paul?!
Why not believe both. They're not inconsistent with what they teach. Rather all the New Testament authors show how Jesus Christ fulfills Old Testament prophecy.
Khal your "fair" question implies either the OT prophets or Paul are wrong.
For anyone who claims to be a Christian and yet discounts the OT they must revisit their own beliefs. The OT is a schoolmaster, and nothing in it will pass away. The NT can not make the OT false and still be the Word of God.
@@pugnaciousnoobeginnings8997 the interpretation makes them totally two different messages ( other than the translation issue, Bible is based on Greek and not hebrew ). In the Hebrew Bible, prophets talk about the one invisible god, the God of the universe, and how humans are responsible for their acts. Either Good or bad. But Paul tought that no need to keep Torah anymore and glorified Jesus into God(even though he never met him) and thats all humans sins are now on Jesus and if you don't believe that Jesus is God you won't be saved. Which don't make a lot of sense that God will send himself in human form to sacrifice himself ! So there is a difference between prophets and Paul teaching. In the end it comes to whose words you will believe, and what make sense.
@@kevinvanderveen8178 I don't find in the Hebrew Bible any text that teaches that God will send himself in human form to sacrifice himself! The messiah in Hebrew Bible is a human only, the messiah in New testament is portrait as God. Both are different. I think Ancient Roman believes did impact Christinty in a form or another.
@@yeslamo I disagree completely. I think of Texts like Genesis 22 and Isaiah 53 to name a few. There are many texts that foreshadow the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the second person of the Holy Trinity.
Lol 😂 I don’t think they ever invited the Rabbi back after that 😆
They didn’t expect for their butts to be handed to them on their fake doctrine of the trinity.
😂🤣😂

Once again Hashem says “I am the lord your god who brought you out of the land of Egypt out of the house of bondage you shall have no other gods before me”
Go back to Exodus 3. And see that it was The Malak YHWH, or messenger YHWH Whom appeared to Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments. While youre at it read Genesis 18.
@@hwd71 I am not versed in religion, but Malak is pronounced Meleh and it is a king, which i know the jewish people referes to god as the king of the world i don't event know the exact words of the scripture but from what it sound it is refereed to God not two persons or a messenger.
Malak means angel or messenger... Melech means king. Two different Hebrew words with different meanings. The reference above to malak yehovah roughly translates Angel of the Lord or messenger of the eternal one. In the old testament where this phrase Angel of the Lord is used an entity referred to as the angel of the Lord speaks and calls himself God. It is a special "angel" who is referred to as the god of Israel.
@George Raptis lol please get a correct translation

I'm not Jewish but honestly the rabbi made more sense.
Of course you like what the rabbi said. He defines God down, which makes you believe your lifestyle is okay.

