Currently there are just a few Cameras that have a reliable Autofocus system, but that only works with modern photo lenses.
But there is a solution to get a super autofocus on any camera with every lens - LIDAR AF.

Great review! What really interests me is having a battery operated follow focus! (For whatever reason, I hate cables lol). So having a unit that doesn’t need a seperate power source is awesome, I’ll have to check this out for myself.

You can switch it to manual focus and set infinity at any time if needed.
Gute Erläuterung, danke für das Video. Ich überlege mittlerweile seit fast einem halben Jahr mir es für mein Canon EOS M Rig mit Magic Lantern RAW (Crop mood) zu holen, da beim fortlaufenden aufnehmen, bei Bewegung es schwer ist, das Bild immer in Fokus zu halten.. die Sache ist, das ich bei vielen Objektiven eine variable Brennweite habe.
Danke fürs zuschauen. Ja mit einer variablen Brennweite ist das natürlich schwierig. Das funktioniert nur mit Zoom objektiven die Parfokal sind

Also es gibt zumindest Videos wo Leute das mit dem 18-35 nutzen und es funktioniert wohl hervorragend.

I’m not sure if there is already a distributor for Norway. There are a little slow to bring it in to the European market.

Does autofocus work only in the center or at the side points too? If yes, how to choose them? What is the autofocus area?
It is mostly in the Center so the direction the sensor is pointing to.

You’re welcome. Unfortunately you can’t see what the AF area is. But from my experience it’s not too narrow so even if you’re a little away from the middle it works fine

The motor itself is not it depends on the lens
what's the difference between Live Air 3 Smart and Live Air 3 Smart Mini?
What I have in the video is the Live Air 3.
From my understanding the mini has a smaller motor

This, from PDMovie when I emailed…
If the lens itself has no hard stop limit and no depth-of-field scale frame, I am sorry that the autofocus function cannot be compatible with this type of lens.

Good question. It could be harder but for me it worked well.
Does it work with anamorphic? Did you try it?
No I didn’t but it should work since it’s not different mechanically to a spherical lens
@@pauleporterdp okay ..just curious because anamorphic is usually more difficult to focus manually ..so I guess it more depends on the calibration of the lens.
Yes I think once it is calibrated it works fine

Ja wenn du währenddessen das handwheel drehst hört der AF auf. Zumindest bei meiner Unit

how its works with zoom lens like a sigma 18-35? when you colabr.. on wide 18mm and do it zoom to 35mm do you need colabrt. again or its will be works?
Hello, thanks for watching :) so is the zoom Lens is parfocal then you just need to calibrate it for one focal length and you’re good to go. If not you need to do it for every focal length in the range of your lens.
But I’ve seen that it works just with one calibration on the sigma.
