I did my own makeup and am thankful I did! I looked and FELT like myself. I actually had my photographer with me while doing my makeup and she helped me "amp" it up so I wouldn't be washed out in photos-- makeup for SURE photographs different so I loved that she had input on where to go a little more heavy handed!!
Been married for 20 years but I’m still here watching lol...I went to the MAC counter and bought an eyeshadow and a lipstick and did my own makeup for my wedding. Definitely not glam but I did look like myself so I don’t regret it.
I am celebrating my 20th anniversary this November and bought all my makeup at a MAC counter too! I had the MAC artist do a trial run & then bought all the products. Did it myself the day of. I wish I had kept the products because I can’t remember what I bought and wore. 😭

Just got married 2 weeks ago 🎉 and I did hair and makeup myself. Did quite a few trials for my makeup and ultimately went with my usual signature look (red lips)but more focussed on longevity. Didn’t use foundation, just some Nars soft matte complete concealer and went with cream products. I was very happy how natural but elevated it turned out and I’m more on the “if it’s cream and moves that’s fine, I can just go over it with a beauty blender and get everything back into place/touch up”-side of things. The only thing I really changed was using waterproof mascara and doused myself in Mac fix+.

I’m getting married in September and doing my own makeup so I couldn’t click fast enough! How do you ALWAYS read my mind 🥲 I’m a little nervous, but ultimately doing makeup is my zen time so I’m hoping it’ll calm my jitters on wedding morning. When I got married I did my own makeup and it was amazing to have it look like how I wanted to suit me! So often when someone else does your makeup it may not reflect your stylistic choices. I’m a makeup and nail polish nerd so not a shock to anyone that I did my own hair and nails - both turned out fabulous!

I did my own makeup for my wedding and I’m so glad. Like you saud, it’s important to look “like yourself”! I wear makeup most days, and I did a fairly standard soft glam with a punchy lip and flushed cheek. Some days I wish I’d worn a bit more eyeliner, but otherwise it was perfect. I think a bit brighter lipstick is flattering in photos and looks timeless. But I def got my hair done 🤠

Did my own hair and makeup for my wedding and had zero regrets. Watched a TON of RUclips videos to find a “natural glam” makeup look and was very pleased with the outcome. For my hair we did just hot curlers with big curls (our wedding was 1950’s glam, so red lips, bowler hats for the guys, so the hair went very well too!) and just pinned the curls back with pearl hairclips. Even if given the chance to do it over again, would 100% would do it exactly the same and change nothing 😊
I got married almost two years ago, and we decided to elope on a Monday morning. I did my own hair and makeup, which made me feel like myself, which is exactly what I wanted. I curled my hair with my straightener, and my eyeshadow was kosas globe (RIP 😢). I have really sensitive skin so I didn’t have a reaction which was great and I loved how it looked in pictures!

I did my hair and makeup (and self tan) for my wedding almost 6 years ago. I went for classic and “me” and I don’t regret it at all. I practiced a lot and was able to pick everything I wanted and knew everything would be comfortable and last. Everything turned out really well and I still look at my wedding pictures happy with all my choices.
Nah, I got married last year. I made my own makeup and hair. Neutral eyes, neutral lips and soft waves for my hair. I'm proud for choosing doing all by myself.

I used:
Face: Sisheido synchro skin primer, Armani luminous silk foundation, Shiseido radiant concealer, Hourglass loose powder, Fenty cream bronzer in Butta Biscuit, MAC glow & play blush in So Natural, Charlotte Tilbury beauty light wand the original shade, Guerlain pearls as finishing powder, All nighter setting spray from UD and also the Morphe continuous setting mist
Eyes/ brows: just some Essence brow powder and brow gel, Natasha Denona Glam palette and the pop shade from the CT Exaggereyes quad, some black liner from Loreal, Ardell falsies and the Lash Paradise waterproof version
Lips: Huda lip liner in Honey Beige and the og CT Pillowtalk lipstick

I got married four years ago. And I was not as comfortable applying makeup myself nor was I comfortable wearing much makeup. So I did my own makeup and I barely had any on.
But if I was getting married this year, I am much more comfortable with makeup and wearing makeup.
But I think I would still do my own makeup because I’m cheap.
I got my hairstylist to do my hair (she came to me) and I did my own makeup with the help of my sister. I felt more confident tag teaming with her and used products I knew well and was confident in. No regrets.