RABBI TOVIA EXPLANATION IS MAKE SENSE
@Matthew Garza really then answer me this. all christians believe the Bible is the original text and its divine. they also believe the NT is divine which means that the OT and the NT must match in order for the NT to be true. It says in the OT Jacob went down to Egypt with 70 people and it list all the people except for one daughter who was born on the called Dinah. But in the NT the number somehow jumps to 75. Now explain to me pls what happened cause remember g-d doesn't make mistakes did he forget how many people went down?
Presenter almost apologized for having to continue to be a christian after this debate
you noticed
That's was a missing opportunity for Singer to make it clear that he doesn't give a shit.
When Christians say it’s a mystery I agree. It’s a mystery they can believe this nonsense.
Rabbi won 3:30 but these men really didn't want Rabbi Tovia to speak much. They knew he could destroy their religion in 15 mins.
Of course NOT.
You could see the bias in the host, as he is a practicing Christian. He should have allocated time to Rabbi Tovias to continue.
How can God speak a language we can understand? At what point do you distinguish that the Old Testament was either co-eternal, or man made?
You believe Tovia is a god, then, one to whom the word of the Lord came. Did you know Tovia is quoting a false prophet to make his point that God is not a man? Do you quote false prophets to "destroy" others "religion"? Tovia is like the one who tempted Jesus in the desert, quoting scripture out of context. Of course God is not a man. He is a Spirit. But His Word, His Anointed, became a man to live, suffer, and die for the sins of the world. Then He was resurrected to give those who believe in Him life, and not just any life, but a righteous life to live before God here on earth, and with Him in His Kingdom, forever. Most who deny this do not know the scriptures, a few may, but will lie to others for gain.
@@nccognito2324 we are to believe in God not this made up WORD nowhere does genesis back up john 1:1.
You follow a made testament twisted up by taking verses out of context and making the rest of the verses around the cherry picked verses irrelevant.
Any Christian that has seen the debate must give the rabbi serious thought and do their own research on the verses quoted.
The title of this video should have been "William LAME Craig inanely tries to debate Rabbi Tovia Singer".
I am a Muslim, and after watching only a few of Tovia Singer's videos has taught me so much about Judaism and common elements between Islam and Judaism.
After coming to know of the Jewish worship of Only 1 God, just as we Muslims do. And also the belief in the same Prophets such as Moses.
I now have so much respect for Jewish faith, because for me the common element between us, is the Oneness of God, is the Greatest of all.
I hope that God will fill all our hearts with love for each other, and respect for each other's faith.
Ahki we have more in common with bani Israel than christians
@Chaz Dadkhah Mohammed-s Allah knew very little about Jesus fulfilling the law Matthew chapter 5 verse 17, taking away the first and establishing the second covenant of God with Israel Hebrews chapter 10 verse 9 establishing the second covenant of God with Israel while he, Jesus, was alive before his death and resurrection Hebrews chapter 9 verses 16-17. Why was this????
Yup you guys have so much in common. You guys persecute and kill Christians 💁♂️
@Abc Def oh you mean the Crusades? That was Roman Catholicism. That has nothings to do with Christ 💁♂️ Just because they fight in the name of Christ does not mean they are Christian. The Bible condemns Rome.
@Abc Def millions of Christians were killed in the Holy Inquisition so I'm guessing you dont know your history? 🤦♂️
Here is a simple question - For 2000years, why did God, all of a sudden, change the system of belief?
ummm.. like? example?
Mario, why the lies? Genesis 1 speaks of the creation. The "holy spirit is not a Separate creation; it is the Force of God. Even Islam got that right.
And yes we know that Elohim is the God of Adam, Abraham, Isaak, Jacob, Moses.
//Moses says that there are secret things from God which are revealed to us and our children by Him// Yea, That more lesson in life - about what to eat, what not to eat, how to free the slaves...etc. People where always engaged with their traditions. Do you think God will tell them to Drop their traditions all together? Of course not. That's why we have prophets after prophets reminding people about God and his commands to generations after generations . Revealing one at a time the commands of God Not God's hidden character like God is in some Video game. Furthermore, Shouldn't something be heading the same direction in order for it to be labeled "progressive"? So why is the Later teachings completely the opposite to what was taught in the early scriptures?
