    Wow, this is the first video where someone says they’re zooming in so you can see the product on the skin, where I can actually see it realistically. It’s silly when other people say it when they have the bright lights, I guess, because it doesn’t look as it does in real life. Thank you!

    Hi Jamie! I'm a "dupe" skeptic as well ~ but had to mention that for me, this one does mimic the Chanel product closely enough that I'm really to save $50 and get a similar look. Maybe our skin types, prep products, or methods of application are factoring in? It would have been great to see a side-by-side comparison of the two products at the same time with same prep and application so we could compare how each looked with the skin dryness. Thanks for adding this to the other comparison videos, the more info ~ the better!

    I think that the CG is supposed to dupe the Chanel Water Fresh Tint… I think the one you have is the Chanel Water Fresh Complexion Touch which has much more coverage than the Chanel Water Fresh Tint👍 I’d like for you to compare the 2 Chanel formulas☺️ I have the water fresh tint and love it… wondering if I should try the complexion touch…

    I wonder if Cover Girl was trying to dupe the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint, which also has 8 shades, rather than the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch? I've seen a lot of videos comparing the Cover Girl and Chanel tints.

    • @MWall
      @MWall 6 месяцев назад +12

      Yes, that is what I also concluded. The Complexion Touch by Chanel is not a comparable product. It is the Chanel Water-Fres Tint that is the same level of coverage as this Cover Girl product.

    I’d be curious to see half your face with covergirl and half with Chanel! Also maybe with a smoothing primer under the Covergirl since I’m guessing a lot people bought it and for that price are trying to make it work. It sucks that we can’t return to the drugstore here and it always baffles me that we don’t have testers…

  • @StephanieMarie

    OMG Jamie! I just finished testing this, so I started looking at others' reviews. You're the FIRST person I've seen that feels the same way I do - and we have different skin types. I have combo skin that happens to be dehydrated right now in a couple of areas. CG doesn't sit or wear well on my dehydrated/dry areas at all AND I get shiny in my shine-prone areas. I've also seen numerous people dupe it to the Chanel water fresh tint which is strange to me because that's only a tint. My immediate thought was this Complexion Touch and Rose Inc because they build. I'm super hard on dupes and am also surprised at how differently this wears on me than those do. You're definitely not alone!

    I have a running theory. I feel like it's breaking up because of different skin care and sunscreens underneath. The base product is supposed to be, according to the ingredient list, a glycerin water mix, right? And most people put sunscreen on their face. At least they're supposed to, LOL. And most sunscreens are not waterproof or even water resistant, especially the ones that we use as face sunscreens. So what happens when we put water and glycerin overtop of a sunscreen that is not waterproof or water resistant? The water and glycerin break down the sunscreen. And I think that's what's happening. I did some testing on my own- putting this foundation on with no sunscreen underneath, and everything wore a lot better. It wasn't perfect but it was a heck of a lot better!

    Thanks for the review. I think this foundation can be more of a dupe for the Rose Inc one. It's very similar. Also because it's water base you have to be very carefull what you wear undeneath. Also it would have been nice you tried the Chanel one now with your skin as it is now. That one could also react differently to the actual texture. I've had foundations I adore but wouldNt work out when my skin was was in difficult state.. thanks for zooming in!

Thanks for saving me some money. I need it to glide over imperfections and that’s the number one reason I love the Chanel! Could you compare the Chanel to the Jane Iredale Hydropure? I wish we could go back to a time where brands weren’t using skincare ingredients as a ‘feature’. I’m thinking specifically of Niacinamide (which seems to be in everything these days and that I’m sensitive to). I wish brands would see that we prefer to actually use and choose our own skincare ingredients that suit our specific skin rather than pretending the tiny percantage the product includes will actually do anything positive for our skin. Just my 2 cents though, I’d be interested to hear if people feel differently. Thanks for the review Jamie!

    I just brought my Chanel Les Beige to the free pile today…it never worked for me. It is the only foundation I’ve tried (I don’t try a lot, honestly, maybe 10 in the past year) that makes fine lines and wrinkles around my chin and mouth look extremely obvious. I don’t know why, no other foundation does that. I don’t have dry skin. Some of the concealers I’ve tried make the fine lines around my eyes worse, but nothing settles into my chin. Luckily I got it with Ulta points AND a gift certificate, but I’m still perplexed at it because I swatched it in Nordstroms multiple times to color match and it looked great.

    Try not blending it on your hand. Everyone who has gotten a good application from it apply/pump it directly onto the face and let a dense brush burst the pigments n blend that way. I think its not serum like anymore once you burst so its midway to setting when you're applying it n thats why it may be balling up. Just a theory worth a try imo.

It almost sounds like when my make up balls up on top of skin care that hasn’t sat down for long enough. I bet with a different primer or no primer, it might work differently? I know when I’m in a rush, most of my foundations do that same thing if I go too quick after my skincare.

      Jamie, I apologize for my previous remark, you are very close to right on! I listened to a couple other reviews and found I am easily swayed. Thank you for a thorough, honest review:))

    Ιt literally has ingredients that are supposed to resurface skin. I don't think these belong on a foundation.
