For big torque values the tollerances matter significantly less. Hence accuracy from a clicker wrench is fine most times. From an engineering perspective with regular bolted joints we aim for 60-80% of the allowable bolt tension. We calculate the torque setting based on 70% of the tensile load and assume a bolt condition, such as lightly greased. So say you have a bolt that needs 110Nm, you could be from 94-125Nm and still be within that 60-80% tension value. What is more important is consistency in torquing the bolts so that each bolt contributes a similar amount to clamping the bolted joint load.
The problem of accuracy is significantly more important with smaller torque values, such as the stupid once use aluminium bolts in magnesium casings. The other example is indexed spark plugs. This is where accuracy matters significantly more and digital torque wrenches really shine over simply click type torque wrenches. Especially as feeling the click gets harder and harder the smaller the torque value. Of course the skill of the operator of the torque wrench matters significantly regardless of the tool used.
💥 This one is a classic Steve! Loved the review. Your humor and flat out honest personality speak volumes about the product.
*Keep on tractoring!* 😁👍
Hey bud so nice of you to say.. 👍
Morning Steve, sorry i was mistaken, its not active carbon it's the carbon stick in the middle of old batteries we used which reacts with stomach acids and causes gases which expand and well, the results are a bit messy.
Oh ok 👍
I am still trying to figure out what a AAA coin battery is .
Hahaha so am I Terry . If I was AC Delco I would not let them use the brand with instructions like that.
hows it holding thinking of buying one but wondering how it will do down the road
So far so good , for the price it's accurate and we'll built.
I never used a torque wrench in my life, I got use to the feel of the tool in my hand and never had a problem. Then one day I bought a cheap one and popped a valve cover bolt, end of story. But I got my faith back using a friend's snap on after that.
HAHA keep the faith brother but stay away from the stuff with a manual only a loaded sailor could understand :)
Best entertainment I've got on a tool review in a while 🤣 Subscribed.
LOL thanks bud much appreciated 👍
Great review Steve, for my money I'm sticking with my clicker type torque wrench. Simple and easy to use. Thanks as always, Cheers
Hi Lloyd
Good choice as they always are ready to work without batteries.
the sun is shining, the wind is blowing through your hair, and you're cruising down the open road in your beloved VW Beetle. You can't help but feel a sense of joy and freedom as you hit the gas and let the engine roar.
As you approach the bank, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement as you plan out all the adventures you'll have with your newly acquired funds. You pull up to the ATM and withdraw all your money, feeling proud of your financial independence and ready to hit the road again. With a full tank of gas and the wind in your hair, the possibilities are endless on this epic road trip.
You won a subscriber 😂 by far you're the most SAVAGE Canadian I've seen.
👍
I was surprised it was ok steve, and i dont know why you cant read the instructions, dont you read Chinese
Hi Jason
My Chinese is a bit off and the Chinese English is a lot off 😅
@@SteveRobReviews lol
Me love instructions long time :)
It’s a keeper Steve and I’m so happy you went and buy it, cuz I don’t have to.....I got some clicker type and that’s ll I’m going to kneed.....CHEERS
Hi Gator
Ya that's all you need plus this one would drive you crazy tiring to understand the cockeyed manual :)
Always click type for me, don't have to worry about batteries unless i'm using it all the time
So far its taking a bit to get used to but overall it's quite accurate . I was doing a water pump on a ls and it felt like I was going to strip the bolts but it did well.
How's she goin'? So you're the kind of guy who reads the directions ... OK. I'd just grab the thing and use it. It seems to work so good deal!! Take care!!
Hi Mike
Reading these destructions were painfull, it's great for now but for how long we will see.
“More money than brains” 😂 Great review Steve! At least it works given all the funky english instructions.
Hi Doug
It does seem to work alright but man oh man the Chinese don't do themselves any favors with their crappy manuals !!!
I could see their wording was pissing you off bigly! I have the same Canadian Tire 1/2' drive torque wrench as you! Works great for my purposes. I've got a 3/8 and 1/4' Gray Tools torque wrenches, I won them in a draw. They look an awful lot like the Princess Auto ones. One day I'll get a digital 1/2", but 99% of the time I'm only using a torque wrench for lug nuts. I use the 3/8' for everything else and my eyesight is probably worse than yours, so maybe a glitchy digital screen isn't the best idea.