And that does not even answer my First Question. Why change the whole system of belief in the first place?
Salvation was achievable by sincere repentance, believing in the One God and good works for more than 2000 years. So why did it all switch to a Sacrifice-system?
Metalrus How can the Hoy Spirit speak or be grieved, if He is just a force? Energy or force, like electricity, can't speak and has no feelings and can't be grieved.
Only a person can speak and feel grief.
“The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.” 2 Samuel 23:2
How can a force speak? It can't, only a person can.
Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
Christians are commanded, "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption."
Scripture clearly teaches the Godhead, and the Holy Spirit is the third Person of it.
Next time you electrocute yourself, tell me who was grieved, you or "the (star wars) force.
Yes
The Holy Spirit (Hebrew: רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ, Modern ruach hakodesh, Tiberian ruaħ haqqodɛʃ) in Judaism, also termed "Divine Inspiration," generally refers to the inspiration through which attuned individuals perceive and channel the Divine through action, writing or speech.
You're the one watching a lot of movies, here.
And you just dug your own hole. If the holy spirit is as you claim it to be; with the contradictions in many verses in the bible - then how many holy spirits do you believe in?
Tovia is obviously very intelligent.
"But the real question is, does the Trinity make sense or not? Does it stand up to scrutiny?"
- It doesn't make sense even to its biggest proponents and supporters, all the way from "St. Paul" to the modern preachers and the laypersons.
Hands down Rabbi Singer won this debate! Rabbi does an amazing job showing how the Jewish Tenachk does not have any evidence nor implication of G-d being a Trinity or half man half G-d. The fact is that Xtians seems to completely ignore two thousand years of Biblical history for the few hundred years of the NT. The NT cannot replace it's original Torah or Tenach and be true. No rather if the NT was true it would not contradict but instead complement the Tenach. One day hopefully the world Xtians will see the currupted mistranslated misquoted NT as what it is and drop idol worship completely!
Jesus LIVES.
Jesus ressurection thats the reason why Christian ity exists.
The NT and OT do not contradict one another on the contrary there are many quotes in the NT from the OT. The very first prophecy found in Genesis in fact threads it's way through both Covenants ....the Old and New.
So both OT and NT are from God Almighty. The prophecies from the OT have been fulfilled and so have some from the NT, but some prophecies in the NT are yet to come about....we are in fact on the doorstep of the final prophecies.
@@rachelklinsmann2474 Jesus never died, how can one be resurrected if one never died?
I do not mean this in a snarky way or as an insult, but do you not think it is in the least possible that the New Testament does compliment the Tanakh but in ways you didn't expect? For example, do you not think it is possible that God's people who had turned from Him in nearly every book of the Tanakh may have it wrong?
@@Bibleguy89-uu3nr No not at all. If you know Tenachk and Torah then you know every single time a section of Jewish people who turned away, G-d would send them a prophet to let them know what was going on. Then the Jewish people repented, returned once again and G-d blessed them in their land. Our Tenachk does not end in the book of Malachi where it seems G-d is done with us and is not speaking to us. No rather, our last book is in 2 Chronicles which shows G-d giving us the land of Israel again being released from babylonian captivity, King Ezra establishing the Sandhedrin or Men of Great Assembly, Second Temple Built and the good things happening for us. Sadly the Xtian books try to make it seem that G-d is upset continually and never calms down, then you have John Baptist acting as a mad man then Yoshke ie jzu throwing over tables, beating money changers who by the way were told by G-d to be there in the Torah. So no I do not even think one bit that any of the NonT or Xtian books mainly written by Paul are anyway representative of our Tenachk. You should search Xtian proof text and compare what our Tenachk says and how the Xtian books misquoted and misinterpreted verses such as Jer 31, Psalm 22, etc. If you have the real Hebrew then we don't need a translation or version written by some Xtian scholar from Greek to other languages. I challenge you Nick, to go get a Jewish Tenachk such as Artscroll or sefaria, or Chabad and compare side by side and then you tell me what you think then.
Rabbi is logical and makes more sense Craig completely ignores what the undisputed Bible (old testament) says about God, role of messiah and prescription for salvation(choosing to observe the commandments and choosing life rather than recognizing the alleged human sacrifice of Jesus)

