@Zach that's what we've been talking about lately. However, I think if they did do a port or a remaster, they should use the DreamCast version as the base. I've never played the DC version myself, but from what I've heard it looks way better, plays better, and has more characters.
@Zach same here. I actually didn't know there was a DreamCast version until like last week. We still have the original disc and so that's the only one we ever knew of.
The ONLY downside about this game was that there were no sequels for Episode 2 and 3. This game was phenomenally fun, and the playstation version was far more difficult than the Dreamcast though I had both and both were utterly fantastic. The Dreamcast had a PvP mode too which was fun. Gods I spent hundreds of hours on this game. I wish it had direct sequels for two and three.
Funny, this is actually the game that made orange my favorite color when I was a kid, because I thought Plo Koon was a cool looking character, and it felt like an Easter egg to me to see him in the movies. I would always play as him, though I never got very far in the game, nor did I care that much about actually "playing" the game. I never did back then. I just wanted to be a Jedi.
this game was crazy hard. I remember only reaching the second stage of the game and that would be a big accomplishment since I didn’t own a memory card which i had to replay through the first stage again, still lots of fun and frustration.
This really was one of the best Star Wars games. Right up there with the Super Star Wars Trilogy, Rogue Squadron, Naboo Starfighter, Shadows of the Empire, Jedi Starfighter, Bounty Hunter, and the KOTOR Games.
It's kind of a shame that this game came out long before we ever knew that Mace Windu would be shown with a purple lightsabre or that Yoda would become a mean, green, flippin', sword fightin' machine! How cool would it be to play as Yoda in a game like this?
+Bowmaj 86 I think the idea is that Mace kinda went through lightsabers. He didn't revere a certain blade as other Jedi did, to him they were just a tool.
When I revisited this game recently, I was shocked by the horrible platforming sections, frequent glitches, and coop mechanics that kill teammates. It's not a good game. When was kid I must have been too entranced by the lightsaber action to notice.
God I used to think this was the coolest title sequence ever lol. Still pretty cool now that I watch it 10 years later. Still have the copy! Great game
How is there still not a video up on youtube to this day of the unlockable modes from beating the game with certain characters? I can't find the droideka unlockable anywhere on youtube :\
This game is proof that controls determine fun-factor; if one can control it they can play it. If they can play it they can enjoy it. The Dreamcast version was bound to a crappy controller. Despite looking better I couldn't get anywhere in it. No real way of locking onto targets sequentially in order to take out secondary and tertiary targets after the first one dies at the beginning of your combo. This intro is also badass. That extra set of horns at the beginning still reverberate in my mind from time to time. This is the only version of "Duel of the Fates" that has it that I've been able to find. Man, do I need to get that Dreamcast emulator working... :-/
Yeah, Adi Gallia simply OWNS in this game. Sadly the worst character IMO is Mace, becouse hes attacks are based on vertical slashes. Hes also neither fast enough, neither strong enough, and hes the worst character you can chose for a beginner. Heres how it works, if you are more into speed and combos, then choose Adi Gallia, Obi Wan. If you are more into strenght and power then choose, Qui Gon or Plo Koon.
Awesome Intro. I bought this game on our local flea market when I was 11 and had much fun with it even if I didnt went to far in the game ( I belive I stucked in the Coruscant Level). Even when the game is by far not to great as Jedi Outcast oder Jedi Academy I had much fun with it. it was also the first game were I saw yellow and orange lightsabers. 😂
Any way i know you didn't make the game up but is adi gallia a sith lord and a jedi or did they want to give her the red lightaber cos in clone wars she has blue
If I had to guess, I would say they probably hadn't thought very far ahead and at the time it didn't seem unreasonable that there might be a couple of rare Jedi who use red sabers. In the games manual it says her blade is "crimson"
I remember this game i used to played it alot after school we always picked Adi Galia and Plo koon (having almost cero experience with the star wars universe in general) i think i never beat this game but if remember correctly i was in the return to naboo mission
I loved this game but i remember some levels where really hard and nearly gave me a nervous breakdown lol. Great game and i do remember compeleting it.
Daniel Mace actually it was described as straight up red in the manual ...with sith lightsabers being described as crimson, but it was eventually retconned to blue in Jedi Starfighter I guess to save confusion
@@otakumartin4085 If I remember it correctly, the menus in this game described it as Crimson. :P But I can't check it sadly. It isn't a sith shade of red, at least :D But I think pink wouldn't be politically correct :D

Lucasarts will always be in my heart when it came to star wars games.
My all time favourite LucasArts game developed was Star Wars Shadows of the Empire.

