I was having some issues so I reinstalled Python by clicking repair. When I repaired it, I was told that the computer needed to be restarted which I did and now it works great. So just an important step to add could be to restart your computer after installing everything and don't repair it like I did
I had gotten a really good feeling about this course when i started because ur exactly the kind of person i want to learn something like programming from But i did everything u did in in this video but when i was the doing the last part of your video my laptop said it needed to refresh to set up everything and so i couldnt follow from when u opened visual studio. In short i dont know how to make a console project or where can i find the option to make a console project.
I had already installed visual studio code on C drive but everytime I'd run it... it would mess with my drive and consume its space. I had a similar problem with photoshop but installing it on a different drive solved my problem. I guess now if I do the same with this, it will be okay unless it really needs to be on C. I don't know what's wrong with my C drive... it's so frustrating.
In your videos when you are writing code it show hints of what to type next and list of options for that, is that some setting or i need to also install something else?

@5:00 mark, how did you get the window to pop up? I followed closed the existing page then had the "untitled 1" pop up, then when I right click I have no save option, or I possibly don't know the input.
I’ve tried installing and reinstalling Visual Studio 2019 multiple times, and it still doesn’t install correctly. Usually when it comes to downloading, the percentage is somewhere between 98-100%. After it says it’s installing packages, but the progress bar isn’t moving up at all after several minutes. What can I do to make sure it actually installs?
Whenever I try to install the .NET development it gives me an error code telling me "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" how do i fix this?
I can write code in Rstudio, it seems pretty similar to python. I have just downloaded visual studio and i am wondering if anyone knows how to get a global environment like the one found within R, that shows all my strings/objects/etc. Cheers
While there are differences, coding in C# is very similar to coding in Java (though not JS). So this tutorial is still a good place to start if the teaching style meshes well with your learning style.

VS Code VS Community works, thank the heavens, but my terminal won't open, I've 'set the Path' to Python, I've assigned the environment to 8.1, I've even added a new PATH in Microsoft environment variable, which I don't know what the f that even is. And still nothing. There is not one(except community but I'm guessing I'll run into a problem later) editing software that has not failed me right off the gate. The thousands of tutorials I have yet to access because of either my arrogance, my exceedingly shit luck, or my dumpster fire of a PC, or maybe all three. Has led me astray, and I always come to the conclusion whenever I try to do something. Maybe it's a sign to just not do anything.

I don’t know a desktop IDE but if you have an iPad check out Codea in the App Store if you haven’t already. It’s a fun little lua IDE and has lots of game examples you can play with and edit and play directly on the iPad.

VSC is a text editor, not an IDE. It does still have some of the same functions.

I followed all of the steps properly but I couldn't find the console application at 8:06 .

You can find the option to save under the "File" option in the top left corner.
just hit Ctrl + S
But how do I open a file and use python, it just shows 4 small bars where it should show the python symbol.
Would you reccomend installing on a ssd or HD, I kind of want to put it on my ssd but my default is hdd

no. VSC isn't an IDE (the OP got it wrong) and is independent of VS. Make sure to install .NET

generally it's frowned upon, but everyone has their preferences. If it's easier for you, go for it.

Install Python onto your machine. You should have a play button on both VSC and VS. Click and run.