You resurrect your self by living out of your higher heart and this is only done by doing what you love only of it is good for you and everything around you
And balancing yourself mentally physically spiritually and alchemically and dedication to God to be guided to even begin to know how to listen to your heart to do whats Good.
Most do not know and thats why there is so much imbalance in this world yet God is the pure energy thats in everything that powers through it ...since the beginning of time no man in one tiny vessel has the power to do that!
Align yourself alchemically and then it will seem the mental and physical begin to heal as well after those become balanced you begin to purify your thought process of the way you used to live in order to even begin to receive insight from the creator step by step weather it be in dreams or vision the more pure you get the purging of old becomes less of a process and then one day you will feel resurected enough to see that you where living like you where dead when you weren't living for God the energy that powers our hearts and Gives the brain(God's seed)manna insights how to transmute Gods energy through us to create as it was our Creators intention to create ....
Jesus didn't create us
God Did
Do not live through his supposed son
When you all need to get to the CRUX of the matter and talk to God yourself God's already powering your
heart and minds with what God always has been and always will be the energy that powers all! So pray to God not to anything else....

The Muslims and the Jews have the same position about Allah(God) He is Allah, the One.
the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is nothing comparable to Him. And that understanding is simply natural to human.
Islams understanding of begetting and the sonship is grossly misunderstood
The Hebrew and New Testament Scriptures both teach that there was always more than one Being which were never created. Not one being. “Behold oh Israel the Eternal your God is One God.” Not one Being. But One Kingdom. One Family. One Congregation. One House.
My family is ONE family, but consist of more than one person. The word “God” is not a proper name, it is a title. Similar to King. The King’s name isn’t King.
So if that is the understanding of both Jews and Muslims then they are both wrong. However True Christians do not believe in a Trinity. Nor did they originally. That is a corruption brought into Christianity from Paganism by the Catholic Church.

Dr. Craig is a very honest Trinitarian. in that he admits the "Old Testament" does not teach us the Trinity.
The trinity is a false teaching so no he is not honest if he believes in it.
There are hints of attributes of God being divine hypotheses in the Old Testament though. For example, wisdom is portrayed as an attribute of God that is in itself a separate person, but still equal to God. You see this in Proverbs and the Book of Wisdom. Research into Judaism in the 1st century, and in the centuries leading up to the 1st century, indicates that there was an undercurrent in Judaism (though not the dominant official form of the religion) that expanded on the notion of divine hypotheses. However, these undercurrents were condemned and suppressed by Jewish religious authorities.
Early Christians saw this Wisdom of God as being an operation of the Logos, or Jesus.