How was the PS version more difficult? Ive never played the DC version, just curious.
this was the game that made me think Orange lightsabers existed
They did exist in the old Expanded Universe.
My fuggin WHAA??? Yeah they do they have a lot of colors actually

One of the best star wars opening games ever
This game had such incredible replay value, the fact that every character had its own fighting style made this game extra special
I missed those days. Such nostalgia
This one was pretty hard but I loved playing it on co-op
this game was crazy hard. I remember only reaching the second stage of the game and that would be a big accomplishment since I didn’t own a memory card which i had to replay through the first stage again, still lots of fun and frustration.
That makes two of us! ':D
God I miss this game, my absolute favorite on the ps1, and still ranks in my top five
This game was the shit! My fave character was Master Qui-Gon Jinn
His healing was the best
This really was one of the best Star Wars games. Right up there with the Super Star Wars Trilogy, Rogue Squadron, Naboo Starfighter, Shadows of the Empire, Jedi Starfighter, Bounty Hunter, and the KOTOR Games.
Infernalcx Mace Windu is the best character to play as with his Saber shield + Saber Throw abilities! :)
Kenpachi Ramasama the battlefront series before ea?

One of the most epic intro for a star wars videogame
I remember struggling with this lol
Merco Sage same with my older brother. If you get hit then you die.
Merco Sage same
Merco Sage i kept jumping of the edge to the two destroyer droids but i never made it XD but very good game though
Same here.
Best intro of LucasArts
This game brings back memories from my childhood. My older brother played that game and it was hard for him.
best game ever invented
well you haven't played a real game
This and Star Wars Bounty Hunter were pretty much my childhood.
Bounty hunter was dope

Yeah, even as a kid I realized this was a godawful video game. But it sure was fun!
Here in 2020 AND STILL MY FAV CHILDHOOD GAME !!!!!!!!!
After the intro ends Maul _immediately_ realizes it was a mistake to go up against five Jedi.
One of the best games ever made
I will buy this again.
It's totaly worth it :D
In 3-4 days I'm gonna be 12 again ^^
LordMax1991 gotta warn you though, it's very hard even in easy mode, saying from someone playing it recently.
This game brought me right back to 2000 lol
This should have been The Phantom Menace opening….
Great childhood nostalgia. 🎮 I recently started collecting retro consoles and games, definitely adding this to my list.
Hello, nostalgia, my old friend, I've come to talk with you again...
I loved this game. It was frustrating at times but I really felt like a Jedi in the game and it was enjoyable.

I always pretended to deflect the lazers in the intro.
The Lucasarts logo had a purple lightsaber

They gave Mace a blue lightsaber, yet we're willing to give the LucasArts logo a purple saber. Much confusion...
now in the upcoming remaster, Windu will have his purple saber
THE GAMES SO HARD ITS LIKE DARK SOULS!
Why is Mace Windu's Light Saber Blue instead of Purple ?
he originally had a blue saber, it was in some comics before ep 2 came out and he swapped to purple.
This is why the PS1 Aesthetic is infinitely enjoyable. It was a height in creative thinking and open mindedness on games.
People who prais dark souls for its difficulty never played this game

Why Mace Windu have a blue lightsaber?
It's odd seeing Windu without a Purple Lightsaber.
Soooooo... red lightsabers aren't only for the sith? But where would she learn dark force techniques and why would she even be allowed to use them?
David Mejia Jr nope, more jedis than her uses red sabers

David Mejia Jr i don't know, but there are more red saber jedis