Just got married in February and I did my own make up and it turned out perfectly!! I put a lot of thought into planning it out and the products I was going to choose (which was fun in and of itself!) and since I had it planned, it only took me 15min to do! Actually even did a red lip, which went with the more retro glam vibe of my dress and couldn't have been happier with the result.

I did my own makeup & hair for my wedding day. I was really happy that I did my own makeup because it is something I would be super picky about someone else doing & I felt super comfortable doing it myself. I practiced my look several times to experiment with what I for sure wanted. I also did my own hair & I was super happy with how it turned out but it was also something I could have had a professional do just to take some of the pressure off of myself.
I did my makeup for my wedding and I loved how it came out. I felt pretty. I felt like myself and it lasted all day and night. I am not a makeup artist so I practiced in the evenings before going to bed for months prior to my wedding. I started narrowing it down to what products worked best so that the day of I knew exactly what items to use, the order to use them, and how to apply them. My hair… I paid for a professional to create soft Hollywood waves. No regrets!

Did my own hair and makeup and loved it! My hair stylist at the time was gracious enough to teach me some tips for the style I wanted which was really kind of her. My look on the day made me feel so much like myself which was the goal. Also amen re: stopping new skincare products a few months before. Stick with what works.
I did consider doing my own makeup for my upcoming wedding but honestly I was worried I’ll be too nervous on the day and didn’t want the added pressure especially as we are having a professional photographer/videographer attending. Loved your look xx

I had my makeup done for my wedding. I really wanted to wear lashes and did not want the stress of doing them myself. I also have one eye that is more hooded than the other and it was another thing I did not want to deal with. I have no regrets. We did trials so I could nail down what I wanted. I think the dress/venue can dictait what you go with for hair/makeup. My dress had a open lace back and I wanted to show it off

I'm getting married next spring and I'm already thinking about my look! I def want to do my own makeup, but same I need help with hair! I'm still looking for my perfect base, I'm between mac long wear nourishing and makeup forever hd skin bc they're both waterproof, but mac is much higher coverage. Guess I'll just have to see what my skin is like then! Also, I've been having very dry skin and I love using embryolisse as moisturizer and primer. It's awesome stuff and I use the sensitive version with no fragrance. And for hair I think I have to wear it up because I have a beautiful keyhole back in my dress and want to be able to see it! 😊
I got married in Vegas 2010. I got my makeup and hair professionally done. I had the face spray makeup that was popular and red lipstick. I loved my hair and makeup and had 0 regrets. Married 13 years!
This is so pretty, and you gave such great advice for doing one’s own bridal makeup. I did my own wedding makeup and I took every day as an opportunity to practice (I looked very glam at work for a few months 😂). I struggled the most with finding a foundation that lasted well on my oily skin, but eventually got one I loved. I’ve since done bridal makeup for my sister and a couple friends, and lots of bridesmaid makeup! It’s honestly so much fun to create a look perfect for someone on their wedding day ❤.
On my wedding day i wish i would have done more makeup actually, esp eyeshadow - i was young and barely wore any day to day at the time so i went with a very natural eye look with no false lashes - but that looks like nothing in photos and you get very washed out. 😅 Also i had side swoop bangs which i feel look very dated now, and I didnt add hair extensions or highlights, my hair had never dyed at the time. I would do both now if I was doing it again. I would also make sure to hire a decent photographer, which i did not do. 😢 And i could pay for those things by not inviting a bunch of people out of courtesy/not wanting to hurt feelings, rather than inviting only the people who i really specifically want to have their with me. 😂❤ Hindsight is 20/20😉🙃❤
I had a friend do my makeup because I didn't know how at the time. I got married in 2014, so she watched a bunch of OG beautubers and came up with something really nice.
I’m going to do my own makeup since I prefer a soft, lightweight look and we are getting married on an island, near the beach. I’m also going to do my own hair in a soft, layered wave 💁🏻♀️
My sister in law did my hair (who use to be a cosmetologist) and i actually did my own makeup! I have no regrets! I loved my makeup. I also had my eyebrows tinted and lashes lifted and tinted so i didnt have to worry about falsies. My makeup was exactly how i wanted it to look and i didnt look different from what my husband was use to haha