Trinity wasn't invented until 325
@@saintfreezy6914made canon isn’t invention. All the early church fathers spoke of it. It had to be agreed upon in the exact wording and a way to explain how God can enter into his own creation as a man to be the eternal sacrifice
Rabi: "Isn't it clear that the trinity was unknown to anyone, and it's the product of a Catholic Church which frankly I'm supprised that protestants follow" 👏👏
@Spartan 300 Please.. do elaborate.
@Spartan 300 Jesus was a Jew. A Unitarian Monthiest. Neither the word “Trinity” nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Hebrew Scriptures: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:4). The first ecumenical council of the Christian church in Nicaea 325 AD established the equality of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Holy Trinity and asserted that only the Son became incarnate as Jesus Christ.
Pulled from the Encyclopedia of Britannica:
The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. Initially, both the requirements of monotheism inherited from the Hebrew Scriptures and the implications of the need to interpret the biblical teaching to Greco-Roman religions seemed to demand that the divine in Christ as the Word, or Logos, be interpreted as subordinate to the Supreme Being. An alternative solution was to interpret Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three modes of the self-disclosure of the one God but not as distinct within the being of God itself. The first tendency recognized the distinctness among the three, but at the cost of their equality and hence of their unity (subordinationism). The second came to terms with their unity, but at the cost of their distinctness as “persons” (modalism). The high point of these conflicts was the so-called Arian controversy in the early 4th century. In his interpretation of the idea of God, Arius sought to maintain a formal understanding of the oneness of God. In defense of that oneness, he was obliged to dispute the sameness of essence of the Son and the Holy Spirit with God the Father. It was not until later in the 4th century that the distinctness of the three and their unity were brought together in a single orthodox doctrine of one essence and three persons.
@Spartan 300 "Neither the word “Trinity” nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament" False. - How so? Provide scriptural evidence please.
Christianity believes in ONE God, just like the Jews. - Mainstream Chistianity beleives in a Triune God.. one God in three Divine persons. It doesn't matter how much you twist language, it's POLYTHISM.
"The first ecumenical council of the Christian church in Nicaea 325 AD established the equality of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Holy Trinity and asserted that only the Son became incarnate as Jesus Christ." Yes...and?? What has this to do with the Trinity?? - It has to do with the FACT that the doctrine of the 'Holy Trinty' became Christian orthodoxy centurys after Christ's death.
Are you Oneness, by any chance?? - No I'm not Oneness, nor am I Pentecostal. If you was to categorize my faith then it would be Biblical Unitarian Monotheism.
Here are 7 key points of my faith:
1. God is only one “person”, not a trinity of persons. He is the Father, the Creator, and has His own personal name, Yahweh. He is repeatedly called the Father and God of the lord Jesus Christ.
2. Jesus the Christ (Messiah, or Anointed One) is the Son of God, not God the Son. Jesus has a God, just like we do. Jesus is our Saviour, soon coming King, High Priest, and unique human agent of the One God. According to the Bible, he was miraculously begotten and has been raised from the dead to a position at the right hand of God. He did not "pre-exist", but first came into existence in the womb of his human mother by miracle of holy spirit.
3. The holy spirit is not a person. It is the operational power and presence of God on earth and in the believer of the biblical Jesus, his Father, and the gospel of the coming Kingdom.
4. The Gospel concerns the coming Kingdom of God to this earth at the hands of the Messiah Jesus, through whom we have forgiveness of sins and the establishment of the New Covenant through his blood. We are to believe the good news, repent of leading a life based on unbelief, and show fruits indicative of that repentance. When Jesus returns he will resurrect the faithful saints to immortality in the Kingdom of God...the new heavens and the new earth to be established at the end of the current age.
5. According to the Bible, when people die they do not go immediately to heaven, nor to a place of eternal punishing called “hell”. Instead, all except Jesus are currently sound asleep in their graves. When Jesus returns he will raise the faithful dead from their sleep at which time they will be changed from their current carbon-based substance into human beings with “glorified” bodies. Then the rest of the dead will be raised after the initial 1,000 years of the Kingdom of God on earth are completed.
6. Adult, believers baptism in water is an essential part of the process of Christian salvation. It is the example of Jesus and the New Testament Church, and is commanded by them. When a person comes to believe the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God and repents of sin, water baptism should be pursued as soon as it is possible.
7. Old covenant laws, including laws pertaining to clean and unclean foods and certain "holy days", are not prerequisites of fellowship or being right with God in the New Covenant Church of God.

Jesus is clearly subordinate to God if you really examine the Greek scriptures, whether you believe that they are inspired or not.
The doctrine of the Trinity is a later construct created by man, for among other reasons, in order to make Christianity more palatable to the Romans.
"Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.".
This dates to within a couple years of Jesus's death and resurrection.

not really, it just went over your head. What happened there was WLC says there's a case for Jesus from the NT. But the discussion was on the OT and there wasn't much disagreement there. WLC's bases his position about Jesus on the NT.
It's like Rabbi Singer says... Christianity is the Easiest Falsifiable Religion in The World. Since Christianity is predicated upon Judaism, it must be consistent as it pertains to Theology, Doctrine, etc. etc.
Since Christianity has quite literally nothing in common with Judaism and The Tanakh it cannot be legit.
William Laine Craig is insufferable to listen to. He's got the personality of a giant bowl of expired potato salad with extra raisins.
@@boliussa yeah... The NT is so unbelievably corrupt. It's neither here nor there, though.
There's a concept in physics referred to as The Arrow of Time. Time only flows in one direction.
As such, we can easily make declaratory statements vis a vis 'Causality'.
The Tanakh came first, so it must be the most accurate. G-d gets it right the first time.
The fact that The NT is completely antithetical to The Tanakh is reason enough to dismiss it altogether.
Also, if G-d planned for a Man named Yashua to serve as a 'Messiah', The Tanakh would say so.
It says nothing of the sort.
It says nothing about a 'Messiah' (which is a Pagan Concept). It speaks only of a 'Mashiach'.
Yashua is mentioned a grand total of zero times.
Case Closed, dude.
@@boliussa Right... which is logically incoherent and completely out of step with the 1st century Jewish Torah world inhabited by Yeshua and his disciples. He was a Torah teacher, he had only one "Scripture" (Tanakh), and the idea that he'd become a god wouldn't take full form for another 300 years, and even then it wasn't "final full form theology" (which wouldn't happen till 750 or later). Historians generally don't have a problem seeing this... obviously theologians do...
The NT doesn't present a credible case for Jesus being God. He's consistently referred in the 3rd person as distinct from "God", who is a separate 3rd party entity. 1 Tim 2:5 being one of the best. But it's everywhere (e.g. Heb 1:1-2: "God" and "Son" are two separate entities). Jesus being God requires non-stop equivocation on the term "God", a logical fallacy.

