Seconded on everything GT said about the Bren 2. Got the Ms Carbine at the beginning of this year. Love it to death and I hope it gets to approaching the popularity of the AR-15 some day. To me, it is the nearest ideal execution of the AR-18 layout as has yet been devised. Really, really well-made, accurate, reliable rifle. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

You can definitely get an AR-15 built how you want for about $600 - $800.
If you want with an upper that has a side charging handle if you hate the standard it can be done.
That's definitely the beauty of AR-15 platform, it has the options available for you to play with.

The Bren 2 is definitely a step in the right direction compared to both the 805, and 806. I was not a fan of the 806 I had in Ukraine for many reasons.

It's essentially an ACR copy without the ability to use AR parts and a slightly more awkward charging handle.

Do u think that paintballs could have a place in modern warfare. Or paint grenades for that matter. As silly as it may sound at first u could easily use the paint balls to blind enemies via shooting Thier eyepro or nods, or shoot enemy vehicle view ports and cameras. Another thing is that u could use it to easily distract enemies as it has no flash and sounds like a 30mm blooper or a 40mm. U can also fire the paintball guns really fast and slow enemies with it. Not to mention setting off claymores or anything using lasers with a pain grenade. Or use it to mark enemies so they stand out more. Now obviously it won't kill or anything but paired with a normal rifle and kit I think it could be useful. Thoughts. This would be especially nice as it may be all some people could get

As a the Bren 2 is a great rifle but be aware replacement parts are rare to find and CZ isn’t very good at supporting it. That being said I’ve had the 14in version for a little over a year about 2500 rounds and it’s my current favorite rifle.

Kind of? It's more of a case of "convergent" development as one could argue it's more of a Vz. 58 successor.
As a Czech I am proud that Bren is becoming the choice of firearm for foreign legions and Ukrainian soldiers. We always had a way of saying "yeah Russian stuff is alright but we can make better stuff for the same price" and now we did the same to NATO

As a Canadian I agree. There's a reason they ONLY let you fellas make/use your own rifle in the warsaw pact. I LOVED using my CSA VZ58 before our Prime Dickhead decided they're too dangerous for us to use.

I was a Glock 19/M4 guy for 30 years. Now I’m P10C/Bren 2 guy. CZ is doing it better and cheaper. That’s powerful combination.
Can't say a word against Bren 2 but P10C is just cheaper. You should have kept your G19.

The nonreciprocating charging handle that locks to the bolt until it goes into battery is super cool. Other gunmakers need to catch up, that's a really useful feature.

@@rondobrondo Normally if your charging handle does not reciprocate, it can not be used as a forward assist. The Bren 2's charging handle can be used as a forward assist despite being a non-reciprocating design because it becomes detached from the bolt only when it goes into battery.

Was playing an amazing Czech game yesterday (Kingdom Come Deliverance), starting the morning with a review of a great Czech rifle, and considering a CZ to replace my G19....they really do put effort into what they make over there, and it shows.
Love my CZ P10! PSA was selling them for super cheap on clearance awhile back.

Having shot both this and a SCAR-L, this has everything good the SCAR has and is both lighter and cheaper. Huge fan of the BREN 2

Can't tell you how it compares agoinst the B&T but I have a Scar 16 and Bren 2 in ~16" and I'll be honest, for me, it's the Bren 2.
It just feels more up to date, more refined, lighter and yet the precision and recoil is still as excellent as on the Scar. Personally I love the ambidextrous controlls and the "in-trigger guard" bolt hold open. Stock trigger is amazing on the Bren 2. CZ is also more chill with a silencer and it does work well.
And I mean, when we come to the price, it gets exceptionally unfair. In my country you can pretty much get two Bren 2's for the price of 1 Scar 16 ...
@@Sebastian-yl7nq Nice. I have a B&T APC223 16” and I love it. I have never shot the SCAR or BREN 2. The APC is incredibly smooth. The trigger isn’t the greatest, but I plan on changing it soon. The APC is also very accurate. Would make for a great comparison video.

We’ve been llocated on the frontier of western german world and eastern slavic world for over a millenium. Our culture and even ethnicity from the dna standpoint is a perfect mix of both. And I think this mix of german precision engineering and eastern practical simple “can be repaired with a hammer” engineering is a result of that. Our engineering industry spat out quite a lot of novel innovative designs for a small 10mil country. Unfortunately communists decimated our industry, but few of the big names survived and continue the pre war legacy.
Never let commies ruin your country. I see results of their destruction every day I look out of my window at the original Sellier and Bellot factory they destroyed and left to rot. Only the company name over doors of one small leftover building reminds of the past. Fortunately the company survived, unlike most others.