I didn’t do my own hair but I did do my own makeup. I was very happy with how it turned out, even in pics. However, it was a little stressful because I was running out of time and still doing last minute errands. It would have been nice to just sit back and have someone do it for me.
I got married last month and did my own hair and makeup. I don’t regret it because I like how it came out but I also do regret it at the same time bc I was so nervous the day of and just so stressed out that I would have enjoyed to just sit in a chair and get pampered. I would not have done it without a trial tho bc I am very picky and have problematic skin that I just wouldn’t know who to trust with. I used the haus lab foundation and it wore and looked gorgeous!!!

As someone who wears lashes almost daily I highly recommend mascara then lashes. It gives the lashes something to grab on to. Just my advice. 😊

Getting married this year! Have always planned pn doing my own makeup. My hair is purple so I'm definitely not going for timeless lol. I'm not certain what the final look will be yet but possibly a neutral crease and outer corner and sparkly green on the lids. I just trial the color combos when I have the chance. My bridesmaids still wanted the makeup artist though, so I'm a little afraid of being outshone 😂
I went to the Dior counter for a trial, bought everything and did my own makeup and hair. I underestimated how long my hair will take and ran out of time so my hair was underwhelming :( but my makeup was perfect and felt like me:) that was almost 20 years ago 😱
I got engaged a few months ago, and I have to admit that I am very stressed out about the make up ha ha. I am a longtime make up wearer/make up lover (obviously), but I also have gone legally blind in the past several years and that makes me very nervous to do my own. I do still do my own make up for work and for events and stuff, but my wedding is so much more pressure! That said, I live in a smaller town, so I’m nervous about being able to find a make up artist who could do I look that really feels like me. On the plus side, if the make up turns out terrible I can’t really see the pictures 😂

Got married in 1999 and did my own makeup - very soft and neutral. Got my hair done though (but I could have done it myself almost as well!)
I did my own makeup for my SIL’s wedding and it was honestly so stressful and took me way too friggin long to do, so I think I’ll be hiring someone for my own wedding. 😂 HOWEVER, this is like the perfect wedding makeup for me so I would absolutely show them this video and be like “do this pls”. I’m an MUA and I did my own makeup because it would have been more stressful for me for someone else to touch my face, but I did do multiple times trials and wear tests and take photos in lots of different lighting to make sure everything went perfectly (and it did!)

I got married a few months ago. We had a photo session before the wedding where I did my own makeup and the pictures were beautiful! And for my wedding i paid a lot of money for someone to do my makeup and I didn’t like it at all, I’m very fair and I felt I looked a bit orange.
In the end I wished I trusted my skills to do it myself because I know my skin best and what looks good on me.
Edit: and its so funny i used a lot of what you used in this video when I did my makeup! The eyeshadow palette, setting spray, half lash and etc. 🤣
I had a small park wedding and I did my own makeup. I'm surprisingly happy with it. Kinda wish I put lashes on but no biggie, im natural and happy. Undereyes could be better but no matter what concealer I use, its still dry and wrinkly so thats just me haha
Got married in 2012 and to be honest, the only things I don’t regret is my skin quality and the man I married… I did a very 2010 purple eye, my curls were very prom-esque, etc.
Prior to becoming engaged I had dyed my hair my natural color (new somewhat of a timeframe of when my husband would propose). Then I didnt touch it again until after the wedding that way I had my most natural hair at my wedding. So I understand the thought process of hair color for the wedding
I did it myself and liked it a lot actually. I eloped and later had a smaller wedding, all in 2020. I felt like I looked like myself so that was good. Followed RUclips videos for hair and makeup. But it turned out well and helped me calm myself to take my time and do a familiar routine