Dan Jones Well you thought wrong, and you should read things other than fiction books
Not true
Oversimplification but you are correct in general. The Trinity doctrine was developed over time by men apart from the inspiration of God.
Even at the council of Nicaea the idea was still being developed and was not completely agreed upon at that time. It was further developed at later councils. Again No God present at those councils. Man made Creeds are unBiblical. The Scripture IS the creed. All Doctrine was complete with the Apostles in the first century. There have been no new doctrinal developments that God and Christ recognizes since Jesus gave it to the original Apostles. This includes Paul everything he learned and believed Peter and James And John already knew and practiced. “The One doctrine delivered ONCE and for all to the Saints.” No councils were ever needed to come along and develop Heresies later. Paganism pure Paganism.
So you Are correct Sir.
The trinity doctrine had been evolving through the first 3 centuries eventually ending up into the Nicene creed being declared, still had christological issues which later resulted in Calcedonian division between the apostolic churches in miaphysite and dyophysite churches.
In conclusion trinity is nonsense and trinitarian christianity cannot be considedered monotheistic in anyway .......

It’s so bizarre to me that Christian’s quote the NT to me when I ask for how do they “know” Jesus was from God. How can it be a witness unto itself? Your laughs were excellent, they didn’t even come across as scoffs but instead reactive as if someone hearing a joke for the first time as anyone would. I’m glad to have found your channel.
It makes no sense, why does God need to be 3 persons? with 3 different roles? God can do anything and has the role God, period! The sins of the guilty cannot be washed by the blood of the innocent.
The question is whether it is true or not, not what he needs- He didn't need this world which is bound by time and space either... Jesus emptying himself of his divine attributes and becoming man, a slave to the Father, obedient unto death, and as a result exalted by the Father (Phil 2), is not something that anyone asked for, but if that is how God has decided to deal with the sin of the world in grand fashion, 'how can we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?' Heb 2:3.
God covered the sins of Abraham with the ram, put him to sleep and passed through the divided animals alone, covered the sins of the Israelites in Egypt with lamb blood during the passover else the angel of death would have slain them also... yes? In John's revelation, the most common descriptor of Christ is a 'lamb who appeared slain'. Creepy, but also compelling mystery and drama to the angels, notes Peter (1 Pet 1:12)
I agree! In Judaism, we do not believe in vicarious atonement. If I wrong you, I must make my amends to you Nadine. My neighbor cannot come along and ask for forgiveness or make amends. The idea of a dude being killed on the cross for everyone else's sins is ridiculous to Jews and contradicts scripture.

Rabbi Tovia, You clearly won the debate. The logic is very clear. Christians should have no difficulty to accept that the scriptures in the Jewish Bible are inspired by God. If all the scriptures in New Testament would be also inspired by God, they must be consistent with the scriptures in the Jewish Bible. While no where in the Jewish Bible implies the trinity doctrine, then the New Testament scriptures implying the trinity doctrine must be wrong and cannot be used to prove the trinity doctrine. This is a very simple logic!

