Honestly this was the game that saved Mortal Kombat from dissapearing, people easily forgets that during that time Midway was close to bankruptcy and thanks to this game, Warner went ahead and bought Midway Chicago and transformed it into NRS.

The close combat and air combat was a great addition,even with injustice and mk1 i would still olay this with friends
Even though some people clown this game . This is the first video game I remember playing on a console. My uncle had it and we used to have tournaments with the whole family and I’d practice to get good. Probably my favorite and most nostalgic video game of all time .
I cannot believe this is not available for PC. I would still buy it.

So?? Mortal Kombat isn’t all fatalities and “blood and guts”, fatalities haven’t been a main selling point for well over a decade.
It did. Back then where I’m from, we actually called it the “weak” game because of that; only weak wasn’t the word we used back then. 😆 how time flies.
When everyone liked video games. Now it’s divided and to preference. You don’t like it don’t buy it. You can’t please anyone now days. If there’s a minor bug they call the game trash and unfinished, that’s because of the 4k 120fps graphics that we want, ofc it’s gonna lag not even the best pc can run it smoothly thanks to us.
The 2000s/ early 2010s is when video game culture peak in my opinion.
We call this game trash because the combo system is abysmal, it had no variety with its game modes and there was no violence or gore one of this franchises main selling points.

He wasn’t one of the main mk characters when this game came out
He was actually meant to be DLC along with Quan Chi, Harley Quinn and Nightwing, but due to the less than stellar reception of the game, it was scrapped.

The models to fight with isnt bad either , if this was to get an upgrade the character models might be even more fun to play with, with those sizes and angles

So like the Draconians (if thats what theyre called) go up against the likes of Godzilla, Kong, Ghidorah, Mothra, Anguirus, Koumonga etc and eventually have to take out this hybrid of Necrosan and Monster X or Biollante or something lol
I think this might’ve been my first mortal kombat game, I remember playing with my dad when I was like 8 or something

Imo. At the time, including me, I really think that people got tired of playing the same fighting system for the past 3 titles, this being the 4th, and that they had ran out of ideas to keep it going. That's why we got a reboot with mk9. It was a cool system, but the burnout was pretty high. (I liked the idea of MK vs DC though)
I remember being disappointed because it wasn't the next True Sequel to MK. But I still played this game and for what it is. It ain't bad of a game.
This game was awesome still remember opening it on Christmas Day.
What make the best one if add entire mk and dc characters in one which will explode the greatest game ever.

Sub bosses: shao kahn and akuma and devil jin
Sub bosses on hard mode: dark scorpion and devil kazuya and oni
Final boss: evil ryu
Final boss on hard mode: devil heihaci mishima
Final boss on bloody mode: blaze mixed with power of the elder gods
