Gunter Schlierkamp the uncrowned Mr. Olympia. All time best. He was the recent bodybuilder with fully developed body, size and definition and most importantly without bubble gut.

It’s not harder to gain muscle when your taller, it takes longer to fill out since taller people have more surface area than short people.
@@doublem1975x Agreed. It's not an issue of gaining muscle, it's an issue of gaining enough to cover a much larger skeleton.

I love how when body builders are in the mood to fight, they don't actually want to fight, they want to flex and be announced the best flexer by their peers
Gunter is such a true sportsman and a gentleman, even losing he's so humble and thanked his fans, his personality calibre is just great.
What was impressive about Lou Ferrigno is he entered the world's strongest man competition and he actually won two of the events that year, the barbending event and the carlifting event. Even though he didn't win overall, it was still impressive for a bodybuilder to do that.

His first exposure, which blew the nonsense about " muscle bound" limitations, was in the first annual Superstars comp in the 70s, againts people like Rod Laver, Joe Frazier and many other famous athletes from baseball and football. Bob Segran, Olympic pole gold medalist won, and Lou came third. Changed public perception overnight. Made AS look like a novice.
He did it last minute just for fun, too. He said that in an interview
I too remember Lou Ferrigno competing in the 1970s to 1980's Superstars television competition show. I cannot remember how he placed, but he surprised a lot of the professional athletes he competed against.

Paul Dillett is the most ridicilous body ive ever seen, super small waist with the most radical shoulders with a small head gives crazy proportions.

Grew up in the Montréal Gym scene as a young guy I saw so much from the head offices of the IFBB to the struggle on the streets of guys trying you support their careers financially. Paul was one that had it extremely rough, there were so many that brutalized their own lives as well as their bodies. He made it through okay.

Lou always impressed me- especially so with his 90's comeback- Just a huge, strong guy.
Gunther never got the credit he deserved- and Ralf Moeller would fit right in with todays "classic" physique comps...
Read these comments... Günter reigns in the truest sense. Best he kept his health, his looks, an honest career in fitness and genuine fans. You must feel almost pity for some of those other "Great Champs".
Lou never struck me as strong. Franco Columbo said he could've been the greatest if he trained properly. In Pumping Iron its evident Lou wasn't the greatest in the gym.

@SlickRicHelicopter so what happened to him in Pumping Iron? Didn't look like he was lifting as heavy as Arnold. Also he was getting worn out in that workout with his pops.

Lou was unbelievable in his comeback. If he had kept competing instead of doing the Hulk, he would have racked up a shelf full of Sandow statues.
Hulk was in the late 70`s and early 80´s... He came back in 1992.

He would probably be dead or in bad health as bodybuilders were starting to use more and more PEDs. It's sad he never got to win Mr. Olympia but he became the iconic hulk we all admire. I am glad he stopped in as he has his health which is worth more than any statue gathering dust on a shelf.

To anybody reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. And may peace and calmness fill your life.
Gunter and Paul Dillet were the absolute BEST. Big men who had the structure of a classic physique with modern day size and conditioning. And neither of these two legends had the notorious "Bubble Gut". I preferred their physiques over Yates, Coleman, Cutler and Heath absolutely 💯 percent all day.
Ditto, it's not just the bubble gut. Those guys, even Flex were scary in their self destruction. Paul went super skinny, but he's good. Günter trimmed down and looks amazing. Both have very healthy and happy minds... A different type of fan base too 😉
Dillett from teh back was a mess and couldnt pose. But he realy coudl match Dorian from the front for sure
Gunther looking best here he was robbed of that 2002 Mr. Olympia.He even had legs at least on par with Coleman if not bigger no one did that until Big Ramy.And he had better conditioning then both Coleman or Ramy.

I got to meet Gunther once back in 2005-06 at a Bodybuilding show. I thought I was a fairly large dude myself, somewhere around 210 LBS on a 6'0 frame. I went up to shake this dudes hand, and his forearms were bigger than my entire upper arm. I remember thinking he could crush my hand, but he didn't, he was incredibly gentle actually. And he had this big ol' smile across his face like he loved being there. Really put BB into perspective for me, one of my all time fav's.
And yet a pro armwrestler weighing 175lbs will break his arm.

Had a great run in with Gunter at a Coffee Shop in Manhattan Beach. I saw him and shouted “Gunter”! He was so nice, I said “you are the new Arnold” he says, “No! I don’t want to be the next Arnold! I am Gunter!” Very down to Earth. 💪🏻

it's so hard for us tall guys to be big. you can gain tons of muscle but you still look skinny. if you put that same amount of muscle on a short guy, he's ready for olympia.
Being tall is also a genetic gift, because if you have the same proportion of muscle to height as a short olympian, youd be bigger than that guy because there's more space to add muscle.
When u say tall is 6ft included?

Its crazy it feels like every one in the top 5 of the early 2000s would win in the current era. Somewhere in the last decade we lost the art of making body building look good and having good personalitys

I don’t know if we appreciate Lou, Ralf, and Olivier enough. I’m 6’8” and I know how goddamn hard it is to lift at this height. Benching isn’t easy. Squatting isn’t easy. Etc. But these guys fuckin crushed it like kings
Especially deadlifts. I am only 6’2 or 6’3, but the fact that I have to reach down much further for deadlifts makes it harder.
@@scalywing1 why is the deadlift world record held by a guy that is 6'8 if it's harder for tall people? the reality of the situation is that almost evry lift is easyer the taller you are up til atleast 7'0 the average strong man competitor is around 6'8

I met Lou Ferrigno when I was a kid. Never forget it
I used to ride my bike down to the mall and go to the bookstore to look at The Pumping Iron book in the 70’s. I finally earned enough money and bought it. I was a small kid and wanted to play football. I started lifting as soon as I got the book. I ended up getting a D1 college football scholarship.

Gunter looked like a God on that stage. He had that display of power, strength and beauty all wrapped into one. Imo he was discriminated against just because he was a German man and they didnt want him being the face of the Olympia so they went with Ronnie instead. He absolutely shouldve won.