@heather602 you are the perfect example of a delusional christian. You just twisted the scripture to fit your belief and actually believe that what you said points to a trinity. God clearly states many times in a very clear manner, that he is alone. Soooo many times. And here you are pulling out interpretations and using vague verses to support your delusion. The fact that you think your interpretation supercedes Gods laws is crazy. Jesus broke laws and is a sinner. Therefore he isnt perfect.
Also, I don't think one must necessarily know &or understand the concept of the trinity to have their sins washed away. The man on the cross, who seemed to be repentant & believed, was told by Jesus that today he would be with him in paradise. Or am I wrong about this?

I wonder where Dr. Craig sees the trinity being taught in the New Testament since virtually all NT scholars agree that the doctrine of the trinity wasn't formulated until the 3rd-4th centuries?
I have had a problem with the Trinity since I was a youngster...7-8 years old. And the whole idea of God sending his Son to Die so that God will forgive our sins? He payed a debt? To whom? @@akkubaba "how can worshipping a dead man with holes still be monotheistic?"
The Son of God entered Creation and took on human flesh and died on a cross for our sins and then resurrected from the dead to vindicate his claims of divinity.
"Christianity is no better than the pagan Hindus who worship 330 million gods and goddesses"
Except they're not even in the slightest similar. We believe in One Perfect God who created the entire Universe while they believe in multiple gods and goddesses. We also have evidence for our claims in the resurrection of Jesus.
"in fact they are similar in terms of human sacrifice"
1. This is a complete fabrication. Show me one other pagan god/goddess that is similar to Jesus' death and resurrection. Just one!
2. Human sacrifice is seen in the Jewish Bible. Abraham is commanded by God to sacrifice his "only son" as a testament to his faith. Abraham then places the wood on Issac to carry up the mountain of Moriah and then on the mountain bounds him to the wood. Also note that Abraham tells to Issac that God will provide a sacrifice, which God eventually does. This is a clear foreshadowing of Jesus's death on the cross. God sacrifices his only son Jesus whom he has carry the cross or wood up the mountain and has him pierced to it! Isaiah 53 then prophecies a Suffering Servant who will die for others' sins and come back to life. Daniel 9 prophecies that the Anointed One will die and put an end to sacrifices and sin offerings. In 2 Samuel 7, Nathon prophecies to David that the Messiah will be called God's son and that when he does wrong he will be punished with floggings with whips wielded by human hands, etc.
3. Jesus free willingly gave his life away on the cross out of love. This is clearly very different than human sacrifices in pagan religions.
“ Son of God entered Creation and took on human flesh and died on a cross“ if he died on the cross then he is not god then ? As god never dies.
God never allows human sacrifice, in case of prophet Abraham it was a test. God doesn’t accept human sacrifice.
Why do you have to engage in verbal gymnastics 🤸♀️ and sin just to justify the godship of Jesus? Why can’t god who is merciful and kind not just forgive?
Then you should be thankful to the Jews who killed your god and not be vengeful towards them?
Is your god so hapless and incompetent that he couldn’t convince the Jews that he was the messiah? If he couldn’t achieve anything during his first mission what great would be his achievement in his next?

Tovia is so funny, but completely on point!
Excellent excellent debate Tovia! You are absolutely right, it is clear Christ never claimed to be God, and the Apostles never taught that he was God in the New Testament. 10:10 this is where he lies outright. Nowhere in scripture did the Apostles treat the Holy Spirit as a separate person in scripture. Every epistle in the New Testament opens with praises and blessings to God the Father and to his SON... the "person" of the Holy Spirit is not even mentioned, much less given blessings to nor is he praised. If the Holy Spirit is a "person" of his own in some triune Godhead, he would have to be pretty upset by now because the Apostles ignored him in their letters and spoke of him, not as a person but as merely a guiding influence (force).
Jesus Christ never said, I am Christ. It's very hard to find only the exact words you want to hear in the Bible but Jesus did proclaim that he was the son of God by agreeing with Peter who said that he thinks that Jesus is the son of God. Matthew 16: 13-20
