    The company's XB-1 demonstrator aircraft's supersonic flight is the first time an independently developed jet has broken the sound barrier.
    The XB-1 is a proof of concept technology demonstrator which Boom hopes will lead to the 60-80 passenger #overture supersonic airliner.

    It's always amazed me that the Concorde started flying over 50 years ago (1969) but after it stopped flying nothing has yet replaced it. Great stuff!

    A new Concorde ... I remember when I worked at CDG 1 airport, 1981-1986, 11AM every day, the supersonic departiuure to JFK, unforgettable. have a nice day Geoffrey, all the best Didier

    If boom goes well, could the Boeing sonic cruiser make a comeback? (the plane that would fly just below the sound barrier.)
