The healing rage only works if you heal at high health, incase youre a bit lower than half health and you heal then no debuffs The more rages you get in a match the more buffs you get each rages(yes it stacks) and the faster the rage fills up which you can abuse this to be tanky Undye and asgore 's phase cutscene has a knockback so you can use this to get free rage if they dont approach you
As a Certified 0-Life utprian i can say that this video actually explains so well the Rage Mechanics, plus with a very good idea for the stalling warning. 10/10.
I really like the idea of certain rage debuffs not affecting players below half stamina . It gives players below that threshold a chance to defend themselves without having to worry about being hindered in a situation that they can't control all too well . i.e. low stamina after knocking your opponent back so you can regenerate the resource that determines what punishes your opponent can do to you .

I loved UTPR but the rage mechanic was always the biggest thing that kept me from playing it constantly. It sucked whenever I got low stamina, and then the rage mechanic said, "fuck you" and gave me debuffs that ended up with me dying.
The rage system is weird. I was playing with a friend who is much better than me, and I was getting my butt kicked, so he let me get him to phase 2. So I start attacking him and he has his hands off his keyboard. I stop to start typing and then the game tells me I’m the one stalling when he’s literally standing there doing nothing and I’m the one getting punished for it.
rage meter would be perfectly fine.......IF WE STILL HAD THE MANA BAR Its added mechanics that makes me more aggrivated, why is it MECHANICALLY BETTER to have your a bar not effected by how you use your move, but instead by how you try to close the gap between your and your oppoenent, be the SAME bar that increases your knockdown time
Unrelated to the video, but do you know what the S-T-T-P event is, or atleast what it stands for? I was looking at the to-do list in the UTPR discord, and saw it. Idk what it is
looking at other roblox fighting games like Untitled Boxing Game, i personally think rage is a mechanic that's practically needed if you don't want matches to stall forever
@@cysipy i was thinking it would be more general debuffs, like having your character and their attacks become slower, as well as not reaching as far. it *would* still need to take a while for the effect to actually trigger, of course, like the PD fishing nerf, though there's times in ranked where you and your opponent are on neutral for like, half a minute uninterrupted
As an undyne main. I hate rage because 90% of Undynes moves make her stand still, and if i knock them back before using something like 4 (Ton of spears) ot fills up at minimum 40% of rage. Even wrose trying to use combos like: Hold 2, Hold 4, 1, 8. Its guaranteed rage
The only thing that get on my nerfs is the large m1 range of characters and asgore capability to atk while getting atked like how am i suppose to do a full combo with jevil 😂😂😂
i legit hate the rage mechanic, multiple times ive been debuffed when i shouldntve. this might be my faulty memory but ive been debuffed for my opponent to finish transforming into their optional phase (example: undyne 8)
Do you think that dashing I frames should be removed? Because The current meta is skilless and anyone with the iq of 27 can do it Block dashing makes the game less fun there is less and less skill aspect to the game currently
I’m a very good utpr player and think they shouldn’t be removed, utpr is mainly an m1 based game, and block dashing is still counterable, the game still takes skill and removing I frames messes up the entire balancing of utpr
@@Epiker_TheCalciumMan risk was added to substitute the removal of mana at the time, back then when you blocked it would drain your mana, when mana was removed risk took its place
honestly they should make it so zoner's cant get rage due to the fact they are MADE to stall... But rushdowns like GTC and UTF should get it like normal
I get rage buffs whenever this game appears on my screen nowadays.... In all seriousness this video helps a lot of newer players understand the system and fully grasp the idea since the only reason "better" players learnt so much about it was because they were around when the whole thing was getting created/developed. I think the main gripe with rage in all honest is just the fact it's not really explained to the player *how* exactly the mechanic works so a lot of people have to figure it out on their own. But some things do definitely need to be adjusted to support the rage system, stuff like "Block-Dashing" has been strong for too long so hopefully its eventually toned down to help make rage feel more fair Overall good explanation, I already knew about all of this yet it was still fun to watch and see where I was right and wrong.

1 thing you should've mentioned about healing rage: It only debuffs you if you're above half HP. Meaning that a frisk at 45 hp won't get a buff