I don't really trust Tommy Lees certification, but all my torque wrenches (including the Powerfist ones) have been pretty accurate. A good friend of mine owns a machine shop and has a torque wrench tester.
Hi Bruce
The CT and PA ones seem accurate enough for me too.
Can you adjust this one to NM?
@EFRANEED Yes absolutely
@@SteveRobReviews thanks!
Good Morning Steve, I have to go but tonight I will make a Steve Rob Review Videos because I miss a lots of them Sir !!! 😮😢 See you tonight !!! Cheers !!

Well done Dr. Steve! Nice review but I'm not ordering one.
Hi Rick
Good idea bud LOL
Good Evening Sir, i'm sold on the click torque wrench since they are easy to test and reset 😇👍👌 Ho boy,,, a lots of mistakes on the traduction Sir 🥴 Thank you Sir, electronic is prone to failure Sir Cheers 🍻🍻
Hi Dave
I'm thinking most like the click style but digital is nice too. Cheers 👍
well im surprised it works as well the company needs to review their spelling for sure too bad the display sucks good review all and all time will tell for sure
Thanks buddy , lucky for them I'm not one of their RUclips sales people LOL
Who knew, when not touring with the Crue that Tommy certifies torque wrenches!.
HAHA what a gong show eh !!!
Sorry Steve, I would give this a solid 8, the documentation sucks and the calibration sheet is suspect but the tool does what it was designed to do. Cheers my YT friend.
Hi Larry
Its alright so far but its not a snap-on for sure and at that cost its on par with harbor freight so im actually not sure if I got a deal or a new wheel chock :)
Steve, if you were to repeat the test in reverse order, i.e., set the tool to 10 ft-lb for the largest bolt which you had pre-torqued to 30 ft-lb using another torque wrench, you would find that the electronic one would "pass" spot on and beep exactly at 10 ft-lb. The reason is that your test method is fundamentally flawed. Besides that, full marks for entertainment value! Take it as a compliment from a fellow Canuck ;-)
I do not see any flaws but your welcome to make a video showing your different results . Cheers 👍
If you don't do the "meter stuff" this wrench should be just fine for you 😂
👍
Bubbles is that you?
Yes is that you Ricky
What the hell is an instruction manual? By the way, you don't need to read any manual to tell you you shouldn't have your hand off the indicated area for operation. Why do you think those black marks are on the handle?
🤷
Exactly the bother here in the UK
That's better than average Chinglish. The Chinese factories need to hire a native from each country to write their manuals.
I agree , AC Delco should be on top of this and not allow putting their name on products with poor communications.
Good one Steve The Scotty Kilmer of torque Wrenches 😅Guessing you have a lot of money 😅don’t torque much but like watching the ladies.
Hi Joe
The key to life is marry a rich woman LOL
You’re lucky,❤The Next review is on keeping her happy 😊
@Joe O She's down in Florida today on a cruise ship , thru the Caribbean with her girlfriends so I'm going shopping 😅
Dam you’re lucky 😂 But who’s fixing dinner

👍👍
👍
those instructions become far more understandable if you use a Chinese accent while reading them
😅🤣👍
You get what you pay for. Nuff said.
Yes exactly.
Great HONEST review. Have a couple of click & bar type, which I will stick with. THANKS FOR another great review
Hi Les
Thanks buddy 👍
WELCOME TO CHINA ENGLISH! LOL. BEST REVIEW IN THE COMEDY.
Well thank you much appreciated .
Unit is fine....throw the instructions away.
Good idea Mike 👍
More re-branding coming out of Chineses factories👎🏻
Take care Steve👍
Hi Marc
I find it brand destroying when a brand licenses its name for products and they put out a crappy instruction manual. Snap-On is doing the same . Seems everything is made there . Cheers 👍
Where did you find AAA Coin Cells? 😂
HAHAHA 👍
You probably got a clone.
Could be 🤷
