Plant YUCCA Rostrata - a wonderful sculptural DROUGHT TOLERANT choice for your landscape

Plant Yucca rostrata!
The Yucca rostrata is a wonderful sculptural accent plant for your landscape. It has beautiful blue foliage which is sure to compliment most any setting.
It is a Texas native that can take our hot Texas summers. You can plant them alongside other yuccas, agaves and cacti or soften up the look with perennials to add color to your design.
The Yucca rostrata is a trunk forming yucca that gets what is termed a skirt on it. The skirt is made up of the old brown leaves of the yucca that lay down on the trunk. Some people prefer to leave it and some trim it up. The last clip in the video shows a close-up of it trimmed and some people even trim it in a circular pattern!
The Yucca rostrata survived our recent Texas snowpocalypse of 2021 and was unfazed. They are fairly slow growing though when given water you can push the growth on them somewhat. However you choose to use them in your landscape they are sure to be a show stopper!!

Trying to decide which to purchase. I've seen the Yucca rostrata "Sapphire Skies", Yucca rostrata “Beaked Yucca” and Yucca rigida “Blue yucca”.
What is the difference between these?

Beaked Yucca is a common name for Yucca rostrata. Sapphire Skies is a nice variety which we like. The rigida is stiffer, whereas the rostrata has some movement. All are nice and sculptural.
