- Sorry this one is so long btw. There's two parts and they're both over 10 seconds so the process section is long (and the copyright was a nightmare to navigate, thus the funky audio editing).
I'm extremely proud of this one, excited to finally introduced these characters to everyone, and have a ton of anxiety about uploading it, so I guess I'm finally glad to get it out. Had to rush it a bit at the end because I'm moving abroad in a few days, but I don't think it hurt the quality at all.
Story for those who are curious:
(Part 1) Caveclan and the clan territories have finally entered a period of peace after a stressful conflict. The current and recently appointed leader, Saltstar (white cat), has recently taken on a new apprentice, Echopaw (black and white cat), and does so with a lot of anxiety as his former apprentice turned out terrible. Saltstep is very rigid and set in his ways, while Echopaw has a hard time being motivated to do nay clan duties, and is more spontaneous and inquisitive. One day, while wandering the cave system they call home (against Saltstar's order) she (literally) falls into a cavern with art and writing on the walls from older generations of Caveclan. The cavern had since experienced a cave-in and had flooded, leading to the modern clan forgetting about it and the tradition of art that they once held. Echopaw is facinated with it all, and begins studying the art to learn old Caveclan stories and traditions, and learn how to paint herself. Saltstep, resistent to change, is completely against this and all of the "crazy" ideas for running the clan she gets from the paintings. Simultaneously, Saltstar frets over the reemergence of the old 3 former clans back in the territories.
(Part 16) Many moons (and an entire storyline) later, Saltstar is on his last life, and while he and Echo(doesn't have a warrior name yet) continue to see from different perspectives, he also trusts her ability to be his deputy. However, he is anxious about her ability to be a good leader, and still sees her studying of the paintings as a distraction from what really matters. Right before he dies (in some kind of conflict. A fight? A natural distater? idk I haven't figured it out yet), he realizes that Echo??'s investment in the paintings was out of care for bettering the clan, and that she'll make a fine leader. He dies knowing Caveclan is in good paws :)
Sorry that was so long. I have many thoughts in my small brain.
For those who have been following along with my other Warrior OCs, these guys are the Caveclan equivalent of Sheep/Quietstar and Lynx/Elkstar. Also, Saltstar is Amberpool's uncle and mentor.

Very very early, prob first but like, I love the progress of the animation, it's so satisfying to watch! The movement's super smooth and "realistic" looking.
I can't wait to see this in the actual map!
I HAD to come back to these and know the story after seeing it in your reel. I LOVE this whole plot and how you conveyed it through these parts. My favorite moment is when Echo is looking around frantic and her eyes rest on Saltstar, and he just smiles. The whole progression and how those expressions are animated feels so natural and fluid. You can really see how they're feeling beautifully.
The whole "make the clan better after learning its forgotten history through cave paintings" is GENUINELY such an amazing idea. Love this all around.
echo is such a fitting name for that cat! shes like,,, the echo of the former cave clan yk!!
Omg, Salt and Echo are very cool preffix, I love them! Also, your storyboards give me old Disney vibes, road trips can be so useful for getting inspiration.
If you need cave paintings to get inspiration, I highly reccomend Altamira and La Grotte Chauvet. This last one holds what many call the first animations ever!
Funnily enough, I specifically used the Chauvet paintings as inspiration and reference!

I love this story SO much, with extinct clans and new leaders having to re-build them,,, I loved Firestars mission for this concept in the first place lol. Love your art, this story and your OCs. They're my favourite in the whole Warriors fandom❤

Hmmm with their curiosity and interest why not call them Echo past or call. Since they are finding the ancestors and echoing their stories and traditions. An echo of the past lol.
