I tell you, Conscious Thought's work is so nostalgic for me, brings me back 3-4 years, to when I was working my first real adult job in a dull and depressing office, doing graphic design work after everyone had left, in the quiet night. Sullenly working, young and naive, feeling as though I might just be doing this forever. Finding some sort of comfort in that depressing, somber reality. Of course, things weren't so dramatic, and didn't turn out that way. But at the time, it did. And when I come back and listen to this old, ambient, emotional stuff, it feels true, again. It feels like that false reality is my reality again. And, just like it was back then, it's cozy and terrifying all at the same time. Being nostalgic for bad times doesn't make a single bit of sense, but it's just the way things are, I guess.
