Had my 2003 TF since 2017, I did the full upgrade to the head gasket, including heavy duty oil rail high tensile head bolts and Payen multi layer head gasket, I did this for my benefit the old elastomer gasket was fine. Its been a great car looks wonderful, its Royal Blue with Chrome pack AP callipers & 16" alloys. They are very reliable as long as you find one that's not been abused. The thing is the fun factor, great to drive!

Sounds like yours is in really good order, they really are a lot of fun for not big money, like you say, get a good one to start with.

I agree they are bargain sports cars and have been for a long time. I have visited Brooklands and been on the Concorde. Such an historic place and well worth visiting. Its a very nice car.

Just bought a cheap one with 6 months MOT left that needs a bit of work - same mindset as you really - get back into MGs with one of these as a fairly easy to live with 'classic'. First impressions they are much better than I expected for the money and really are a bargain at the moment. Looking forward to taking mine out a bit more this year and might join MGCC too.

I felt the same, forgot how good they are, there's lots of events lined up this year with the MG car club, worth the 53 quid membership

Hi Paul. Great to see you back with a beautiful 2005 TF. I wonder if the build date is before or after mine which was 10th March 2005. By the way the soft ride suspension upgrade on the 2005 facelift wasn’t Bilsteins. The springs were softer, ARB a bit bigger and the shocks were different but the handling and ride could be improved much further by Fitting actual Bilsteins from VHS. Perhaps yours had them fitted after. You can tell if they are blue and yellow instead of black. Did them on mine in about 2010. Massive difference.
