    More About Our Budget
The average cost for all services provided by Metro Vancouver in 2024 was an average of $698 per household, or approximately $58 per month. We expect these costs will increase next year by a regional average of $76 (about 11%) to ensure we are delivering services, maintaining infrastructure, responding to population growth, and meeting provincial and federal regulatory expectations.
Starting in 2025, in addition to the base rate, Metro Vancouver will begin to collect funds to support the construction of the North Shore Wastewater Treatment Plant Program. In 2025, Metro Vancouver estimates it will need to collect an amount that averages about $80 to $150 additional dollars from households in the region. The region is divided into four sewerage areas, so where you live will influence how much your sewer utility bill will be.
The budget will be finalized over September and October, with the Board deciding on the budget at the October Board meeting.
