We're full time marina dwellers as we both work fulltime. As a short sighted person who didn't realise until someone pointed it out to me, I just wanted to make you aware that if you do this often, you should get your eyes checked because it's likely you need glasses.

You two really make good entertainment and interesting aspects to it too You commented that since you don't need to use your shower on GG at the moment you are not bothering fixing the leak just yet. I would advise getting that job high up the list (a) because you don't need to use it at the moment, so you can work on it with it really dry and without worry that if not finished in one day you'll be living smelly and (b) because it is the sort of task that is so easy to keep pushing back that it ends up being a mad rush to get it done just s you want to leave the marina. Finally, (c) in the deep part of winter when the weather outside is at its worst there will be plenty of times you really don't want to walk over to the showers, have a nice hot shower but then get cold and soaked getting back to GG. I still remember my uni days when for some time I lived in a place without a proper functioning bathroom and had to go onto campus to use the sports dept showers. Going back in the cold afterwards made me ill more than once. It was many decades ago, but still lingers as an unwanted memory. Surfshark is tempting, especially with the offer you mentioned. Does it work if you are once detected? My work includes going to a number of countries including China, but thankfully not so much now. For a long time I used to go to China with a functioning VPN, but while still there it would be detected and blocked by their cyber security (or whatever dept). I needed it as I needed to access training materials and videos that were often on RUclips - blocked in China, but accessible if using a VPN. Once detected and blocked I would have to wait till I was out of China to delete it and install a different one. I've lost count of how many different ones I have used, but I don't think I have used Surfshark yet. I also want to watch many UK series that I miss and are not aired here. Hi guys, just a little bit of useful information I read about. Snails have a protective membrane so if you just pick them up to move them it tears. If you tap on the shell first they release themselves so it is safe to pick up. I hope you don't mind me sharing, I thought it was nice to know. 😊
Very productive day, well done! There are certainly many pluses to being in a marina and while you have had so much going on it must help not having to stress about getting water and elsan etc. The folk there sound very friendly too, which also helps. Won't be long though before that 'itchy tiller' sets in though lol :) Glad to see Rufus is getting more like his usual self too.

We are continuous cruisers but always take a break for four months over winter and cosy up in a marina. The locks and tow paths are not for us in the wet and cold. Currently enjoying Tattenhall marina. Great facilities. Never come across a bath in a marina now that is special 😘
I adore you guys, I'm in California and long for your weather, while you are doing you marina jobs may I suggest you finish painting those kitchen cupboards, try something better than chalk paint, it will hold up better to dirt. Maybe even change the color of kitchen cabinet s, it will give you a whole new look and brighten that area. Rufus is looking well bless him and your journeys☺️

I live permanently in a Marina due to circumstances and have a water tap and electric point right at the end of my boat, I’m very lucky! The water point on the boat is at that end so it’s a win win, no trouble topping up regularly. I do shower every single night before bed. 😂 I do use a lot of electric, washing clothes on board, drying them using a dehumidifier and keeping the water heater on 24/7. I do hope Rufus will be ok and your stay in the marina is a happy time for you all. ❤️🐾

Your doubts about seperation of waste in recycling plants they have many machines that separate glass ,plastics ,metals paper etc, I worked as an engineering contractor in a massive one in the Manchester area 😊

Love your vlog I did laugh as its almost identical day to ours! I always think washing in a marina is expensize but not having used a launderette for sometime maybe not! Do you think that marina life makes you lazy? Life is easier for sure. Have a great week
Some laundrettes we have been to charge £6-9 for a wash 🤯 its crazy!! Don't think it necessarily makes you lazy, and you still have to do a lot more maintenance than in a house, less stressed though maybe haha!
Out of interest what do you use for cleaning the floors, in my motor I can't find a solution I like, a vacuum take up too much space, a mop makes the floor damp and it takes ages to dry. A dust pan and brush, always ends up with with some of the dirt escaping the pan.

We live in a marina diesnt serm as nice as the one your in, i really hope Rufus is doing ok, i was sad to see him so poorly. Maybe get some boat jobs done whilst you have some time 😊
It depends on the area to be honest, most of the countryside is very well kept and dog walkers and ramblers tend to keep it very tidy, but sadly as you get closer to towns and cities you do see more litter in the canal and the towpath ☹️
The best one we have found is the excel briquettes you can get at most places. It lasts the longest and produces the least ash out of all the ones we have tried. But everyone has a different preference so try a few out maybe 😊
Our dog was poorly and needed some operations and treatment for cancer, so while that's going on we needed a base to go to and from the vets, its worked really well for us 😊 We will be back to continuous cruising in the new year 🫰🏻

For obvious reasons mooring in a marina seems more like living in a mobile home park. Access to electricity and water for a fee, waste disposal facilities provided,ect.

Hi about your concerns about biffer recycling they have to sort as much as they can as they are charged by the tonne to put into land fill so the more they sort the less they pay

Your doubts about seperation of waste in recycling plants they have many machines that separate glass ,plastics ,metals paper etc, I worked as an engineering contractor in a massive one in the Manchester area 😊

Some laundrettes we have been to charge £6-9 for a wash 🤯 its crazy!!
Don't think it necessarily makes you lazy, and you still have to do a lot more maintenance than in a house, less stressed though maybe haha!
Out of interest what do you use for cleaning the floors, in my motor I can't find a solution I like, a vacuum take up too much space, a mop makes the floor damp and it takes ages to dry. A dust pan and brush, always ends up with with some of the dirt escaping the pan.
I’m with Wes on lasagna soup. Sounds unappetizing. Lol I’d call it a lasagna bowl because I’m giving myself credit for still having to cook it. 😆

I found the coal an interesting topic, can a narrow boat have a diesel heat like a camper van?
They can! Most narrowboats have two forms of heating, a wood/coal burning stove and then radiator’s fueled by diesel, ours is a webasto. 😊

It depends on the area to be honest, most of the countryside is very well kept and dog walkers and ramblers tend to keep it very tidy, but sadly as you get closer to towns and cities you do see more litter in the canal and the towpath ☹️

The best one we have found is the excel briquettes you can get at most places. It lasts the longest and produces the least ash out of all the ones we have tried. But everyone has a different preference so try a few out maybe 😊

Our dog was poorly and needed some operations and treatment for cancer, so while that's going on we needed a base to go to and from the vets, its worked really well for us 😊 We will be back to continuous cruising in the new year 🫰🏻
Guys please when dealing with sewage put gloves on being on a Navy ship it's 100 times bigger we had to gear up with safety gear to make repairs

For obvious reasons mooring in a marina seems more like living in a mobile home park. Access to electricity and water for a fee, waste disposal facilities provided,ect.

They don't recycle it - we have the same in AU - 3 bins but they all go to the same place so I no longer bother.
