    @ronen Pretty much any pliers, channel locks, needle nose pliers, etc will work to get a clip link master link off. If your chain doesn't have a clip link, you need to push a pin through or cut your old chain . If you don't care about your old chain you can grind all the way through a link or a descent sized bolt cutter will cut through a link. Some people grind the pin on one side smooth with a grinder then pound the pin through with a hammer and punch. A chain tool is worth the purchase if money isn't an issue..

    You left out the 2 half inch bolts that release the brake plate from the carrier. If you had actually tried to tighten the chain you would have had to show this.

    Thank you so much for good instructions. The chain on my Scrambler 4x4 500 just broke off. Are there any of you who can help me with a web link to the right chain. I live in Norway and we do not have many Polaris dealers in the area, so I am thinking of buying online. Thanks in advance.

      Luisthakiller221 Depending on what year. A lot of Polaris' basically use the same set up.

      Yes and do not buy any of these parts on Ebay. Buy them OEM from a Polaris genuine parts. I tried to buy the front sprocket on ebay and it did not fit on the splines it was too small. Then I called a dealer founs out where to get the Polaris genuine part from. Cost me a little bit more but it was worth it.

    the gear sprocket is pain in the ass, i need the red snap ring pliers

    • @randumbness2291
      @randumbness2291  8 лет назад

      +199alexman Yes sir it is. You can pick up a cheap pair under $8 at Harbor Freight. However, my snap ring pliers didnt open the ring up all the way. I had to use a flathead to help pop it off :( I'd spend the extra money to get a good pair..

      what's funny is my dad took it to his shop {junk yard} and fixed there using the right tools but yeah thanks for the advice :D

    • @smoki2515
      @smoki2515 6 лет назад

      Exactly. Ditch the pliers use a common screw driver. The snap ring comes right off. There is little room to use the pliers.
