I love how we've all accepted that there's something attached to us, the voices, my friends, all of us, it's better this way. We're happier this way.
I think there are 2 perspectives for this song:
1. The girl broke up with the guy, he was in love with her and was heartbroken, he developed depression and imagined she was there with him. Her being a ghost can mean the feelings he thought she felt for him. Due to seeing her "ghost", he drinks his sorrows away.
2. The girl actually did die, causing the man to go a bit coo-coo and start seeing her ghost. He starts drinking cuz seeing your dead girlfriend'wife every day, haunting you, is pretty bad. When he mentions he wants to see her when he gets older, he means he cant wait to see her when he's also dead.
These could be wrong though, one is more metaphoric and the other is quite literal
i don't know the line "see you when i know i'm not supposed to" just make me think
1.He broke up with a crazy girl and got a restraining order against her but she's stalking him.
2. She broke up with him and HE"S crazy and she got the restraining order against him and he's stalking her

And another thing; yes I have been an animal jam youtuber than had a decent popularity in the fandom, but I lost interest in posting after 2 years and stopped :(. Due to that unfortunately happening, I had to delete most of my videos and change my channel name. I was also banned from ajpw because I said something that ajhq thought was referring to selling items for actual USD (which is illegal). I sent many emails since August 30th, 2020, I tried commenting on their instagram posts, then sent them a dm (which was sent since January 3rd, 2021). Trying out all those things, AJHQ had done one thing; told me to send an email to their official support team (Which I have already done 4 times since the August of 2020). So at this point, I just gave up and had to quit everything.

I think the story to this song is this:
A man and a woman were together for a while. The woman suffered from depression and the man didn't know. So one day she killed herself because she couldn't take things anymore. "I Must be dreaming cuz I don't believe in ghosts yea." That's where I got the assumption that she died. "I think I saw you but I know I'm not supposed to" another piece of evidence. "Hope to see you one day when I get older." As in older, he means by when he dies and sees her in the afterlife.

sorry to break this to you but ghost aka ,ghosted' is a dating term :'D it means for example: ,i told her i like her, but she ghosted me the next day!' means, the person started to pretend that nothing ever happened, and basically completely isolate themself from the person they ghosted and ignore them at any cost. Sooo, i dont think its about a dead girl .. no. :D this song is too funky to be about a girlfiend that died xD

Ghost: rude
What I think the story is about: There was a boy and a girl. They were both Boyfriend and girlfriend. One day, the girlfriend died because of unknown reasons. But, what everyone does know is that the girl died in the month of October. Suddenly, strange things start happening to the boy. The boy starts being able to smell his girlfriends perfume even though he threw them away, and he starts seeing her everywhere even though she died. But the boy thinks he’s dreaming cause he doesn’t believe in ghosts. Despite that, he still dreams of seeing his girlfriend in the afterlife, so he carries on with his day despite all the weird things happening to him.
At least that’s what I think the story is about. Even though the story is pretty depressing, I still can’t help rocking out to this song every once in a while XD

What I think the story is about: There was a boy and a girl. They were both Boyfriend and girlfriend. One day, the girlfriend died because of unknown reasons. But, what everyone does know is that the girl died in the month of October. Suddenly, strange things start happening to the boy. The boy starts being able to smell his girlfriends perfume even though he threw them away, and he starts seeing her everywhere even though she died. But the boy thinks he’s dreaming cause he doesn’t believe in ghosts. Despite that, he still dreams of seeing his girlfriend in the afterlife, so he carries on with his day despite all the weird things happening to him.
At least that’s what I think the story is about. Even though the story is pretty depressing, I still can’t help rocking out to this song every once in a while XD

I first heard the night core version of this song and got used to it's fast pace. But every since I started listening to the original, I've come to like its steady tempo more! In relationship/dating slang ,,ghosted" means that you completely stop to communicate with someone you used to date/be friend with. So i assume this song is about a girl that ,ghosted' him (broke up with him and pretendedd he doesn't even exist ) and ,the day you made me blue' is a metaphore as you may know for ,the day you made me sad' so possibly the day she broke up with him :D

Jeez I remember 3 years ago people were making theories left and right about what the songs story is about, arguments were everywhere and you had the occasional person who just said “Guys calm down it’s just a song.” yea those types of people…. they don’t have a fun imagination.
Here are all the theories I remember reading that people came up with:
1. She died and he’s grieving over her.
2. She’s alive and they both broke up, and he’s just grieving and hallucinating.
3: They broke up and the guy in the story is being petty, calling her a ghost to get back at her.
4. He killed her after an argument and the ghost of her is haunting him, causing him to drink a lot.
5: He’s died and is seeing her from the living world.
I personally thought it was just number 1 the whole time, it’s simple and straight forward and that’s what I think the song writer was going for.
This song is most likely about a heartbreak in October (girl dumps the guy) but I had an interesting thought about it being much more sad where she dies and she left him, and he thought he saw her but she’s dead so he says he doesn’t believe in ghosts either, so it must have been in a dream. Just an interesting thought.

i really like this song, the first few times i thought i was pretty upbeat but then i actually listened to the lyrics and i believe this song is written about a person whom he loved that died and his coping with it. It's odd because the lyrics make me sad and are relate able but the beat is too nice not to dance. What a great song
One of the only romantic experiences that I've had weirdly relates to this song. I was 16 at the time and this good friend of mine (who I had been developing a slight crush on) took me out on a date. It was a first for both of us but despite the nerves and slight awkwardness we had a fun time on the date. But after my parents figured out that he was 19 they told me they wouldn't allow me to have a relationship with someone who was almost 3 years older than me. It made me pretty upset but I wanted to respect what my parents said so I told him that I'd rather hold off on dating. He says "We're still friends though, right?" and I said "There's no way I could ghost a friend like you over this."
So I guess the whole ghost theme of the song, and the fact that this happened in October, and the "hope to see you later when I get older" directly applies. Idk, probably no one cares, and I know this isn't close to original meaning of the lyrics. I guess I'm just putting this comment here so when I come back to this song, I'll remember what this song means to me, and so I'll remember to keep waiting.
