- Meseritz ist eine der ältesten deutschen Ortschaften des Posener Landes, eine heftig umkämpfte Ortschaft zwischen Polen, Brandenburg und Schlesien. Meseritz liegt an der Mündung der Packlitz in die Obra. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung des Ortes stammt schon aus dem Jahr 1005 in der Beschreibung einer Schlacht zwischen Bolesław I. und Heinrich II. Der Ort hatte eine strategisch wichtige Bedeutung, da er an den Wegen von Gnesen nach Magdeburg und von Stettin nach Breslau und Krakau lag. 1094 eroberten die Polen die an der Mündung der Packlitz in die Obra befindliche Burganlage von den Pommern zurück. Am 29. Januar 1230 wurde offiziell das Zisterzienserkloster Paradies gegründet. 1248 ist der Ort in der Großpolnischen Chronik des Posener Bischofs Bogufał als Stadt erwähnt. Eine genauere Beurkundung des Stadtrechts existiert nicht. Bis zum Jahre 1329 war das Gebiet um Meseritz immer stark umkämpft. So gehörte Meseritz zeitweise zu Pommern und zu Brandenburg. Erst im Jahre 1329 kam Meseritz endgültig zu Polen. König Kasimierz III. siedelte im Raum Meseritz deutsche Siedler an. 1474 wurde der Ort von Matthias Corvinus zerstört, aber wieder aufgebaut. Kasimir IV. bestätigt 1485 die Stadtrechte von Mie;dzyrzecz. 1606 wütet ein großer Brand in der Stadt. Im 16. Jahrhundert lebten etwa 10.000 Menschen in der Stadt. Im Jahre 1655 plünderten schwedische Truppen die Stadt. Im Jahre 1710 wütete in der Stadt die Pest, und im Sommer des Jahres 1731 kam es zu einem Stadtbrand. Durch eine Vielzahl von kriegerischen Handlungen in den Jahren 1735, 1744, 1758-61 und 1759 ging die Einwohnerzahl auf 3.500 Einwohner zurück. Mit der II. polnischen Teilung fällt der Ort 1793 an Preußen. Im Jahre 1806 wird von Napoleon das Herzogtum Warschau gegründet, infolge dessen kam Meseritz zum Herzogtum Warschau. Am 26. November 1806 hält Napoleon sich in der Stadt auf, es wurde ein Attentat auf ihn geplant. 1807 wird der Ort Teil des Großherzogtums Warschau. Nach Beendigung der Befreiungskriege kam Meseritz nach dem Wiener Kongreß im Jahre 1815 wieder bis 1945 zu Preußen und wurde am 01. Januar 1818 Sitz der Verwaltung des gleichnamigen Landkreises. 1827 kommt es zu einem Brand der Evangelischen Kirche. 1885 bekam die Stadt einen Eisenbahnanschluß an die Linie Posen-Benschen. Innerhalb Preußens gehörten Stadt und Kreis Meseritz bis 1919 zur Provinz Posen, zwischen 1919 und 1938 zur Provinz Grenzmark Posen-Westpreußen und nach deren Auflösung am 01. Oktober 1938 bis 1945 zur Provinz Brandenburg. Bereits vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg hatte die deutsche Wehrmacht im nahe gelegenen Nipter die Bunkeranlagen der "Grenzschutzbefestigungsanlage III" im Zusammenhang mit der "Festungsfront Oder-Warthe-Bogen" errichtet. Diese Anlage hatte eine Gesamtlänge von etwa 65 Kilometer und war mit einem 30 Kilometer langen Verbindungstunnel ausgestattet. Im Jahre 1939 lebten in Meseritz zirka 12.096 Einwohner. Nach dem Einmarsch der Roten Armee am 31. Januar 1945 wurde die Stadt unter Vertreibung der deutschen Bevölkerung unter polnischer Verwaltung in Międzyrzecz umbenannt. 1994 erfolgte die Renovierung des Rathauses. 1997 wurde der Adler im Stadtwappen, der 1924 mit den preußischen Insignien versehen worden war, durch den polnischen ersetzt.
Was ist das für eine Scheiße? Międzyrzecz ist eine polnische Königsstadt mit einem weißen Adler im Wappen. Bis zur zweiten Teilung des Königreichs Polen 1793 durch drei heimtückische Feinde, zweiköpfige schwarze Adler, gehörte es zur polnischen Krone als Grenzstadt. 1918 kehrte er aufgrund der Germanisierung und Verstaatlichung nicht an die Grenzen der wiedergeborenen polnischen Republik zurück. Er kehrte 1945 infolge des alliierten Abkommens in Jalta als Entschädigung für verlorene Grundstücke im Osten und als im Laufe der Jahrhunderte germanisiertes slawisches Territorium zurück. Es wird so bleiben.

This was part of the western part of Posen in West Prussia south the entire western and northern part of the province was dominated by Germans . It clearly rightfully ours now until biblical judgement . Plus we were at least 50 percent of the population of the city of Posen itself don't believe Polish fantasy statistics entered into Wikipedia which isn't a valid source by the way hugely over counting Poles and undercounting ethnic Germans . If the Versailles treaty was remotely fair all of these land including the German dominated western territories would of stayed in the German nation without any debate .
