I had a neighbor that I became close to years ago. He was older and I found that he was a company commander in the 101st, 506tth, Company C. He described the Noville battle in detail to me and he said that of all the battles he was in it was Noville where thought he would not survive. He lead the column on the retreat through Foy. His name was Captain Albert Hassenzahl. He had a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and 4 Purple Hearts. God Bless his soul.
Great info and maps for those who study CCB, 10 armor, etc but when was this made? We have been there and did a lot of touring, just me and the wife, throughout the area. We stayed in Vaux to the north and jogged into Noville on the north route along the rising field still there. The tech is understandably lacking here, lagging and all, but the unmuted coughing on the host end was unfortunate and quite a distraction. Great info presented though.

My great uncle was at Noville. CAPT. Gordon Geiger
