My Mom told me that I was named after this song. She and my Dad loved the song so much that they named me after it. 😊 I only came to know about it a few years ago (about 2 years before my Mom died), so I immediately searched for a copy of the song. I found several versions but I loved the short version of Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. Thanks for posting this version. ❤

My grandmother was named for this song, and I was named for her. I still remember Granny Genevieve playing this on piano well into her 80s (she could play everything by ear and at one point she played for the silent films) while my grandfather Jerry sang along. Made me cry every time. This is a beautiful version. Thank you for sharing.

+Genevieve Graham Similar story here - but my grandmother's middle name. My mom had the record pictured, and would play it often for me.

I've never met a "Genevieve" that I didn't fall in love with. Remarkable. Could it be because of this song, which, of course, I've known my whole life? I wonder. . .

Thanks for visiting! This is a great album. I wonder what Jimmy Durante would do with this--satisfying, I'm sure, with his own unique touch.

I like the old sweet songs best. Not like that junk now a days. Wouldn't this be great by Jimmy Durante? He did such marvelous things with sweet love songs and his gravelly voice.
