00:32 Describe the formation and identify the contents of the carpal tunnel
01:10 Explain why the median nerve is likely compressed in the carpal tunnel
01:35 Carpals of the proximal row
01:46 The scaphoid: tubercle and waist

02:54 Understand that the scaphoid bone is the most frequently fractured carpal bone
03:02 Explain avascular necrosis that might complicate fracture of the scaphoid
03:25 Understand that the lunate bone is the most frequently dislocated carpal bone
04:33 The triquetral
05:06 The pisiform
05:36 Carpals of the distal row
05:44 The trapezium: ridge and groove for flexor carpi radialis
05:55 Identify the saddle joint between the trapezium and thumb metacarpal and appreciate its importance in increasing the movements of the thumb
06:15 Explain why the tendon of flexor carpi radialis occupies a separate tunnel within the carpal canal
07:32 The trapezoid
07:38 The capitate
07:48 The hamate: hook and groove for the deep branch of the ulnar nerve
07:57 Explain why the ulnar nerve might be injured following a fracture of the hook of the hamate
08:31 Explain why the deep branch of the ulnar nerve is compressed in handlebar neuropathy
08:58 Explain why the ulnar nerve is compressed in Guyon’s canal syndrome
09:29 Identify surface anatomical landmarks

I am study Physiotherapy and all of your videos help a lot! Keep going and make those great videos! Greetings from Greece
+Pantelis Dekoulakos Thanks! Good luck in your studies.
+Human Anatomy Education Thank you a lot Dr.Jaffar.
Very knowledgeable breakdown of the wrist structure.
The pisiform is as the sesamoid bones of the big toe of the foot.
The cuneiform bones of the foot form a similar arch. The lateral cuneiform being the keystone of this arch. In the hand the capitate seems to be the keystone.
When I was younger I could hold 200 pounds pressure for five seconds on a bathroom scale with my hands only.
I once broke my left scaphoid bone and had to wear a cast for months. It had been damaged by not getting attention sooner.
Awesome 👏✊👍
Is it the Pisiform carpal bone that visibly projects, down from the little finger ? During undertaking strenuous manual work on a building project, when I was 65, my wrist began to hurt and weaken. A few months later, I noticed that the projecting bone in my right wrist had doubled in size (ossification ?), and the bottom pads in my little and adjacent finger had hardened, later causing my little finger to become bent due to fibres growing around the tendons (Dupuytren's Contracture). I guess nothing can be done about the ossification, but as a musician and teacher, my bent little finger is causing me distress. I've had the collagenase injection, followed my a needle fasciotomy, which loosened the little finger for two months, before the fibres started growing and knitting together again, and now I'm back where I started. Any advice welcome - thanks.
Not after one view! ;-)

One of the best videos regarding the wrist!
Could you a video about the cause on ulnar side of the wrist injury as well as tennis elbow ?
Go to the series picture tests of anatomy upper limb and you find about tennis elbow in a video on the forearm I guess. Thank you for your feedback.

Nice explanation,sir.
