Blake, your home design has inspired me to build a dog trot like yours as well. I love the points you made about forcing the kids to walk across into the outdoors to get something to eat or enjoy the other side of the home. My kids have spent days with zero sunshine at times and I hate it!!
I’m even going to have many plants in my breezeway so it will be part relaxing deck, part greenhouse!!
I will also close off the screens with greenhouse panel material in the winters since I’m in the northeast where it snows a lot. It will be amazing to still enjoy the outdoors inside my home. I might even do an outdoor fireplace on the back wall of the dog trot so it can be a four season porch!! 😁
