Thank you for another great video. Jack showed me/my kids the neck slot drill and it works quite well. Another benefit for the smaller kids is the bat doesn’t feel heavy when they are working the technique so they can get more reps than if they had to support the bat with only with their hands.
Thank you for this great hitting hack. I have been implementing this into one of my players routines and it has really helped to get her to turn her hips and fire her hands in one quick motion instead of dropping her hands and the barrel of the bat. Keep Posting!
Thanks again Matt still working on it. Two seasons. Starting to finally stop doing it. Myself and 3 trainers thousands later. Lol maybe he is just growing out of it. He says he doesn't no he does it. Until I show him tape.
Thanks for the instruction. My son has gotten into a habbit of straightening his lead arm and i really didn't pick up thay it was a result of him dropping his hands. He used to drop his hands bugtime but has worked out of it a little, but i guess hes stoll doinf it a little. Hopefully o can coach it out of him with these drills. He's 10 and has really gotten bitten by the baseball bug.
They think the idea of hitting a home run is hitting “up on the ball”. If he’s still young make sure you hammer this aspect, as a high school varsity coach it’s hard to eliminate when they get to this level
Elbow level with the shoulder and his hands will follow. His elbows dropping and the hands are following.... Start his stance with Elbow high. Hands high wins the fight 🥊, hands low TKO...
Matt love your content! This might be dumb question but Sir do you find some problems in loading with upper body or whole if player only do drill work from set launch position for more than week without doing load?
Do you have any advice for a kid that looks really good off the tee, hands don't drop and hip rotation is clean and he stays balanced. But when it comes to facing pitching (he's 7, coach pitch) he loses all of that and starts collapsing during his load/dropping hands and getting out front?
Man, age has a lot to do with it, and brain overload. I think they all get sone weird habits along the way. My son will be great then drop his hands all of the sudden. He will have 3 or 4 games smoking then ball, one game little bloopers, then it’s gone. - Kids watch RUclips, see all kind of crazy things. My son is 7 as well. It can be so frustrating. Then I rem, well he’s 7, and I’m an idiot haha. Good luck

What I love as a coach...options. New ways to teach the same concepts. And Matt does this as well as anyone.
Such a great video, a lot of people told me I drop my hands, and did not understood, until now, what they mean😊
Thanks!!
Thank you sir. I’ve been looking for a video to help my son and this is the ticket. We also learning from ur throwing video. Thank you

Very helpful video! Going to give these a try with my son tonight.
Awesome good luck!
Ken Griffey Jr. should be every little kid's model.
Great advice and greatly appreciated!
Awesome! Thank your for sharing
Very good coaching. Very good approach.

Excellent video. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Thx for the great video
My boy just started doing it this season. Not sure where it came from

Thx Tonelli
That’s a cue I figured out on the tee! 8:37
I thought of it as “flossing the neck”

Prob my son dropping hands is fear getting hit with ball. Hands come down as protective mechanism
Do you think this would be good for kids ages 5-7?
serious question from my son. How does he get under the ball with hands up high? thanks
You don't want to get under the ball. Swing through the ball
Can you do a breakdown of manny machado
What was your bat size?
Matt! Ya gotta chop DOWN at the bawl son!
Darn forgot about that!!!
I disagree.

Lol I'll start by removing the ball and doing a bunch of these reps to see if it translates. I prematurely asked before finishing!
My 7 year old son does this too, great in practice but totally different swing in game

Mattie, a "rep" is a repetition?
Yea
Where is this going? Im out
I believe it was drills to stop dropping your hands
👎🏼
The explosion audio at the beginning sounds awful. But great video as always!
nah, it is the old intro he had a while back, I prefer it.
@@soonerdude1142 nah.
Me: Wow, those are some insights I never considered.
You: Explosions bad.
Good lord.
@@jasonfritz838 Some sounds do bother people.
Hi
Number one reason hitters want to drop hands is poor spine angle posture. That must be trained first.
Explain.
Ummm...no.
@@danielhoward4566 No, do not have him explain. It's going to be terrible.
@@jasonfritz838 But at least we could get a laugh out of it. ;-)
@@danielhoward4566 Now I'm leaning your way. You've convinced me. I must know.
Good stuff, as usual.