@@Jirka-j2g My Aunt is from CZ (she lives in USA now and her brother/my father passed when I was young) and went through the Soviet invasion-occupation.. One thing I've learned about her is how much she HATES communism/Russia (not so much the people, just the leaders and country).. It's actually not even funny because you can feel how much rage, frustration, and betrayal she has for what they did to her and her family when she talks about it.. Now everything happened in Ukraine and it's like a blast from the past with her.
You probably just sold quite a few of these. I want one for sure. I think even Eugene Stoner would be impressed. His system being taken to the next level and using polymer tech also as his original quest was to build a rifle with non traditional aerospace materials.
NGL, this is my favorite rifle I own. Accurate, near zero felt recoil, relatively low gas even when suppressed. CZ knocked it out of the park with this one. Whenever I let people shoot mine I warn them they will want and may not be able to get and they always do.
It’s one of the best “legal” options in Canada. I’ve been looking forward to this review for some time.
What modifications have to be done to make it legal? If you can get it in this configuration, you’re already better off then Cali and NY.

The secret here was that CZ listened to their consumers.
When the Bren was first made, it was competing against the FN SCAR. The SCAR won, but they both had some of the same shortcomings, like the reciprocating charging handle.
CZ took all their criticism for the 805 and fixed it for the Bren 2.
I was very torn a few years ago deciding between the Bren 2 and Tavor 7. I ultimately went with the T7 because I am a lefty and it's slightly more ambidextrous (allowing you to change the shell ejection side), and at the time the only Bren 2s available were as pistols and I really wanted a rifle.
I love my Tavor, but I still really want a Bren 2.
FN Scar do have a non reciprocating charging handle now.

I have a Bren 2 decked out by Haga and HBI. My absolute most favorite rifle I’ve ever owned. It’s incredible. Also I have the polonium K on my Bren with an 11” barrel. It’s an incredible can. My 11” Bren is fairly accurate. First round impacts on targets passed 550 yards at a DMR match I have shot with it. Shooting 68gr Frontier BTHP. I changed out the OG charging handle after I sliced my finger open on my Eotech. If you’re in the market the first upgrade I would do is upgrade to a Haga lower. I got to prototype the nylon one and can confirm it’s worth the extra money so you can use AR triggers and grips. Only downfall is you lose the bolt release inside the trigger guard.
I was thinking the trigger guard bolt release was the most useless feature on this rifle for me, anyway.

The first thing you do is change to the extended offset charging handle.
Sad you have to add another $1000 on top of the base price to get this rifle just right.
@@MrParker_1 you don’t. I chose to add the stuff. If you watched garands thumbs video the only thing he changed was the charging handle and handguard. I dumped money into it because I wanted my gun to stand out from other rifles. And I spend way more than $1,000 to upgrade it.

An honest assessment is that it's evened out. The time and effort for high production content (Think CZ-96) gets the same views as these. Which, by comparison, are mid if I can borrow a phrase from Charlie. I'm not saying that you're a liar. You're just wrong.

I Love my Bren 2! I hope these see more popularity in the states. I got the 14" barrel 5.56 variant, pinned and welded a dead air flash hider to it, put on a factory stock, and decked it out with HBI stuff. Its an amazing firearm!

@@John-mf6ky Well if demand goes up prices will go up for a little until demand is met with supply coming into the country, then prices will drop again. Or something like that? I like the idea of it becoming more popular as that will increase the aftermarket support for it.
Same setup I pinned and welded a surefire warcomp, and it's gassed perfect. Also, it was a great home for my vcog. Buy the spare parts at hbi I broke a firing pin took 7 months to get from the factory since most is going to Ukraine.
@@jb7483 Sounds awesome! Mine is decked out in HBI stuff - charging handle, trigger, handguard, and thumb safeties. The best parts I got from HBI were the new gas regulator, piston, and high load piston spring. The 3 position (vs 2 position factory) gas regulator is awesome! Have not settled on an optic yet - just rocking a red dot for now.
@@EngineersArmory nice I just got the gas regulator today and spare parts today on sale. Upgraded controls and trigger a few years back. Love hbi trigger. There is a company that makes an aluminum lower that runs ar triggers. I may get one in the future.

I added a Bren 2 in X39 to the collection 2 years ago when there was a shortage of 5.56 and 7.62 x 39 was still plentiful. It is a great gun. Throw on an OSS suppressor and it really rocks.
Did yours have the atrocious gassing and stovepipe issues? HBi finally released that new gas regulator and it saved the gun for me. Otherwise couldn't get through a mag without a few stoppages

My bren 2 will most likely replace my URGI as my go-to. Long story short, i had a bren a few years ago, felt i didn't need it, sold it. Bought a VIRTUS, sold it, bought 2 SPEAR LTs, sold them, bought a SCAR16(love it) but felt something was missing still. And after selling my final 11" SPEAR Lt i realized the bren2 checked all my boxes. I love the URGI, but there's no other rifle I'm more excited about than my bren 2.

I have the 11.15" in 5.56 in an SBR myself, and it is one of my top 3 favorite firearms that I own. That action is so ridiculously smooth. HBI hanguard to the muzzle device, HBI Trigger shoe... the gun is just so good. Glad it's finally getting the showcase it deserves.
I've wanted a Bren 2 BR for years now but who knows if they'll ever make a semi-auto version & who knows if they'll ever bring it to the US.

Im a big CZ fan. The bren 2 has been next on my list for months. I should probably go ahead and order one because the more proven this gun becomes in combat - the higher the price is going to climb on the domestic side
If/when the war in Ukraine slows down, CZ will have lots of production and nowhere to send it. I'm banking on cheaper Brens in the future. Or not.

Great review. I’ve had the Bren 2 Ms 11’’ .223 version for a year or so and it is definitely the best combat rifle I’ve ever tried. Mine comes with the factory folding stock as it is the Czech version. Comes with a factory 3.5 lbs trigger, awesome. It is super light, accurate and compact, specially because of the folding stock and short barrel. I’m running an EOTECH EXPS2 with a Holosun 3X magnifier. They thought of every modern feature for this rifle, it barely needs any tweaking. However, HBI makes some very cool add-ons so aftermarket support is not an issue. I installed a Magpul vertical grip and a sling. I’m really impressed with the engineering of the rifle and I love it.
Very likely my favorite modern rifle. I have 4 of the Bren 2s early imports. LOVE them. One in 5.56, one in 7.62x39 and two 7.62x39 consecutive serial numbers NIB. :)
Love the Bren 2. Have a SBR in 7.62x39 that I use with a Deadair Nomad and Nomad LT. It’s an amazing combo

Your x39 actually runs? Heard quite a few negative comments about them having gas port/plug issues. My 14" 5.56 has been flawless and I looooove it. Such a great gun and smooth as glass

@@aceman1126 it was an old issue. I put an HBI spring in mine and it’s never had an issue with thousands of rounds. CZ has had a fix for a long time too.
@@tcsailair7750 that's what I domt get... the gign had them first and they seemed to work well enough. Idk how cz Fd up so bad when they made the pistols they sold here. Just make whatever you made for them how hard is that?

I bought a CZ SP01 two years ago when I wanted a hammer fired pistol for EDC. I have almost 10000 rounds through it with only 3 malfunctions that I can remember, all from junk ammo.
My grouping from my ruger sr9c to the SP01 went from 8 inches to about 2 at 25 yards. I thought I just needed more practice but it turned out I just needed something that fit my hand better.
TLDR I will always consider a CZ firearm.
I love my CZ shadow sp01. I have 4-6 thousand through it with admittedly poor maintenance of the late. Not a single malfunction. My sig has had quite a few already and in probably 300>
It is a pretty fantastic rifle and it's $1500 less than a scar
I had a CZ Bren 2 in Ukraine and I loved it. I have always been an AR guy but I fell in love with that rifle. Very smooth and precise

Czechnology never disappoints.. Bought one last month. Love it so far. Really nice rifle..
The trigger can be improved even more by installing a HBI trigger shoe. It makes the reset even better, their extended safety is really freaking nice too. My favorite rifle I’ve ever owned for sure. If CZ ever brings the Bren 2 br into the USA I’ll buy one in a heartbeat.

Been super obsessed with this rifle since it was announced years ago and sat in anticipation while the pistols were hitting U.S. shores. Once I found a great deal close to or under.MSRP I jumped on it too fast. Gave it the HBI treatment and a fancy Trijicon 1-8x. Only reason I never fired it after the upgrades is where I am there weren't any ranges to stretch it's legs.
I've got the 11 inch Bren 2 and absolutely love it. I have a video break down of it on my channel. Sweet rifle, especially suppressed.

Ive been telling people theyre sleeping on these things. I get such enjoyment from mine, so smooth, fast and reliable. The only thing holding it back so far is CZs lack of support and marketing.
